Surprisingly good cheap products.

Posting for traffic.

I've recently got a few bits online that people have recommended for being cheap but really good for what they are. Latest purchases are a really good liquid eyeliner from Amazon for £0.64 and a baby bath seat that should be £20 but was £9.99 inc delivery!

So out of curiosity and wanting to get some stuff has anyone got any recommendations of surprisingly good products they've bought really cheaply?

Not asking for anything particular just anything that comes to mind.

'....the dentists have big free pots of toothpaste - nice stuff Oral B - no less. When the receptionist looks away, you can just tip the lot into your handbag!'

That's not a cheap product, that's you being an absolute cheeky cheapskate. So no one else gets to the try the toothpaste because you greedily took it. And you think they're not going to twig it's you? People like you are the reason nice things like this get taken away.

Poundland highlighter and contour sets are great and the Primark make up and brushes I love too. I don't like the Primark eyeliner many people rave about but I've used powder, eyeshadows, brow filler and various brushes and like them all.

The Lidl £4 perfume is pretty nice for a simple everyday one, I work from home but still like to wear perfume every day so it's perfect for me.

Also Lidl, their champagne is lovely and only around £11 per bottle. Had the prosecco which is nice too and cheaper, but I prefer the champagne.

Tesco do (or at least did) a BB cream in their £1 section which I love for lighter make up days, it's been a while since I bought any as I stocked up last year so hopefully they still do it. My teen loves it too.

Second the Aldi click pen style concealer. I’m pretty sure it actually came out above Touché Eclat on Gok Wan ‘How to look good naked’ blind test a few years back! Stock up whenever it comes into store.

I love face oils - any recommendations for a good cheapie?

The Ordinary make-up.
Co-Op orange oil fairtrade chocolate.
Waitrose Hungarian white wine at £5 per bottle.
TK Maxx for high-end discounted chocolate. Just finished off a box of posh Japanese sake truffles!

Superdrug Colours hair colour. It's a shampoo, dead easy to use, and cheap.

While we are all in Aldi buying our click pen concealer don’t forget to pick up their chocolate which is much better than Cadbury.

Wilco fake tan. I think it’s called St Moritz and looks like SAN Tropez bottle.

Aldi Fruit and Fibre cereal is FAR nicer than Kelloggs.

The Ordinary skincare is highly regarded but you do have to know a little bit about what you're ordering.

Asda's Little Ones nappies are better than Aldi imo. DS is hardly ever wet in the morning since we changed.

Aldi Towels and Tampons

Aldi shower gels and shampoos

Tinkobell I like the cut of your jib Grin
How cheap do you want to go? How about free stuff! Sachets from cafes etc. The other day I found a Sharpie marker lying in some mud in the woods - they cost a couple of quid! Made my day! Grin
I also help myself at the dentists, but usually only take four : two from reception and two from the hygienist.

Boots aqueous cream for shaving cream. 500ml for £3.59, lasts for months and DS and his sensitive skin swear by it.
Facial oils, I wouldn't want to use something cheap for the sake of it, but cheaper than the big names is Herbfarmacy rose and mallow facial oil is £7 for a 5ml travel size as a treat / emergency product. It's a winter lifesaver.

I second oil of Olay, it’s lovely on my skin. Sainsbury’s basics full flavour cheddar cheese tastes just the same as cathedral city and at £3 for a great slab, you get more for your money. Waitrose grapefruit hand wash, shower gel and bubble bath at £1 each is just as good as The Body Shop grapefruit products.

Elvive extraordinary clay shampoo and conditioner - amazing stuff - better than the expensive stuff my hairdresser pushed on me....

Palmers coco butter moisturiser is better for my skin condition than the £30 stuff from Boots.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid (foundation) £8.99. Lots of colours, good coverage, great for my dry, ageing skin and doesn't look or feel like cracked mud after an hour. Wish I'd discovered it sooner, would have saved me a fortune.

You asked about cheap facial oils. The boots botanics organic facial oil is excellent. 100 % organic. Smells lovely. Great reviews online. It's around 12 pounds but is sometimes on offer.

I've discovered Collection Lash Surge Mascara - it's great for £4.99, best than a lot of the more spendy brands.

Lidl W5 wipes
Lidl glasses cleaner sachets

And Duchess yyy to the Sainsburys basic full flavour cheddar. DH picked up some in error when he did the shopping the other week and it is lovely - we buy it in preference now.

Asda have a great roll-on antiperspirant for 30p or something. Also their own brand lime shower gel is lovely at 33p.

Savers have a very nice tinted moisturiser/blemish concealer for 1.99, as good as the expensive brands. I also get a John Frieda Beautiful Blondes spoof from them for 99p a tube!

Primark are doing a range of Jo Malone knock off perfumes for £8 at the minute which smell identical and last all day.

Wilkos do these fantastic lipsticks at £2.30 which go on like a lipstick but look like a rich gloss on, and last on the lips for ages (they have a clear, coloured, lid) and it means I can still wear red lippy well into my 40s without it staining or seeping into fine lines.

Astral - after two decades of wearing all things Clinique, I bought an emergency pot from a Savers as it was the only place open one Sunday and I’ve never looked back. A dollop in the morning after my shower and a dollop in the evening before bed. My skin feels soft and well moisturised.

The Waitrose Pure skin care range is great, and cheap as chips, all around £5. @Ryder63 , it has a lovely facial oil too.
