The thread continues....if it hasn't continued elsewhere! @Lateforall it was me who questioned Lobella loves depression wears lippy campaign. I get that the idea is that being a bit glam might be a way of coping. And i have been guilty of putting my face on to carry on in the world. I get that not everyone with pnd is sat at home in pjs unshowered with greasy hair. But I just find the whole thing so false on her account - maybe that is because I know of her in real life.

But I think so many of them have massivley over exaggerated aspects of their lives because it sells. Whether that is FODs clumsy parenting or whatever. But it really doesnt sit well

It's like with magazines and such. You find one you do like, that's more you, surely?
I hate racing for example. So I just wouldn't read a racing magazine.
Because it's not to my taste.

IsThisAWindUp · 02/04/2018 13:42

I like hurrah for gin

CadyHeron · 02/04/2018 13:43

Hurrah for Gin's ace Grin

IsThisAWindUp · 02/04/2018 13:44

But I do like them. I can relate to most of them and find them pretty funny and entertaining. I just don’t like some of their tactics.

RunMummyRun68 · 02/04/2018 13:46

CadyHeron you are here on this thread and the previous 4, constantly.... do you have a life at all ?

CadyHeron · 02/04/2018 13:47

runmummy - so are you. Your name keeps cropping up. You've been on the threads constantly too.
Do you have a life?

PavlovaPrincess · 02/04/2018 13:48

@IsThisAWindUp I admire your tenacity but I think you're up against a brick wall with certain posters.

Glad someone's mentioned 'Tiny Idiot'. I hate it. It's awful language to use about a child. What happens if her kid sees that in later life?

Mumofkids · 02/04/2018 13:48

I don't like Hurrah for Gin at all 🤣 And I like Judgy Dog but I would not buy a book called Why Mummy Drinks! Quite possibly because a family member is always posting 'is it wine o clock' and glasses of wine. It's tedious. And if they posted a joint or cigarette it would be frowned up so why do it with alcohol. But aware I'm in minority, so I just don't follow people who do that regularly.

CadyHeron · 02/04/2018 13:49

The previous 4? A quick look says that really isn't true. It's only the past couple that I joined the thread.
It's the Bank Holiday weekend. No work. Not much to do.Few afternoon day out trips. Bit of MN'ing as well in between/on an evening.
How's your's going?

instabum · 02/04/2018 13:50

I've noticed a few travellers who say 'hosted' when I suppose this should be #ad?

PavlovaPrincess · 02/04/2018 13:50

@Mumofkids I'm with you, actually. But I think we're probably in a minority.

PavlovaPrincess · 02/04/2018 13:51

@instabum yes, I think 'hosted' should be an ad.

MadameGrizzly · 02/04/2018 13:51

Hurrah for Gin very rarely showed her children's images, I can't recall their names and I don't remember any details of their home or even their location.

Her moaning was general, not specifically about her named and videoed children, and the anecdotes were clearly being used a comedic device not a personal debrief to 100k followers.

Mind you, she has almost disappeared now the books have been published and her kids are older.

IsThisAWindUp · 02/04/2018 13:51

I loathe the whole ‘wine o clock’ thing and I don’t ‘do’ gin personally. I do have a soft spot for Hurrah for Gin though. It’s unfortunate that she has spawned a lot of unfunny imitations.

MadameGrizzly · 02/04/2018 13:55

Agree that hosted should be #ad as the instagrammer won't post a poor review so the brand has control over content.

Also agree that the 'mummy needs a drink' has been done to death and is completely tedious.

RunMummyRun68 · 02/04/2018 13:56

cady I'm at work on a lunch break.....same with yesterday and day before!!

So,Er, yes. Your posting history on these threads is prolific....over invested much?

RunMummyRun68 · 02/04/2018 13:57

madamegrizzly I agree with that!

CadyHeron · 02/04/2018 13:58

bit over invested if you keep popping back to the threads every time you're on a break. You'd think you'd have something better to do.
I have insomnia. I like to read. MN usually at the minute which is why I've been on late. Not that it's anything to do with you really.

RunMummyRun68 · 02/04/2018 14:00

I only go on threads I'm on because I don't have time to look around active....and this threD is always at the top of TIO! Always

auditqueen · 02/04/2018 14:31

the use of feminism and the sisterhood to sell, well, everything;

This. But it's only one very narrow form of feminism- one that is white, middle-class, aspirational, faux professional mummyhood; one in which going on endless holidays and buying, or being gifted, expensive items is seen as empowering women. It's not feminism as most women either want or recognise it to be.

Not all women are white
Not all women are affluent
Not all women are married to affluent men
Not all women are parents

Areyouinthegame · 02/04/2018 14:32

Its a bit like Emily rajtatowski flaunting her naked body and telling us how empowered she is. Hmm

auditqueen · 02/04/2018 14:40

Yes that too. If being empowered means getting pissed, taking my clothes off and accusing everyone who objects that thy are jealous haters, whilst cultivating my fangirls with nauseating slogans.......then I'll stay as I am thanks.

Mumofkids · 02/04/2018 14:52

Actually love FOD's story today 🤣

(Although after I've written that now paranoid it's an ad 🤦🏻‍♀️ And I've missed it)

CertainlyChoco · 02/04/2018 14:56

CadyHeron you are here on this thread and the previous 4, constantly.... do you have a life at all ?

Ahh I am not the only one who wonders.... #instagroupie

Mumofkids · 02/04/2018 15:23

Someone I really like and follow has done a photo of trying to have a poo with a baby sat on the floor. 🙈

Step too far or showing normal life? Not sure I want to unfollow but not sure that's what I follow for.
