The pornstar look

I know, I know we should not be judging each other but the pornstar look? Why would you do that to yourself, over inflated boobs, over inflated lips what is it about it that appeals to some women. I presume men are attracted to it because it screams sexually interesting but I cannot understand why women are drawn to it. AIBU

You're wrong if you mean the look I think you've described. I have long hair, red lips, and a 10 inch difference between my bust and waist and my waist and hips. Everything is natural but I suppose by someone like you, I'd be judged wearing anything /looking like nature intended for me

pigmcpigface · 17/04/2018 13:59

I think this is a question about when "choice" is choice and when it's a form of internalised media manipulation. In this case, because the "look" is largely one that is associated with a certain male sexual fantasy, that also means it's a question about the extent to which women are abe to maintain a self-image that is independent of, and pays no reference to, an assumed male gazer.

Agreed pigmc

I don't know as I don't find it attractive. Nothing against cosmetic surgery, I just prefer more natural looking... each to their own, though.

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 14:06

I think this is a question about when "choice" is choice and when it's a form of internalised media manipulation.

Which is just another way of saying you think some women are too thick to make their own informed choices just because they’re not the same as yours.

Elendon · 17/04/2018 14:07

Personally I hate it also, though I don't see it in real life at all. So I reckon most women are happy with their female form without enhancement. Well happy enough to go out and do social things.

What I have seen is sharpie eyebrows - why? And the half falling off false eyelashes.

Obvious manipulation of lips and facial features on social media pictures, including the trout pout. I KNOW you and you do NOT look like this in real life!

It's got nothing to do with being thick though Mightymucks and all to do with low self esteem. Highly intelligent people can be crippled with low self esteem.

TatianaLarina · 17/04/2018 14:13

And to call it pornstar is demeaning of those who look like that naturally

As a nigh 6 ft (natural) blonde with a big mouth (literally and figuratively) I’m more than aware of this.

But OP is referencing something very specific - ‘inflated’ ie enhanced rather than natural - boobs and mouth - overtly and emphatically rather than incidentally sexual.

Elendon · 17/04/2018 14:13

Nonsense Bumblefumble

A bit of highlighter on top of the brows and cheeks and the chin area is nowhere comparable to the contouring nowadays.

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 14:14

elendon, the comment inferred that women could not make a conscious choice to look like that and it was always blindly led by the media. And yes, even calling it ‘low self esteem’ is labelling women who choose to look like that as wrong or damaged or defective.

brokeForYou · 17/04/2018 14:14

I find it sad that women want to police other women.

I'm sure unemployed grid and podium girls will understand.

How unpleasant. I have hair extensions and Botox but dont look down on bitter, dowdy people. Because I am not unhappy, jealous or a messed up woman. Each to their own.

Very few women do make that 'choice' though and most are deeply unsatisfied with their bodies.

How far do you go though in the desire to achieve what you think is the best for you?

If you are anorexic then obviously being skeletal still isn't enough. This is recognised as a mental health disorder.

Getting bigger and bigger boob enhancements and bigger and bigger lips should also be seen as a mental health disorder too.

Elendon · 17/04/2018 14:21

You sound the very epitome of bitter and dowdy Keil

Fake actually. But each to their own. If you want to look fake then go for it! No one is stopping you with your botox and hair extensions.

MumofBoysx2 · 17/04/2018 14:22

Women who do that just look thick to me!

Justaboy · 17/04/2018 14:23

FWIW heres one man who doesnt find pumped up brests botoxed lips and other body areas that sexy at all quite the reverse IMHO!

Tinkobell · 17/04/2018 14:23

Dull thread OP

Sparklesocks · 17/04/2018 14:24

very true Bumblefuddle for the industry, but contouring is much more mainstream than in recent years, you never used to be able to buy special 'contouring kits' in superdrug for example..

Mightymucks · 17/04/2018 14:25

That’s an opinion masquerading as a fact. Can you back it up with anything?
