It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

Albert called Bertie or Frederick known as Freddie. Cute. And so aspirational.

daisychain01 · 24/04/2018 15:48

I hope Philip features somewhere in his name.

'George Charlotte and Philip' hangs together OK

Would be nice for Great Grandpapa's name to live on.

MrsJayy · 24/04/2018 15:48

I don't think anybody is attacking them just the Op doesn't like Arthur

Im glad I am not alone on the Prince Albert thing I had not a clue

catbasilio · 24/04/2018 15:48

I'd like Edward.

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 15:49

And so aspirational.

Why's that aspirational? Genuine question.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/04/2018 15:49

I like Arthur. Better than Ryan anyway.
I'm guessing Frederick nn Freddie with middles names Henry and David.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 24/04/2018 15:49

I think it's going to be one of Arthur/Albert/Alfred. And I hate all of them.

Me too. Sad

TomRavenscroft · 24/04/2018 15:49

I really like Arthur. It's strong but beautiful. It makes you think of King of the Brits Arthur and also poor Arthur who was meant to marry Catherine of Aragon and be king rather than Henry.

MrsJayy · 24/04/2018 15:50

Aww Freddie is nice they should go with freddie

Boredofthisnow86 · 24/04/2018 15:50

Arthur is a lovely name. So is Artie for short.

Would you rather he was called Jack or Jayden? ConfusedHmm

Tanith · 24/04/2018 15:52

I'm indifferent to Arthur as a name, but I can't get away from the shortened version of The Wart in The Sword in the Stone!

totorostoes · 24/04/2018 15:54

Surprised how much hate their is for the name Arthur! I have a little Arthur/Artie and nobody has openly disliked his name, and I have very honest family.

Don't want the prince to be Arthur though as it will end up too popular.

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 24/04/2018 15:54

I'm holding out for Peorge. Since they already used the most obvious choice for their firstborn. And then when William is king, he can re-designate 23rd April as St Peorge's Day.

UrbiEtOrbi · 24/04/2018 15:54

I like Arthur. Isn't it William's second name?
Don't like Albert at all.

EddieHitler · 24/04/2018 15:54

Wonder when they'll announce it. I like Arthur and Albert (love Bertie). Alexander is nice too.

Elvisola · 24/04/2018 15:56

I think it will be Henry. As a nod to Harry, he doesn't use that version of his name and never has so I don't think it would mean they couldn't also use it.

Arthur doesn't go with George and Charlotte, the others are named traditionally, can't see them using Arthur. Defo not Albert.

Louis and Alexandra are used in George's name. I'm going with Henry Phillip Charles.

SofieMonde · 24/04/2018 15:56

James would be a fitting tribute after Harry's father :) Little Prince Jimmy?

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 15:57

They've used Alexander already as one of George's middle names. Ditto Louis.

My best guess is Arthur Philip William.

DGRossetti · 24/04/2018 15:58

I like Arthur. Isn't it William's second name?

It's Prince Charles third name (Charles Philip Arthur George)

MyOtherProfile · 24/04/2018 15:59

How long does it take for them to tell us? Is it always drawn out like this? They must have had it decided months ago unless they're still negotiating with great grandma.

CiderwithSusie · 24/04/2018 15:59

I think they should announce that henceforth George will be called Uhtred, and then the new one can be George.

But my actual money's on Philip

LarkDescending · 24/04/2018 16:00

..and William's second name (William Arthur Philip Louis).

Asmallrole · 24/04/2018 16:00

James and Frederick are taken. Alexander is one of George's names. As is Louis. I think Philip will feature but I don't like it as a first name. I am thinking Albert Alfred or Arthur. Alfred known as Freddie maybe ? Surely Harry will want to save Harry/Henry for his own son ?

MyOtherProfile · 24/04/2018 16:00

Then his son will have to be called Uhtred, son of Uhtred Grin

LapdanceShoeshine · 24/04/2018 16:00

Queen Victoria had an Arthur (I'm surprised she didn't run out of names altogether in fact) - Arthur William Patrick Albert

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Arthur,_Duke_of_Connaught_and_Strathearn

His son was Prince Arthur too, but that one only had an Alastair Arthur - & he was an only child & died aged 28 when he fell out of a window, while pissed - how sad.

That alone would put me off having Prince Arthur. It's not a very lucky name for a Prince.
