78 pensioner arrested for fatally stabbing burglar in his own home

SShaming · 04/04/2018 12:20

2 burglars break into a 78 year old man’s home armed with screwdriver.

Forces owner into the kitchen whilst one of them goes upstairs.

A fight ensues, leaving pensioner with injuries to his arm and burglary is fatally stabbed. Perhaps with his own screwdriver although this is TBC.

Police arrest pensioner.

On what planet is this right?

penguin Very dew housebreakings result in injury.

And I don’t believe for a second the police advised you to carry a knife. Didn’t happen.

Believe what you like it did.

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:11

Then complain about them.

SaucyJane · 04/04/2018 22:12

If there's a trial, it'll cost the tax payer a fortune. Money that could be better spent elsewhere than on a thieving little scrote who broke into a pensioner's house at night with a weapon - but it still has to be done in case my assessment above is totally wrong. Which it could be, however compelling the circumstantial evidence. That's why we have laws!

(But the suggestion that the pensioner might have set it up.... just wtf??! How would anyone benefit from that unless they were a beneficiary under a will or life insurance policy that the thief won't have had!)

it must be lovely to live in your part of the world. One of the last known wave of burglaries around here sent people in hospital, after being tortured with irons and others pleasantness. A couple of elderly people did die in these attacks.

I know I know, you haven't heard from them on your local paper, so it never happened. Again, it must be nice to be you, blissfully ignorant of the shit that happens around the country.

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:17

ikeep This will stump you. I have been a cop for nearly 16 years. I have a fairly good idea about crime.

CookPassBabtridge · 04/04/2018 22:18

I hope he is released soon. If someone came into my home I would get the grizzly mother bear rage and use whatever was at hand to defend myself.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 04/04/2018 22:20

some of your comments make me seriously doubt it Nicknacky

Bluelady · 04/04/2018 22:21

Doesn't look much like the frail little old man he's been painted by all the bleeding hearts sympathising with him.

BertrandRussell · 04/04/2018 22:21

Oh of course you can't just kill other people with no consequences. Of course he has to be arrested and charged- he *murdered^ someone!

penguinsandpanda · 04/04/2018 22:21

I wouldn't want to complain about him, he was just being honest about the situation, told me police couldn't guarantee my safety and a lot of attacks were being hidden to not scare the public and there was one a night and one girl scarred for life. There was a murder in my road and three murder posters up for different people at one point so don't think it was inaccurate.

The only thing that I did think was bad was telling me a man had been arrested but then not telling me he had been released without charge.

JustDanceAddict · 04/04/2018 22:22

Burglars are scum of the earth - having been burgled myself it’s really a horrendous experience (thankfully I wasn’t in the house). I hope the old man is released without charge.

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:22

ikeep read thorough my comments and identify any that would be outrageous for a cop to say. Take my word for it or advance search me.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 04/04/2018 22:22

Sorry Job - I hadn’t realised you were quoting someone else in an earlier post.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 04/04/2018 22:23

Of course he has to be arrested and charged- he murdered^ someone!*

CHARGED? charged for what exactly? Ever heard of self-defense Bertrand?

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:23

penguin there is no way on gods green earth that a cop would have told you to carry a knife.

SaucyJane · 04/04/2018 22:25

"Bleeding hearts" for sympathising with someone who faced 2 armed burglars in his own home at night??? Hmm

You post some very daft stuff in your desperation to be liberal, bluelady. But you've excelled yourself there. Wonder how you'd feel if you were lying in bed at night, listening to armed strangers breaking in and rifling through your things.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 04/04/2018 22:25

officially...

penguinsandpanda · 04/04/2018 22:26

You know every cop then do you? Where you in my living room?

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:26

Even unofficially. If they did then they need disciplining.

Bluelady · 04/04/2018 22:26

Of course there isn't. No police officer would recommend that someone should carry an offensive weapon. Some of the crap on this thread is breathtaking.

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 22:27

I know plenty of cops. And I know there is no way any decent police officer would advise this, if they did then they need reporting.

penguinsandpanda · 04/04/2018 22:30

Another person in my living room in a world of perfectly behaved criminals who thinks they know more than the person who experienced it.
