I have never understood what anyone liked about them and they were on absolutely everything for so long!

Maddy's a bit overdone, in my opinion. I like Mackenzie better - and their mum not at all.

In fact, I liked ALL the girls, they seemed to work so well together (when their mothers were safely corralled upstairs).

Cady I agree with your wider point but many people have made fortunes without any discernible talent. One Direction for example; a group of very good looking young men with average singing voices have really raked it in. I don't blame them; get in where you can!

I watch KUWTK, I often think 'more power to your elbow Kim' - she managed to bring her family fame and enormous fortune on the back of being a pretty young woman that made a sex tape. Similarly to a lot the famous models today whom are considered 'super-models'; they all have links to famous/rich dynasties - they're all very pretty, I don't dispute that, but if my last name was Kardashian I'm pretty sure I wouldn't currently be posting on a thread on MN on a Saturday afternoon .

More to the point, we don't even need to look at celebrities to see this in action; over the years I've worked with very senior people who seemed utterly incapable of doing their jobs properly but yet were still in Director, VP-level roles and associated salaries.

I have no idea about them other than that they seem to be on everything that my kids want to watch and always have been.. but this week I've been puzzled by the hysteria that their reign over Saturday night tv is coming to an end or hiatus.
They are only tv presenters.. why are people so manic about them?

Yeah there HAVE been some great songs on Dance Moms.

I have not noticed anyone being 'manic' nor any 'hysteria' for that matter.

I can't help but think it's a good thing if other presenters will get a look in.

Like Emma Willis providing a very timely relief from that Davina woman who had become ubiquitous in the same way as Ant and Dec.

I've successfully managed to avoid them for 30-odd years (was a bit too old for Byker Grove), and my children (9 & 10) wouldn't have a clue who they are.

We are wholly unaffected by the experience.

yes @kimanda precisely. I've been taken by surprise by the outpourings of love for and despair that Ant and Dec are going to be off our screens for a while.

FairNotFair, that 'Where have all the children gone?' dance sent chills up my spine. The award-winning 'Texting while driving' one was another. I liked the performances but wouldn't download those either.

I really enjoyed the dance they did all wearing gold macs with guns.

It's about time there was a top 100 of DanceMoms dances so we could watch them all again - not the arguments - just the dancing!

I've been told that I do the 'Maddie-face' when I want something... my husband rushes off to do it on the premise that I'll stop doing it.
