Totally prepared to be told I AIBU and I know it's a first world problem but my DF purchased DP and I a £100 voucher for Marco Pierre whites steakhouse for us to treat ourselves due to me being in and out of hospital since the beginning of December with abnormal cells found on cervix turning out to be CGIN and other issues with my womb.
We finally got around to booking last night to kind of celebrate the end of a shitty few months and I've only just read the small print. It expired on 31st March Sad
I called the restaurant to ask kindly if they would mind extending it due to circumstances the women that answered was kind and said that would be fine if I could send proof of results and hospital appointments (which I was happy to do.)
She's then gone of and spoken to the manager and manager has said point blank said no I should of told them this while it was going on. They now have £100 of my DF money and we have no amazing food Sad
We've been a few times previously and I loved it, that's why he bought it.
So AIBU in thinking they could of extended it for extra 2 weeks? I know it's my fault for not reading the small print.

Didn't think of that actually @CircleSquareCircleSquare

Had no response as of yet. I don't think I will but your help is very much appreciated.
I'm amazed by the twitter support.
I'm so disappointed had brilliant experience on previous occasions and it's a place special to us, we save to go there because we know we won't be disappointed but they've let us down this time.

There's a MPWBirmingham as well. Hope it turns out well for you OP

That's an educational establishment.

Will retweet for you op.

TroubledTribble28 · 04/04/2018 23:54

I retweeted for you earlier op and just wanted to say that I always get what I want (ie, a decent level of service) in the end by making my voice heard. Write a letter if you have to! Don't give up, all the best with your health Flowers

Weezol · 05/04/2018 08:09

Bumping to harness the power of Mumsnet!

Frazzled2207 · 05/04/2018 09:21

I'll retweet.
If you get as far as arguing with them then If the voucher is advertised as being valid for 6months then you were missold, though that's not really the point, just an add-on factor

4yearsnosleep · 05/04/2018 10:01

Tag @marcopierrewhite in the conversation asking if he's happy that his restaurants are treating customers that way

KizzyBear · 05/04/2018 10:14

Well no response yet. I honestly don't think they care, they've already got the money so it's no skin of their nose, so we will probably cancel the table we've already booked. I've searched twitter for Marco himself and by the looks of things I don't think there's a verified account for him.

I've looked up that fiesta del asado. Looks nice I think we will go there.

OMG that is terrible! Hopefully some nice restaurant owner will read this and offer you a slap up dinner at their place.
When my husband was diagnosed with the big C a few years ago we had a holiday booked through Homeaway with Monarch flights. The Homeaway apartment owner said he couldn't refund us but could offer us a stay whenever my husband was up to it, and Monarch also said they would give us flights to the same value at a later date. Neither of them required any medical letters and both of them honoured what they had said the following year. That is customer service. I cannot believe a restaurant chain would steal your money and want all this hoopla. Tres bad do MPW.

SofieMonde · 05/04/2018 10:22

Have you tried his son's social media? :) Or katie hopkins

SofieMonde · 05/04/2018 10:26

[email protected] (for model bookings...and now customer complaints lol)

athingthateveryoneneeds · 05/04/2018 10:29

Have retwoted. Or is it retwatted? Grin

MadMags · 05/04/2018 10:30

Kizzy, I really don’t think retweeting a thread will get a response. Most people won’t click into it and bother reading it.

KizzyBear · 05/04/2018 10:32

I haven't got the balls to message the man himself! 😂 have you seen his old series of Hell's Kitchen?

Do it KizzyBear. You are not angling something for nothing. They have your money. Do it. We are behind you

suckysnow · 05/04/2018 10:37

I can’t twitter very well but have retweeted your original post, sod not having the balls to tweet him direct though - purely from a business point of view he should want to know! As an aside, I went for my birthday and it was horrendous. They brought the wrong starters, forgot my main completely then said they had made up a different dish for another diner and I could have that while I waited for my main so my partner didn’t eat alone. Other diner complained (understandably!!) and it was just all round a bit of a disaster! We had had wine and just thought sod it, we could get pissed off or find it funny, and chose the latter - but for a £150 bill, I did expect better!

saladfingers · 05/04/2018 10:39

Retweeted several times for you OP. Surely they will reconsider. Otherwise I'm sure the press will be interested in this story. Give them 24hr then we could step it up a gear? Smile

SofieMonde · 05/04/2018 10:40

Am suprised the Daily mail isnt all over this already

KizzyBear · 05/04/2018 10:43

I'm not down for the daily mail sad face though 😁
There's so many @ accounts for his restaurants.

WellThisIsShit · 05/04/2018 10:56

Oh dear, I hope this gets sorted out. I’m hoping it’s one arsey manager who can be over ruled very easily when and if you can bring it to the right persons notice. I’m not on twitter but I hope you’ve got the right addresses and someone ruddy notices!!!

Daily Mail, do something useful please?!

perroy · 05/04/2018 10:57

This is one time I want the DF to carry a story

3asAbird · 05/04/2018 11:02

Retweeted and i have 420 followers

Good luck hope you get it sorted.

KizzyBear · 05/04/2018 11:07

The cheeky bar stewards have just sent me an email to say Thankyou for booking a table and to check out the voucher deals! Trolling me aren't they? 😭

OP posts:
KizzyBear · 05/04/2018 11:08

Aw, I've had nothing but good experiences tbh but I have heard of people complaint. They did this for us on our last visit as a nice touch.

I hope you get this sorted op. That’s shitty customer service and can’t believe they asked to see your private medical information.
