The pornstar look

I know, I know we should not be judging each other but the pornstar look? Why would you do that to yourself, over inflated boobs, over inflated lips what is it about it that appeals to some women. I presume men are attracted to it because it screams sexually interesting but I cannot understand why women are drawn to it. AIBU

Oh right well then hand back your right to vote, to education, to equality, etc.

Not so keen? Well then you’re a feminist.

Nope. Feminism as a movement has moved on from that. There are a few who I find interesting and identify with, but as a movement as a whole I don’t identify with it’s current direction.

Linking the current movement with past ones with entirely different aims and saying if I support them I must also support a group of women who judge and demonise others and oppress their sexuality and free will is just ridiculous.

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:10

Well piss of back there chick no one is stopping you.

TheStoic · 17/04/2018 15:13

I actually cannot bear to look at women’s faces that are full of Botox, lip filler, or plastic surgery. I find it genuinely repulsive.

Obviously I would never say this to them, as they can do whatever they want to do with their faces.

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:15

Feminism is defined as the advocacy of women’s rights based on the principle of equality of the sexes.

If you believe women have rights, if you believe in equality then you’re feminist whatever you claim.

The idea that feminism has moved on from equality is laughable. All the more so in the year of Harvey Weinstein et al and the publication of gender pay gap figures.

Quite apart from the countries in the world with female infanticide, genital mutilation, purdah, poor access to birth control or abortion. Women in Saudi have only been granted the right to drive as of this summer!

Turkkadin · 17/04/2018 15:16

Personally I think all women should be able to wear whatever they like without being judged by others, without being thought of as trashy or cheap or easy but unfortunately we don't live in that sort of world. If a woman presents herself in an overtly sexual image she won't always get admiring appreciative attention. The world hasn't changed one bit.

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:16

I find old men with wigs and Botox much funnier. Why pick on women? Gosh it’s so unusual too

Elendon · 17/04/2018 15:16

I don't agree with that at all Vladimir because the base line for women looking good has always changed to the 5% - that is a fact when it comes to advertising.

Only 5% of women look naturally like this, like some people, like myself, had a pouty full lips when young plus long eye lashes and a full groomed eyebrow.

I don't have any of them anymore because I'm post menopausal, though they are still fuller than most women of my age. Sure my features may have got me that job because I looked attractive. But I certainly was not as capable as those who were not as attractive. This caused me stress too.

Iooselipssinkships · 17/04/2018 15:18

I wonder how different Mumsnet would be if it had avatars and everyone had a profile picture of themselves.
Maybe people would be less judgy? I have a lot of tattoos, it doesn't mean I crave attention. Some of the comments are pretty shitty.

Maddiemademe · 17/04/2018 15:18

I have a pornstar look. 1050cc impants, lip filler, botox, bleach blonde, lash extensions, size 6. Funnily wnough I am an actual pornstar that does very very well for myself. Funnily enough it has never held me back, it has heped me tremendously and shock horror, I actually like the way I look.

HTH Smile

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:19

Trouble is though tatiana to debate properly you kind of shouldn’t patronise and insult other women calling them thick.

It sort of undermines your whole ethos really

Anyway don’t hang around with us bottom feeders you get back to your echo chamber snd debate with your friends.

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:21

Except I haven’t called anyone thick.

You can’t have a debate on AIBU, there’s no point trying.

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:23

the discussion is a bit more sophisticated

Oh I see that’s a compliment? Hmm

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:23

Bit judgy but yeah I think it's a bizarre look too. I would never want to look like that, but each to their own. I have to say though, that I don't know a single man who is attracted to this!

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:23

Yes you can have a debate in aibu you just feel all women should agree with you I think

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 15:25

Nope tatania, nonsense. I think anybody with a glancing knowledge of feminism would know that it’s moved on from that and become a movement which is demanding some women change their behaviour to satisfy them.

That is not seeking equality for all women. It’s asking them to swap one oppressor for another.

It doesn’t matter which movement from the past you try and dress it up with, it’s a nasty oppressive movement that seeks to privilege conforming women over others by judging their actions and appearance and labelling them as incapable of agency.

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:27

Clearly not, yet nor is it a reference to intelligence.

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:28

@limoncello84

Are you referring to women just have surgery etc to look like that or are you judging women who naturally look like that too?

No-one 'naturally' looks like THIS

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:30

To MyDog^^

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:31

Seriously MightyMucks?

I can’t even be arsed to engage. Good luck.

VladmirsPoutine · 17/04/2018 15:32

So what if no-one naturally looks like that woman @DD43? What does it matter to you? Should everyone stay in their 'natural' state? Who would police that? Where would you draw the line? Should women not dye their hair or use fake tan for example? Who is going to police all of this and what right do they have to police it?

limoncello84 · 17/04/2018 15:33

No, but there are women, myself included who have posted on this thread who are naturally big lipped, big boobed, small waisted, big hipped who to people like the op would be considered unnatural /fake/porn star etc and it's an offensive stance on those who have no choice in the matter vs those it doesn't effect in any way shape or form

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:35

You're wrong if you mean the look I think you've described. I have long hair, red lips, and a 10 inch difference between my bust and waist and my waist and hips. Everything is natural but I suppose by someone like you, I'd be judged wearing anything /looking like nature intended for me.

I have a waist that is 12" smaller than my hips and bust, and long flowing hair and 'red lips' but don't like THIS

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:36

@keilninnock

How unpleasant. I have hair extensions and Botox but dont look down on bitter, dowdy people. Because I am not unhappy, jealous or a messed up woman. Each to their own.

Well some women don't NEED botox like you do,

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:37

NEWSFLASH @vladimir People have different views to YOU
