LakieLady- Dioressence was never discontinued but it has been reformulated several times, it's also not a massive big seller for Dior and with all the (new) Miss Dior flankers, it wouldn't surprise me if they did discontinue it in due course. That's why I stockpile vintage bottles of it (along with Diorella, its skankier sister!) I smelled the latest version a while back in an airport and while it's still lovely, the vintage version is magnificent in comparison- try and pick some up on ebay- for some reason German ebay is good for old Diors.
ldbemonica- if you mean Laura Biagiotti Venezia, we can still get it here and pretty cheap- try Italian Amazon or ebay. My local Italian pharmacy-type place has it for about €10. SabineUndine Roma is still around too, still smells quite similar to Obsession and about €15.
JT05 Miss Dior originale is the nearest to original Miss Dior. I have the new version and several vintages- and tbh, it's one of the least reformulated reformulations out there. You just need to not get given the flowery new Miss Dior (velvet bows and a million flankers) by mistake. Even the salespeople don't know what you're asking for half the time. I was showed about 6 velvet bow things and kept saying "original Miss Dior, not Miss Dior" You can pick up Dior Star very occasionally on ebay.
Pallisers Paris definitely not gone, but again, try and get hold of the older versions and avoid the Mon Paris etc.
DSHathaway the flat atomiser Gucci- was it a blue patterned flat bottle? The original Eau de Gucci? I picked one of those up from ebay as well. To take me back to 1987.
I've also read a few bits and pieces talking about the possibility that Chanel 19 won't survive- so have several bottles just in case! But I don't believe it tbh. I smell it on far more women than I do Chanel 5. They may stop it taking up so much shelf space in their concessions (I notice at most airports there's a full shelf of 5 a full shelf of 19 etc)
Clinique Wrappings is bought out at Christmas- PP again do a pretty good dupe- but the trick is to look on the Clinique website after Christmas- you can pick up the gift sets quite cheaply.
isseywithcats- Black Opium and the original Opium are two different animals- in addition the new formulation of original Opium is a bit rubbish. Perfume Parlour do an amazing dupe of original Opium which smells more like old Opium. (ditto Rive Gauche- the PP version is more like the original than the new version)
I also loved the Vidal Sassoon marzipan smelling shampoo- one of my best Christmasses ever was when my Mum bought me the shampoo and conditioner and a Mary Quant make up set.
Charles of the Ritz did a fabulous make up range called Revenessence or something- it was light reflecting but years before everyone started doing it.
