To expect a teeny bit better from a big name?

Totally prepared to be told I AIBU and I know it's a first world problem but my DF purchased DP and I a £100 voucher for Marco Pierre whites steakhouse for us to treat ourselves due to me being in and out of hospital since the beginning of December with abnormal cells found on cervix turning out to be CGIN and other issues with my womb.
We finally got around to booking last night to kind of celebrate the end of a shitty few months and I've only just read the small print. It expired on 31st March
I called the restaurant to ask kindly if they would mind extending it due to circumstances the women that answered was kind and said that would be fine if I could send proof of results and hospital appointments (which I was happy to do.)
She's then gone of and spoken to the manager and manager has said point blank said no I should of told them this while it was going on. They now have £100 of my DF money and we have no amazing food
We've been a few times previously and I loved it, that's why he bought it.
So AIBU in thinking they could of extended it for extra 2 weeks? I know it's my fault for not reading the small print.

I've heard the one in Leicester is shite, so maybe it's a bit of a hit and miss at some places. They've opened one up my way Warwickshire area I've heard good things about that one.

Oh yes, wine. I'll be consuming lots of that.

But in all fairness I'm a right commoner so maybe I'm just hyping the food up?

If anyone wants an update, it was shite. Everyone was just rude 😤
Manager kept walking past the table and literally turning her head to give me evils 😮
The waiter was lovely though couldn't fault him, although we presented the voucher when we arrived they gave us the full bill at the end and when we said oh we have a voucher, he went off and there was lots of whispering manager came over swiped the money owed of the table and huffed off.
I wouldnt go back if someone paid me.

That's terrible, I'd review wherever possible with a detailed description of the issues. I know from your experience already that they don't care about bad publicity but it will save other people from wasting their money

Wow, that's shocking. Definitely leave public reviews for that. I wouldn't feel at all bad about leaving a factual stinker of a review after all that. You'll be doing people a favour letting them know not to spend their money there.

I thought this was resolved. Not the sort of place I’d go to anyway but if I had the choice I certainly wouldn’t after reading your experience. I agree with others about leaving a review, mentioning in particular the rude manager and the nice waiter if you know their names.

Not sure how helpful it is OP but I found the service appalling when I visited so it might not be personal. Slow, inattentive and unfriendly despite being a week night and pretty quiet. I’ve never been back.

I took comfort in the fact that there was ALOT of empty tables. Service has definitely declined compared to how it was 18 months ago.
Lamb tasted like it was microwaved 🤮
Quite a few loud hen and stag groups in the bar area we literally had to shout to be heard just wasn't nice experience what so ever.

I do recommend the hotel though 😁 free spa!!
