Answer the door

Put the bins out.

Go down to breakfast in someone’s house.

Go down to breakfast in a hotel

Early morning dog walk

Go to the shops.

Do the school run.

??

I would (and do!) do all except the last three because I am terminally lazy and rarely dressed before noon if I don’t have to be. AIBU and a dreadful skank?

When I worked nights in a 24hr supermarket we often had whole families out in their pjs doing the weekly shop at some weird time of night, I was more suprised at the idea of taking the kids out shopping at 3am than the pjs tbh.
But then we also got people having sex in the passport photo booth at 3am and someone who was slaughtered throwing up in a fridge full of turkeys. - now that was a tad skanky.

According to my DC, spend the entire school holidays, although I made them put clothes on for a National Trust Easter egg hunt and going to a café.

I spent the whole day in my satin sleepshirt, underwear, and socks, but the only person who saw me was my husband.

At 38 weeks pregnant I just couldn't be fucked to get dressed with nowhere to go nor any desire to go anywhere.

I don't think it's appropriate to go outside the house in PJ's without a robe except maybe early morning to put out bins or check mail. Also okay to accept an early morning delivery I think.

I would never go to breakfast in a hotel in pjs. Or leave the house unless getting in the car and not getting out.

Wouldn't go to the shop in pjs either, or walk a dog. Quite shocked at how many would!. Doesn't take long to throw on a trackie and coat.

@Dippingmytoesin It was two in the morning, no one was really about to care. I ran in, got the book I needed for my assignment and left 😂

Angie169 · 08/04/2018 00:53

sleep in my birthday suit , dont own pjs . so all of the above would be out of the question ( it would give my neighbours something to talk about tho Smile

thecats isn't no bra uncomfortable though? I'm 40AA and mine have just started getting to the uncomfortable, sweaty stage. In bed I'm constantly putting my hand under my right boob because it's uncomfortable.

We stayed in a hotel this weekend. To my suprise a lady was there filling up her juice .....in her pjs!! No dressing gown. Even my dd(7) said Mummy, that lady hasn't put her clothes on! I definately couldnt do it. If i felt that bad i couldnt get dressed I'd have to get room service.

These type of threads really make me laugh - do people really care that much about "what would people think?!".

I have clean pyjamas every night so I'm probably cleaner than some people dressed. I'll answer the door, put the bins out, wander round the house and garden in them. No to anything else though I have been known to rush up to the village shop or take the dogs out in them with boots and coat over the top when ill. Even so, I really don't care if people see me in them. Saturday is often a pyjama day to recover some energy after the working week. Also, it takes me quite a long time to get going in the morning but I can carry on until the early hours.

I don't care if people see my pyjamas or what they think. I don't wear make up during the day either for work as I can't be arsed. People can accept my skin problems along with the rest of me. In addition, I have a congenital condition which, together with hypodentia, has led to losing my top teeth; my plate HURTS so I don't bother with it at home (waiting to see if I can get implants to hold a denture in on the NHS due to my condition) and bugger who sees me. Let 'em judge.

Adnerb95 · 13/05/2018 10:01

Surely, the crucial difference is the bra issue? Lots of pyjamas COULD be almost identical to leggings/ltrousers worn with a T-shirt but would not appear in public without a bra!

southernharp · 13/05/2018 10:10

One two and only three if I am at a close friends. However on one occasion I did mow the lawn on my ride on in my pjs and then went to my friends for dinner with her family. She didn't care and her dh thought it was hilarious. I was going through a horrible time and just lost the will to get dressed that day.
