Mumofkids I thought I would jump on and firstly say. This is way out of my territory. Out my hands up what I did was vile, disgusting. The deceit upon lies upon deceit I created was all created when I was mentally unwell. Given that's no excuse for my behaviour. Not at all. Just gives it some perspective. In reply to previous post give her her due. She knew nothing about my lies, no one did. I was a very good liar -BPD trait. Borderline personality disorder for anyone who isn't aware. Thank you to any one who looked at the bigger picture whilst I was being torn apart, not saying I didn't deserve. Just stating a fact. all of the posts and poems and hashtags Natasha wrote about me have now been deleted. I do however have the screenshots. I was luckily enough protected from most of it but it is what it is. If I could go back and change it I would but the fact of the matter is I can not. I am facing up to every conqcequence of my previous behaviours rest assured. Thanks again.

"There’s a very clear difference in how this situation has been dealt with by MP and MOD and I think the reason for that difference is the former is clued up on journalists/PR and how to respond to criticism/crisis management. The later doesn’t have any of that experience - she’s a midwife."

This is a really interesting observation.

I would expect a midwife to have higher standards of integrity and ethical behaviour than a journalist (with absolutely no disrespect to journalists! Some of my best friends are journalists!).

Certainly transparent, patient focussed, ethical behaviour would be a huge part of any health care professional's training and registration. A midwife would need to be able to manage crisis situations and complaints, too.

I'm positive that the inherent trust we have in HCPs is one of the ways in which MOD built her significant following and why being a midwife was so important to her brand.

So why isn't MOD 'getting it', whereas as MP is absolutely nailing it?

@ASHADAWES1 I just wanted to say that I didn't know about you and NB until I ve read this thread. But I really feel for you and respect you for the way you have faced the consequences. Mental illness is unendurable and all consuming and selfish. It's also frightening and lonely. People are a lot more understanding when they see the reason for all the hurting so I understand the need to make up a visible illness. That's not to excuse it as it was an awful thing to do but i just wanted to say that I understand and I for one don't judge and I hope you are getting all the help and support you need. People try to romanticise mental illness and I feel minimise it with all the "inspirational quotes" Mental illness is ugly and much more complicated than that.

faceandpalm · 28/03/2018 06:41

Flippin’ ‘eck... MOD’s responses on MP’s post are exactly why these Mumsnet threads exist. Someone get the gal some PR training - it’s painful to watch!

ChocolateTea · 28/03/2018 06:47

I don't have time this morning to read through to find responses, but it is pretty vacant in a reply to MPs message directly to MOD isn't it?

faceandpalm · 28/03/2018 06:49

@ChocolateTea It really is. I better get moving myself - these things are such a rabbit hole 😂 Have a good day!

finks100 · 28/03/2018 07:00

The original issue was the lack of transparency on posts with regards to advertising.
It seems to me that this was then addressed by some but not by others. The issue has since become about the behaviour of bloggers towards those who asked for transparency.
Being called trolls and haters for raising the issue is now the issue! Alll the ladies saying ‘ignore the haters’ really shows the power of these bloggers. Most of the ‘fans’ are chucking positivity at their ‘heroes’ in the faint hope that they get some followers and get to be in the gang.
It’s really simple, declare ‘Ads’ and don’t call people who question you ‘haters’.

Babaloo88 · 28/03/2018 07:06

Oh dear. Reading the responses from MOD I am starting to feel abit sorry for her....

Greenhouseonthehill · 28/03/2018 07:11

Did Mod reply to the comment made by MP about how they are at the heart of it? I’m terrible at negotiating the comments section of IG.

AdidasGirl · 28/03/2018 07:13

No @Greenhouseonthehill

Greenhouseonthehill · 28/03/2018 07:15

Thanks!

Greenhouseonthehill · 28/03/2018 07:15

That would be interesting to read.

VileyRose · 28/03/2018 07:21

What did Clemmie T say?

Fruitbowl2 · 28/03/2018 07:27

Emilykhbland is the stand out person on the MP thread, eh. At least MOD is responding and has now replied on her own post to say she bought the items herself.

Fruitbowl2 · 28/03/2018 07:31

Ash I had never heard about your situation with NB. I'm so sorry you have been unwell and I hope you are getting all the support you need.

Fruitbowl2 · 28/03/2018 07:33

Something vacant about being brave vileyrose

Fruitbowl2 · 28/03/2018 07:34

Clemmie T also missing the point there too.

IsThisAWindUp · 28/03/2018 07:43

I guess the more sensible bloggers will see that having to think more deeply about what they post is a useful form of self reflection, whereas some will view it as a form of censorship. Depends entirely on the bloggers standpoint.

Goingovertosusanshouse · 28/03/2018 07:44

I have name changed for this thread by the way, sorry I should’ve made it clearer from the start.
I knew it wouldn’t be long before Gi would be on NB page. I do find it all very hard to swallow. I feel as if a lot of the women ‘interviewed’ are actually just feeling like most of us do on some days. Maybe that’s the point, I don’t know. I just don’t feel like it’s particular mental health issues in a lot of the cases.
Asha, I do appreciate you coming on here. At first, I won’t lie, I was super angry and pretty disgusted with you but it didn’t last long because, let’s face it, you are ill. I hope you are getting the love and help you need.

Someone mentioned earlier on about Clemmie T and the bankruptcy, it just didn’t feel real. I seriously considered that path but even that dressed it all up.

Goingovertosusanshouse · 28/03/2018 07:45

Brave?! Ffs!

IsThisAWindUp · 28/03/2018 07:49

The comments from emilykbland are spot on. Getting back to your USP is something touched on this and other threads, because a lot of bloggers seem to have lost sight of this. Mod's response puzzles me because she says she is more than a midwife, she is a mother and an author as well. But she writes books about.....oh never mind. I'm still not sure she gets it.

ChocolateTea · 28/03/2018 07:56

I don't actually see anything much wrong with Clemmie Ts response. She sounds like she's just trying to word something late at night, and maybe brave wasn't the best choice of word, but I can see her wondering as she's written if that makes sense

Having been someone who has literally counted out pound coins for gas meters and milk broke, I cannot comprehend that these guys were ever in that position. But I don't know their history or financial situation so can't comment. But as a single mum in a council house, I'm not sure they'd have any idea of proper broke.

PavlovaPrincess · 28/03/2018 08:02

This was spot on from Emilykhbland. Then can't help thinking that MOD totally missed the point again in her reply.
