Following on from Instamums 3.2

OP posts:
CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 22:21

The amount of extra engagement from all the name dropping must be AMAZING.
I bet they love this thread. Then people wonder why big businesses want to get on board with them? Their reach from mummies on MN lusting over or hating some of the clothes will be outstanding.
With each name drop the hits must go through the roof as more people go to find them.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:25

Saying 'hun' must be added to the instamum essentials. I don't know anybody who uses that IRL.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:27

And the other one I've mentioned is shetlandruthie. I dream of shetland. No ads there, just views and massive knitted jumpers. And I bet nobody says Hun.

mumof2sarah · 31/03/2018 22:28

Can I have a list of the intamums brought up in these threads that people have took issue with so I can have a ganders for myself please? I'm on the fence about it all so want to do some research to build an opinion for myself x

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 22:29

Yeh Cady some are desperate for the attention so referring to mumsnet for a mention over here.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:29

It's good that we are sharing our likes then isn't it codyheron. Spreading a little bit love ✌🏻

Supernorthernme · 31/03/2018 22:29

@Mumofkids i agree on the mental health thing. It is tough. And if someone they are suffering and it is glad that they can share. But it does sometimes feel like a usp rather than an actual illness sometimes - the instamums all seem to have a 'thing'. Anxiety or lots of kids or flexible working (which I love!) And pnd seems to be just one of those things without feeling particularly genuine. It seems to be about wanting to put their story out there...and sell you lots of stuff

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:32

And not forgetting mother pukka

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 22:33

I really appreciate how dad lab makes it clear he reached out to the brand for something. They usually send him a few products and he keeps some and does giveaways for some. This keeps viewers engaged while raising profile of the brand and profiting him self.

danielleparry · 31/03/2018 22:33

@Fruitbowl2 mother pukka is a good egg tho ✅✅✅

TheChocolateTeapot · 31/03/2018 22:37

I find MOD truly bizarre - happy to trade on her midwife credentials (though my sil, who has worked as a full time midwife for 30 years might beg to differ) but totally unwilling to engage on the mental health aspects of monetising her children for the next freebie. And her husband - just bizarre. So clearly about the money, lacking any kind of usp and just trite beyond belief.

danielleparry · 31/03/2018 22:38

Ok sorry. Not down with the kids. What does USP mean?

ObiJuanKenobi · 31/03/2018 22:39

Unique selling point

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 22:41

I tell you what is bizarre. Saying something's trite, but still following/watching the feed. Surely you'd engage with ones you actually like?
I'd find myself instagrammers I actually like.
If she is about the money, so what? It's perfectly legitimate to be so even if you don't like it.

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 22:42

It is coming across as she really hasn't done anything wrong. Just that some have a real issue with what she does for a living even though it actually has nothing to do with them.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:42

Agreed Danielle. But she has featured and appeared loads in the thread.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:43

Cool, who do you like Codyheron?

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 22:44

I think its just gone to their heads grabbing every opportunity left right and centre it looks exhausting. But at the same it would be difficult to resist. It just doesn't look like they are enjoying it anymore.

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 22:46

Im guessing Cady lives mod and fod Grin

Stellastartsitall · 31/03/2018 22:46

Loves

CadyHeron · 31/03/2018 22:46

I'd never heard of them before this thread.

Fruitbowl2 · 31/03/2018 22:48

Had you heard of the others mentioned Cady?

TheChocolateTeapot · 31/03/2018 22:48

You are actually right CadyHeron - i don't follow any of them but i do watch from time to time. This whole ASA debate interests me and so they are now on my radar. I think it is good to expose yourself to total, shameless, marketing if only so you can call it out for what it is. My choice, I guess.

Mumofkids · 31/03/2018 22:49

@Thechocolateteapot I think that is the general overall consensus, but in the insta world, she is now a fully fledged grammer and that is her job and what her account is about. Neither of them have engaged with or addressed that topic and it's their business, their kids. Until use of children and privacy is addressed by law they are free to do that as many other types of reality star do. Perhaps that won't be regulated until there's been fall out. The majority of followers to her account are no longer the blog, midwife followers, they follow the instamum (and dad) so if they are being open with ads and not dishing out too much information on their kids there's not much to say. It's a shame her account has lost the midwifery/nursing/care side but it's obvious the money and perks are elsewhere.
