@Isthusawindup and your point is? Many instagrammers also don't post pics of their kids.

IsThisAWindUp · 30/03/2018 20:57

Exactly!

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 20:58

Oh god, I give up.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 20:59

Who and what are the mummy diaries and this Binky? Reality tv is not what this discussion is about and they are the most disinteresting kind of entertainment imaginable.

No idea,I don't follow them so not a clue who they are. This whole thread is a concern about parenting and children in the public eye though,no?

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 21:00

Oh god, I give up

No, no don't, there's still some sense out there lol Grin

Mumofkids

Who and what are the mummy diaries and this Binky? Reality tv is not what this discussion is about and they are the most disinteresting kind of entertainment imaginable. Are we now saying that these instaparents are reality celebs?

If you've read through the posts you'll know why I mentioned the above tv shows. As for instaparents being reality celebs, no, the reality celebs above however do have insta accounts and post very much similar content to many of the accounts that have been mentioned. They also (as far as I can tell) don't always use #ad/gifted etc when they should.

Stellastartsitall · 30/03/2018 21:05

I honestly consider celebs to be a different league they have money for security, PR, legal teams. Instamums don't have vtgat kind of money.

Binky is Alexandra Felstead from Made in Chelsea, snd then Born in Chelsea (I love a bit trashy tv). She also has an insta account with 1.4 million followers. It features her baby and many ads for various brands. Mummy Diaries is Sam & Billie Faires from TOWIE, similar content to Binky.

Stellastartsitall · 30/03/2018 21:08

I really want to see companies and brands pulled up on avoidance of disclosure.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 21:08

Fod and mod are so insanely dull, can’t fathom why they have so many followers.

Do you follow them? You sound like you do if you know that they have "inane expressions" in each photo, not to mention that you know they declare ads.
If you do, it kind of begs the question why you'd be watching their feed in the first place if you find them dull.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 30/03/2018 21:08

You just think you do as you watch them so much.

HmmConfused. I have been on FOD's instagram profile no more than 3 times since the threads started in August I think. There is no way those posts take 20 seconds and from what I have read about FOD on these threads he would no doubt be devastated you thought that! Your position is that it takes 20 seconds to take and upload. So that includes text and hashtags. Not even the world's speediest typist could manage that.

Since you are here though, I understand he live streamed one of his children being carted off to hospital in an ambulance. What are your views on that? I would love to hear you defending the indefensible on that!

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 21:11

@Stellasrartsitall you clearly don't know what you're talking about. The "celebs" I've just mentioned are not in the Elton John, Beckhams etc league of wealth. They don't have security and live in pretty ordinary houses.

farfallarocks · 30/03/2018 21:11

Nah I don’t follow but it’s public so anyone can see it

farfallarocks · 30/03/2018 21:11

Since this thread

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 21:11

@cadyheron the thing is children blessed with reality celebrities for parents do definitely need some support as I can't begin to imagine how disadvantaged they are by having those parents in the first place.
I've no idea why you mentioned them Sofia obviously child protection should be applicable across the board, but you name drop people that most people just don't have on their radar.
Perhaps the biggest difference is reality stars are reality stars and the people discussed here have good professions and jobs and are respected so their choices seem more questionable.

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 21:12

I understand he live streamed one of his children being carted off to hospital in an ambulance. What are your views on that? I would love to hear you defending the indefensible on that!

I'm with you on that one if he did. There's a fine line, and some things are best left unshared.

farfallarocks · 30/03/2018 21:12

Their kids are hugely overexposed. Would you recognise them if you saw them out and about or your kids were at school with them? Yes! Would
You recognise eg Bennedict cumberbatch kids!? No

CadyHeron · 30/03/2018 21:14

I've no idea why you mentioned them Sofia obviously child protection should be applicable across the board, but you name drop people that most people just don't have on their radar

Regardless of whether you've heard of them or not though, the point still stands as they're in the public eye.

Sofialemon · 30/03/2018 21:17

@Mumofkids

I mentioned the celebs I did because imo their insta content is actually quite similar to some of the instamums mentioned here. You come across as either quite a bit older or just a bit out of touch if you are unaware of who any of them are.

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 21:17

I'm just not sure how to process this. But perhaps your opinions and mine are too far apart. And it explains lots of your comments. I know understand where you are coming from.

Mumofkids · 30/03/2018 21:18

@sofialemon neither but trashy reality tv and the people it produces are something I have no time for.

@farfallarocks people now quoting reality celebs I think this thread is derailed. You are quite right, where are David Tenants kids, Catherine Tates? Anyone who is respected.

faceandpalm · 30/03/2018 21:21

I haven’t read back that far so apologies if I get the wrong end of the stick but, in my mind, it doesn’t matter what level the Instagram user is (Instamum / reality star / a-list celeb), regulation should control what / how they post in relation to advertising and children. UK advertising regulation and child protection laws, if enforced properly, would apply to them all.
