Following on from Instamums 3.2

OP posts:

fod must constantly be distracted when with the twins thinking "this'll be a good post", constantly! It must be so tiring and a bit sad

It literally takes seconds to upload a picture to Instagram.
Take a photo (one click), and onto the IG app - two clicks and you're done.
Over and done with in about 20 seconds max.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 30/03/2018 20:33

Do you honestly think those carefully curated and hashtagged instagram posts take 20 seconds? And that they are all entirely spontaneous?

Fruitbowl2 · 30/03/2018 20:34

But the thread isn't about other celebrities? If we start on child safety in general, maybe that would be relevant.

That's what we've been discussing though. And what you all profess to be so concerned and bothered about. The privacy of the children.
So it kind of is relevant then.

nipersvest · 30/03/2018 20:38

@cadyheron that may be the case for ‘normal’ instagram users but have you actually looked at FOD’s feed?? A lot of his posts are staged, edited, captioned mini movies, not off the cuff posts.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 20:39

It literally takes seconds to take a photo. They could quite easily upload them a few at a time a bit later on after thinking through the hashtags.
You don't know. You just think you do as you watch them so much.

IsThisAWindUp · 30/03/2018 20:39

Other celebrities (inc some of them mentioned already) have been criticised quite heavily in the past for over sharing of their children and as others have said it’s nowhere near the extent or as uncontrolled as it is on Instagram.

IsThisAWindUp · 30/03/2018 20:41

We keep being told how much time it takes to create good content and how much time it takes behind the scenes. Now you’re saying it takes seconds.

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 20:42

Fruibowl I know the thread isn't about other celebs, or child safety really. However since many of the posters on here are happy to slate instagrammers and accuse them of child exploitation and putting their children at risk I thought it was fair enough to point out that, if that is the case l, so are many others who are in the public eye (not just celebs).

ChocolateTea · 30/03/2018 20:42

Tonight's instastories and post weren't from today I don't think. It has been awful weather here, throwing it down all day, and he recorded on a clear blue sky. I wonder if his parents came down to help as he had work commitments hence the quietness.

But I do agree it doesn't take much to put a picture or story up. Even with kids around. And it is part of his job, so he will factor editing time etc into that.

RunMummyRun68 · 30/03/2018 20:43

Another instagrammer in the south posted today about the good weather

It's possible it's today

JessicaPeach · 30/03/2018 20:44

I think with insta stories if you try to upload something more than 24hours old it automatically imprints the date so you know when it was filmed. Not sure though.

PavlovaPrincess · 30/03/2018 20:44

@IsThisAWindUp agreed. We're either being told it takes an age to produce all this content or it takes 20 seconds.

So which is it?

RunMummyRun68 · 30/03/2018 20:45

There's an essay under his 20 second photo and instant answers to questions and comments

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 20:45

Adding a photo does only take seconds. The general admin, dealing with companies, replying to other instagrammers, putting together a more curated piece etc will take up a lot of time. Hence many of the bloggers having said they feel they do really earn anything they get paid.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 20:45

No, just referring to a pp who alluded to the kids must be being neglected or ignored for all the photo taking.
I was just pointing out it takes seconds to upload a photo to Instagram so they're hardly being left to go feral.

jamoncrumpets · 30/03/2018 20:47

God I bet Ramsgate Waitrose just LOVE it when FOD turns up regularly and lets his toddlers run amok while he follows them around with a camera, occasionally turning it on himself to gurn in mock agony.

Depends what content you do, surely? Blog posts, youtube videos, lots of behind the scenes work will go into them.
Pictures on Instagram, you're uploading photos that really doesn't take long at all so no need to fret that the children aren't being seen to.
Youtubers will upload them when the kids nap, or when they've gone to bed/out at school. As that will take a lot more work.

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 20:50

@Isthisawindup

Other celebrities (inc some of them mentioned already) have been criticised quite heavily in the past for over sharing of their children and as others have said it’s nowhere near the extent or as uncontrolled as it is on Instagram.

Really?! I beg to differ, some celebs careers literally revolve around featuring their kids in pretty much everything they do. Some celebs are just so hounded that whether they like it or not their kids ate constantly in the press. No way are any of the kids of instamums as widely known or recognised as any of these celeb kids.

Some of the posters on here seem to make sweeping statements then when challenged admit they know very little about what they've said.

IsThisAWindUp · 30/03/2018 20:52

I think they do earn their money. In spades. Not enough for me to give up my own privacy but that’s their decision to make as to whether it’s worth it or not. I just think they need to make it totally transparent when they are being paid to influence us so I know when I’m being sold to.

IsThisAWindUp · 30/03/2018 20:55

Plenty of celebs manage to keep their children out of the public eye as well. Its entirely a choice for them to make. I hadn’t even seen Kate Moss’s daughter’s face until her wedding photos a few years back.

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 20:55

Who and what are the mummy diaries and this Binky? Reality tv is not what this discussion is about and they are the most disinteresting kind of entertainment imaginable. Are we now saying that these instaparents are reality celebs?

RunMummyRun68 · 30/03/2018 20:56

Binky was in the next advert fallout I believe?

Stellastartsitall · 30/03/2018 20:57

Are you unaware of the absolute abuse someone like Jordan gets. She can do no right. Every thing about her parenting is scrutinized.
