Surprisingly good cheap products.

Posting for traffic.

I've recently got a few bits online that people have recommended for being cheap but really good for what they are. Latest purchases are a really good liquid eyeliner from Amazon for £0.64 and a baby bath seat that should be £20 but was £9.99 inc delivery!

So out of curiosity and wanting to get some stuff has anyone got any recommendations of surprisingly good products they've bought really cheaply?

Not asking for anything particular just anything that comes to mind.

Superdrug's Brightening hot cloth cleanser, like LE's cleanse and polish but a third or less of the price.
Aldi's lacura Arian oil, Q10 moisturiser, all the fake shampoos/ conditioners, their vintage cheddar is lovely.
Aldi or Lidl's food composting bags to go in the kitchen food caddy. Half the price of the big supermarkets and so much bigger with proper handles.

SluttyButty - Agreed, the Lidl and Aldi Vintage Somerset Cheddars is amazing, hard to go back to regular Cathedral City etc. once you've had some

SluttyButty · 08/04/2018 15:53

Yep starkid, I tried some cathedral city a few weeks ago because we'd run out of cheese and the local coop is a couple of mins away compared to 15 walking to Aldi. I just thought, how did I think this cheese used to be the best.

Poundland liquid eyeliner is really good. Everyone raves about it. It really lasts well

MissMarplesKnitting · 09/04/2018 09:34

I bought one of these little cloud keyring holders for £2.

I'm more pleased with it than I really should be for that price.

It's super strong, and I haven't misplaced my keys since I got it Grin

I have an app called Joom and it is full of bargains! Everything comes from China so there is a few weeks to wait for delivery but if you’re not in a rush for it it’s really good. I got a pot of Ben Nye banana powder for £1.50. It’s usually about £12 and it’s good quality. I also got a pack of baby feet for 90p. Great for make up, toiletries etc.

wakemeupbefore · 09/04/2018 09:54

Am I missing something here? PP on page 1:

'Boots essentials make up wipes. £1 each but usually on 2 for £3. Especially the ones in the pink packet'

Confused
littlepill · 09/04/2018 10:54

Think that PP meant 3 for 2! I’ve seen them as 3 for £3, too...

KichenDancefloor · 09/04/2018 11:52

Primark opaque tights are good.

I've got the climate control ones Hmm
They are £5 for 3 pairs and wash really well, have the right amount of stretch and don't bobble. I'm not sure about the climate claims as I'm usually indoors next to a radiator when I wear them for work!

starkid · 09/04/2018 11:52

I bought the Aldi clicky-pen concealer people were talking about previously in the thread and can't say I was impressed! The pen itself was difficult to use to apply the product, just ended up with a big blob so had to use my fingers to spread better, and wouldn't say the coverage was great...

Prefer Primark or Collection for cheap concealers

bastardlyandmutley · 09/04/2018 12:36

I really rate the Poundland liquid eye liner too. It has staying power and I like the shape of the applicator brush.

I actually use quite a lot of Poundland make up (lip liner, mascaras, blushers, neutral eye shadow, eye brow pencil) though I'm not a make-up expert so wouldn't vouch for how good these products are!

I adore the Wilkos primer in the pink tube.

crimsonlake · 09/04/2018 14:18

I have just been out and bought Lash Surge mascara by Collection which was recommended on here. I used to buy Lancome mascara, the shape of the mascara tube is identical to that and indeed does seem very good. If it works well I shall be very happy as it will be at least a £20 saving.

stressedoutfred · 09/04/2018 15:27

Aldi dishwasher tablets, bargain at £3 odd a box and work as well as branded !

As others have said pretty much anything from Wilkos, particularly the cleaning wipes

peacheachpearplum · 09/04/2018 15:29

Aldi q10 night cream i love it 2nd vote for this, it is really good.

wildbhoysmama · 09/04/2018 16:14

Loving this thread! Has anyone got a good recommendation for mascara for sensitive eyes? I used to use Lancôme, but got too pricey. Been using No7 which is okay, but it's not brilliant and still £11/12 for something not brilliant.

Afonavon · 09/04/2018 16:22

Avon eyebrow pencil Glimmerstick is better than Benefit and only £2/£3 pounds

Lidl and Aldi chocolate is nicer than any other chocolate and cheaper.

Lidl Popchips are nicer than branded Popchips and only around 80p

Lidl Sourdough loaf is lighter than regular sourdough and has the tastiest crust ever. And it only costs £1.09

m0jit0 · 09/04/2018 17:32

Love Aldi's "no 3" room diffusers- look and smell almost the same as the jo Malone pomegranate noir ones but a fraction of the cost.

WeeM · 09/04/2018 18:16

I got a pair of sunglasses in Aldi the other day, wore them today and they are fab! Much better for glare than my expensive pair!

WeeM · 09/04/2018 18:16

They were £3.99

Whyareyoudoingthat · 09/04/2018 18:20

Wilko for just about everything! Especially their 'essence ' makeup

Afonavon · 09/04/2018 18:58

Lidl’s own brand Weetabix is prefered by DD

Aldi’s version of Special K, called Benefit is nicer and much much cheaper. We make special trips to bet the cereal as nothing touches it, not even SK itself.

Lidl’s veg are much fresher and cheaper than the big supermarkets around here.

Lidl’s own brand mature cheddar is much nicer than Cathedral City.

FoofFighter · 09/04/2018 19:02

Bought a Poundland eyeshadow crayon thing today, it's really good!

sycamore54321 · 09/04/2018 19:34

I love the fresh flowers in Aldi. When I lived near one, I'd buy the €1.99 small bunch of pink lilies - they would last for about 3 weeks and it felt so luxurious to always have fresh flowers in the house. For pennies a day.

SubtitlesOn · 09/04/2018 20:20

I am wanting cheap BIOLOGICAL CLOTHES WASHING LIQUID

Do I want WILKO or LIDL or ALDI??????

Coulddowithanap · 09/04/2018 20:27

We don't like the cheap Lego, poor DS got some for his birthday and he was so sad as it wouldn't clip together properly and kept falling apart.

Our bargains include Lidl and Morrisons nappies, so much better than pampers (we always found them leaky).
