The pornstar look

I know, I know we should not be judging each other but the pornstar look? Why would you do that to yourself, over inflated boobs, over inflated lips what is it about it that appeals to some women. I presume men are attracted to it because it screams sexually interesting but I cannot understand why women are drawn to it. AIBU

No. I don't. Funnily, that's why I posted what I posted. I know...weird

There's no need to be so rude or tell me what to do

Women can do what they want, dontchaknowGrin

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:40

I was talking to @vladimir, NOT you @lemon

Funny how you answered me though.... Wink

limoncello84 · 17/04/2018 15:42

You bolded my post so assumed you were replying to me

sadsparticus · 17/04/2018 15:43

There is very little I hate more in this world that the pressure put on women to change how they look naturally.

I read The Beauty Myth in the 6th form and it's been a battle my whole life since to believe I look acceptable how I am (i.e. clean and brushed but basically natural)

I am furious that this bollocks system of patriarchy has us spending time and money, and experiencing pain and self-criticism, in order to to conform. It keeps us on the back foot, right where they want us. Compare the effort we put in to that of an average man.

A4710Rider · 17/04/2018 15:44

The pornstar look doesn't exist anymore, it's so 90's.

People like Sasha Grey are now more popular, she's the opposite of how a pornstar is meant to look.

VladmirsPoutine · 17/04/2018 15:46

@DD43 Have you lost the plot?

NEWSFLASH @vladimir People have different views to YOU

This is the point I have been making!

Mydoghatesthebath · 17/04/2018 15:47

DD43 · 17/04/2018 15:49

Cross post I guess.

Yeah, because we’re going to free women by making them conform to the ideals of a small group of women. Yay equality! Your body your choice! Except if you’re doing something I don’t approve of, then you must be mentally defective!

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 15:54

NEWSFLASH @vladimir People have different views to YOU

Exactly. Some people like that look and want to have it. They shouldn’t have to justify themselves or be labelled as defective and wrong.

But what you’re really saying is ‘some people have the same views as me and I believe I have the right to impose them on other people’ isn’t it?

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 15:58

There is very little I hate more in this world that the pressure put on women to change how they look naturally

Agreed. And yet it is very difficult to do anything about it.

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 16:06

Yeah, so let’s put pressure on them to look another way instead. Fuck free agency, fuck respecting women’s right to do anything they want with their own bodies, fuck their right to wear anything they want from a burka to a bikini, fuck recognising women are not a homogeneous mass with the same views and preferences, let’s make women do as they are told!

DD43 · 17/04/2018 16:07

@mightymucks

WTF are you going on about? Confused

I haven't said anything that even remotely implies that.

Now go and try your gaslighting on someone else.

Branleuse · 17/04/2018 16:08

theyve sexually objectified themselves and get off on the fact they represent a sex object. Their whole sexuality is based around how submissive they are and how much of a sexual caricature they appear to be, rather than what actually feels good. I think its like the female equivalent of autogynephilia

idobelieveinfairies86 · 17/04/2018 16:08

wow well I'm off to book some plastic surgery so that I don't look like a porn star even though my overly large breasts, child birthing hips, apple bum and are all completely natural, apparently there's something wrong with that.
There's not much I can do about my "come fuck me eyes" as they have a mind of their own but never mind at least it'll only be 1 thing I can be put down for.

@idobelieveinfairies86

Stop talking such crap.

This is NOT type the OP is on about.

And you know it!

I have a figure and lips and legs and an arse to die for, a figure like Jessica rabbit too. And I am not remotely offended by what the OP has been saying.

Some people just love to take offence at ANYthing!

thecatsthecats · 17/04/2018 16:12

I quite agree @sadsparticus.

The pink tax on beauty products and time that has convinced a vast majority of women that health and beauty activities are necessary or desirable just to step out the damn door depresses me immensely.

And yes, I know that some people will say that they enjoy make up, and I don't disbelieve them, but I think it's pretty undeniable that the mark up on products and expectation that women will subscribe to this culture is substantial.

A female colleague of my fiance was complaining to him about how expensive a trip to Boots was for all the beauty products she needed for her regime - £60 a go for a month (a woman he describes as 'not wearing much make up - god knows what that looks like to him...). She asked him how much I spent and he couldn't tell her. He asked me - I spend £30 sporadically. I have friends who spend more like the £60/month on hair products etc. I just can't fathom how much time and dedication people are putting into it.

My fiance washes his hair with a daily 2in1, and uses shower gel. That's it. He has lovely skin and soft shiny hair.

THIS IS NOT BASHING WOMEN WHO USE BEAUTY PRODUCTS. I just really struggle to understand the impetus to do that much and spend that much, and I really don't believe it's because women are that naturally into beauty.

VladmirsPoutine · 17/04/2018 16:13

Interestingly @DD43 women are often told to calm down or chill out when they express their opinions. Odd that...

DD43 · 17/04/2018 16:13

So many uptight fucking mortally offended at sod-all types on here today! Is there something in the water or something? JEEZUS! Confused

DD43 · 17/04/2018 16:13

Yes odd that isn't it dear... if you say so.....

sadsparticus · 17/04/2018 16:14

It's really hard to follow the logic of some people on this thread.

I assume we all agree that there should be no societal pressure on women to look a certain way (whatever that is). Don't we?

limoncello84 · 17/04/2018 16:15

Why wouldn't you believe that?

limoncello84 · 17/04/2018 16:16

My post was directed to thecatsthecats with regards to the not believing they are that into beauty
