I hate it when they discontinue my favourite perfumes

My all time favourite summer perfume was discontinued,Miss Dior Cherie l'eau.
It really pisses me off when they do that,or reformulate it so it smells nothing like it used to.now its going for crazy prices on the 'Bay.
Also lancome Aqua fusion moisturiser!
What are your favourite discontinued perfumes or beauty products?

Glamorous by Ralph Lauren. I want this as my wedding scent and there is a bottle online but its about £100.

@SS2512 Snap, how funny is that! I still have a bottle of body lotion left that gives a lovely scent (and really, enough probably) when used (very special occasions) but I still really really want a bottle of the perfume.

Do try perfume parlour for dupes of these scents..

Estée Lauder Azuree - I have worn this perfume for 40 years, after a while it was only available in the US or Harrods at Christmas.

Then 2 years ago they decided to “bring it back” and restyle packaging etc.

It is a much weaker perfume ( I still had an old style one to compare).

I am using the new one but still hanker for the old one.

Jo malone - blue agave and cacao

I'd clean forgotten about this. It's the only JM perfume I really liked.

I miss Gucci City Glam.

I bought my daughter a bottle of Jo Malone Blue Aguava and Cacao when the assistant told us they were going to discontinue it as it’s her all time favourite
She is not ‘allowed’ to use it as she knows she will never be able to have it again
I had a look yesterday and there was one on eBay with a £250 asking price

JL Mimosa and Cardamom is very similar to the Blue Aguava

cheesenacho, nanasue, bettedaviseyes, i also loved the JM blue agava and cacao, and was incredibly annoyed to find out they had discontinued it (although seeing how much the prices have crept up in JM in the last few years, it is probably for the best! It used to £25 for 30ml at JM and now it is £45). I bought the perfume parlour dupe and the longevity is much better and it smells exactly the same. It’s a shame that they can’t do a dupe of the body creme as well because that was magnificent and I’m hoarding my last few drops of it!

Benefit did a lovely perfume that's been discontinued- see and be seen Sacha. I bought 3 bottles when I realised it was going but I'm all out now.

I tried to buy Vera wang hippie princess a few weeks back and it's in he £100's now in Ebay

I guess they diddnt sell well which is why they were got rid of- but I loved them

@sammylady37 you can buy contradiction still. I got some on amazon at Christmas and it wasn't stupid money

To explain some of the reformulation, and possible subsequent discontinued perfumes, the use of animal musk was banned some years back. It was a huge issue for perfume houses, because the synthetic musk smelled nothing like, and also didn't have the staying power.

A lot of work was done trying to reformulate and create a fragrance that was as close as possible to the original. Some have been successful, others have led to the perfume changing beyond all recognition and thus being discontinued because this impacted sales.

It's undoubtedly better for the poor animal that used to supply the musk, but it has meant the death of some classic fragrances.

@Downtheroadfirstonleft Nooooo! Do you really think they'll drop it? I love channel No. 19! It's the only decent scent they do! I'll just have to take the hit, I love it. Surely they are more likely to bump it onto their mythical perfume list?

Just found out kheils stopped their perfumes and I adored one.
Clinique Wrappings is my favourite and for some reason they don’t sell it on Clinique counters anymore. I did get it online once but I was so scared of using it, smells of pine forests and I luffs it.
Dior poison tendre - favourite too back in the day.
Limara (I think spelling?) was also my favourite teenage perfume and discontinued

@Fabulouslyrich and others bemoaning the loss of tendre poison - perfume parlour have a dupe if this. I think it's a wee bit lighter but it's definitely worth trying - I'm loving it!

@Gardai - I’ve bought Clinique Wrappings from Harrods online recently.

Ultima II Sheer Scent was my favourite,no perfume that I’ve owned since has been as good.

My favourite is Clinique Wrappings as far as I can find I can only get it from Harrods now 🙁
