Answer the door

Put the bins out.

Go down to breakfast in someone’s house.

Go down to breakfast in a hotel

Early morning dog walk

Go to the shops.

Do the school run.

??

I would (and do!) do all except the last three because I am terminally lazy and rarely dressed before noon if I don’t have to be. AIBU and a dreadful skank?

cats - same here.

I wouldn't eat breakfast at home in PJs.

Gwenhwyfar · 05/04/2018 20:35

I wouldn't go to breakfast at someone else's in PJs or any other clothing.

OhCarrieMathison · 05/04/2018 20:41

For me, I wouldn't do any of these things as it would make me feel all minging.
I take PJ bottoms off and put pants and joggers on to have a cup of tea then as soon as I can I get washed/bathed/showered.
I might just put joggers and a top back on but I'll feel clean if I have to answer the door, take bins out and end up chatting To a neighbour.

Each to their own though but definitely not for me.

Passportto · 05/04/2018 20:43

None. I don't go downstairs until I'm showered and dressed.

ChiefSpoon · 05/04/2018 20:43

The first two. I have once gone for petrol in pjs when it was an emergency at 1am ... threw my coat on and went.

Coconutspongexo · 05/04/2018 20:46

Lived in Liverpool since I was 4 and never seen anyone go to the Asda or similar in PJs.

Can’t believe people go down for breakfast in hotels in their pjs

RebelRogue · 05/04/2018 20:50

@Gwenhwyfar do you never sleep over at someone else's house?

FranticallyPeaceful · 05/04/2018 20:52

Anything that’s inside the house and at a push the garden (quick dash to put bins out. I’d also go in my back garden as it’s private).

School run??? Jesus wept

FranticallyPeaceful · 05/04/2018 20:53

“Gwenhwyfar

Nekkid breakfast runs? Grin

Passportto · 05/04/2018 20:56

I don't think I've ever seen one of my neighbours put the bins out in their PJs. It's not like it's a surprise you have to do it. Get up, washed ,dressed, start your day including putting the bins out if necessary.

Seafoodeatit · 05/04/2018 21:35

First two here too and only if it's early morning.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 05/04/2018 21:38

Pjs I have many pairs
I’d wear pj
After getting Out of shower in evening eg on return from work
Evening watching tv
Weekend mornings
Never outside
Never school run it’s skanky and a brass neck

RebelRogue · 05/04/2018 21:43

@LipstickHandbagCoffee that almost sounds like a poem. Can feel the love for your pj's.Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 05/04/2018 21:47

You're so right, I have 7-8 pairs pj, couple dressing gowns
When I get in from work I shower put on clean pjs

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 21:54

I sleep in my Pj's and that's it. I don't even leave our bedroom without having a shower and getting dressed. The only exception is when I go downstairs through the night to DS bedroom to do nightfeeds he's 4 though so comes up to me most nights.

Gingerninj · 05/04/2018 21:55

Sometimes I'll answer the door, I often don't get dressed on weekend mornings but my pyjamas are mostly leggings and a pyjama top. I'd say putting the bins out is fine, you're only out there for a few seconds anyway. I would get changed to go down in a hotel but probably not if I was at someone's house, as long as I know them well. Depends how early and if it's just a walk up and down the street then it's fine. Going to the shops is a bit much really. As for the school run I've done it in my pyjamas, with my coat over the top, a few times when I've been really ill but no one else can take them. I was going back to bed the second I got in anyway.

stoneagemum · 05/04/2018 21:57

Never go further than the bins in PJ's unless walking around the corner to friends house after a shower to get ready for a night out

Well that's my rules anyway

RebelRogue · 05/04/2018 22:01

@newmama2018 your. 4yo still feeds in the night?

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 22:03

@RebelRogue yeah he's breastfed so still has nightfeeds. He's stopped in the day obviously because we both go to school term time

MumofBoysx2 · 05/04/2018 22:08

Only the first two at a push. Sometimes if we have an early post delivery I have to, but luckily we're not visible to anyone when we put the bins out anyway!

DoctorWhatTheFuck · 05/04/2018 22:22

Do you consider wearing a cozy dressing gown, worn over clothes, to be the same as wearing PJs in the day?

Home from work I will change into a Tshirt and shorts then put on a gown and slippers. How would you view that?

speakout · 05/04/2018 22:27

I find dressing gowns impractical garments for day wear.

Long sloppy sleeves, get wet in the sink, no buttons, forever flapping loose and having to be retied, risk of belt falling in the toilet when you go for a pee, they are cumbersome and restrict movement.
I wear a soft warm long cardigan in the house, close fitting sleeves and a fine knit, not too bulky.
My favourite is a cashmere one, has buttons too- as warm as my dressing gown but light and easy to wear.

Andromeida59 · 05/04/2018 23:06

Answer the door
Go down for breakfast
Take the bins out (only if it's v.v.v.v.v. early and no-one else around)
I'd never go down for breakfast in a hotel in my one or go anywhere past my gate unless putting bins out.
Hang washing out in our garden
That's about it

paxillin · 06/04/2018 00:04

I love a pyjama thread.

colditz · 06/04/2018 00:22

People wash their bed wear a lot less often than they do their other clothes, I don't want someone hanging over my shopping basket or buffet breakfast wearing a pair of pj's which have been farted in for 8hrs a night, for a week straight, thanks.

Not to be overly picky, but it's probably just you who doesn't wash your pyjamas for a week. Seriously, that's grim
