I have never understood what anyone liked about them and they were on absolutely everything for so long!

Looking forward to fresh faces and no longer seeing theirs!

I reckon they will be back but I don't think they will be back to how they were as they have ruined their family friendly image and everything that made them successful.

FizzyGreenWater · 24/03/2018 14:10

I simply don't get why people are in a tizz over whether they are on screen or not!

What difference does it make? Either they will 'come back' or equally bland, generic 'tvpresenterbots' will take their cheeky chappy places and it will make NO DIFFERENCE.

They've done as well as they have, ie on every bloody programme, because they are utterly bland. They offend no-one. They have no realy personalities. They will either carry on or be easily replaced.

bbcessex · 24/03/2018 14:13

I think Ant & Dec have been great presenters, are pleasant, excellent family entertainers and have been great at defining their niche and excelling at it.

What I can’t abide is all the ‘get well soon Ant / poor Ant at being pushed back into his millions-paying job too soon’.

It was only luck that no one was injured in that crash. All accounts indicate he overtook a car at speed on bend. He was over the limit - look at the damage to his car - it’s not just a bump.

Drink driving kills and he is bloody bloody lucky that on this occasion, he didn’t.

to be glad Ant n Dec will no longer be on our screens!
ChelleDawg2020 · 24/03/2018 14:17

They'll be back. PJ will be gone for long enough for his image to be rehabilitated - alcoholic celebrities are always welcomed back into the fold, provided they get in control of their addiction. Duncan will probably lie low for a bit after the current series ends. If he goes it alone it risks showing him up as being incapable of presenting alone.

To all those people wishing them away - fair enough, but imagine the dross that will replace them. Sometimes it's a case of better the devil you know...

Lovemusic33 · 24/03/2018 14:20

I don’t watch them apart from ‘I’m a celeb’ but they make me cringe a little. I know lots of people think they are brilliant but I have never seen it myself. I’m sure they will be back though, they have a huge following and Ant has a lot of support from the public regarding his addiction problems.

gillybeanz · 24/03/2018 14:23

totally agree, they are a product that have had their time, lets hope it's a sudden decline.
talentless and obviously did something to get jobs as presenters, otherwise all the children's tv characters would be presenting now.

Nanny0gg · 24/03/2018 14:23

What an unpleasant thread. Who rattled your cage today, OP? Or are you always like this?
So, you don't like him/them. Fine. Why on earth does that mean you're moved to express such pleasure in their current predicament?

^^This. OP Are you not able to use a remote control? No one is forced to watch anything they don’t want to.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 24/03/2018 14:25

YABVU. I love them and can’t wait until they’re back as a pair again.

Nobody forces you to watch them. If you don’t like them, turn the channel over. It really is that simple.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 24/03/2018 14:27

I adored PJ and Duncan's "Stepping Stone" and it's still on my playlist. I'm not a fan of Ant and Dec much because I don't like the programmes they front.

I won't gloat about Ant's situation though; who would actually do that? Schadenfreude might be a real 'thing' but it's ugly and people who indulge in it are, well... not that nice.

I'm glad that nobody was hurt in the incident. These things happen every day of the week but because it's a celeb, it's news for the vapid. I agree with PP about the thigh-rubbing, distasteful in the extreme. Let's hope that the habitual thigh-fondlers never fall from their own elevated graces, eh?

Longislandicetee · 24/03/2018 14:28

Goodness. Aren't you pleasant OPSmile?

GirlsBlouse17 · 24/03/2018 14:30

I liked Ant and Dec on the TV but someone I loved was killed by a hit and run drunk driver so I'm unable to have any sympathy with Ant, but sorry for Dec

kimanda · 24/03/2018 14:31

What makes me laugh is how (some) people seem to love telling people how they have never watched anything with Ant and Dec in, (SNT, I'm a celeb, BGT, etc,) or X factor or Big Brother or The Voice, The Kardashians, Dance moms, or any of the reality TV of any kind. Like it gives them some moral high ground, or makes them better people, more intelligent, or intellectually superior.

Big deal if you haven't ever watched these programmes (if that is even true!) Doesn't make you anything better than those who DO watch them. Hmm

You know these are the supposed cook-from-scratch twats, who CLAIM to give their kids quinoa on toast (with home made organic bread obvs!) And who never let their kids have anything else to drink but mineral water taken directly from the nearest spring! And who think any parent giving their child a mcdonalds should be reported to social services.

Smug, judgemental twonks. Hmm

FairNotFair · 24/03/2018 14:42

@kimanda I don't watch SNT, Big Brother or X Factor; have never seen the Kardashians or The Voice. But I absolutely love Dance Moms and I don't care who knows it Grin

kimanda · 24/03/2018 14:44

@fairnotfair Grin Me too! Dance moms is hilarious. Those women are batshit.

I am not saying everyone who doesn't watch this stuff, is like how I described, but some are. There seems to be an air of smugness with their insistence that they don't watch this 'drivel' like they are somehow superior.

If any ones a smug twonk on this thread its the op whos delighting in some ones mental health deteriation and the damage its done to his career.

CadyHeron · 24/03/2018 14:46

talentless

Hmm

"talentless" enough to have been around for well over 30 years and still extremely popular.
If you say so.

FairNotFair · 24/03/2018 14:46

@kimanda Everyone has their guilty pleasure... but not everyone feels guilty about it!

kimanda · 24/03/2018 14:47

Agree with @naught and @cady's posts above ^

kimanda · 24/03/2018 14:47

@Fair Grin

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 24/03/2018 14:50

Were Ant & Dec ever on Big Brother? I used to watch that religiously - until it changed channels. I never watched the celeb version.

I'm with fairnotfair, DanceMoms is fabulous. I loved watching the girls dancing new dances, so much talent there. Paige was my favourite and her mum, Kelly. Brooke was a little bit too languid for Abbie, I think.

I can't remember one of the later dancers - Sarah(?), she was excellent. Just tiny but incredibly flexible. Her mum was a bit of a battleaxe though, never allowed her to travel on the coach with the others.

I think that Abbie Lee could have done just as an amazing job with out the drama and arguments; the dancing is spectacular in its own right.

Yeah, I do think I am intellectually superior to someone who would write a pile of garbage like this. Got no problem with it!

MinnieMousse · 24/03/2018 14:51

I don't like any of the programmes they front so have largely managed to avoid them. However, I am a bit puzzled by all the love for Ant on FB that I've seen. Most of my friends who've posted things about how hard it must be for him would have far less sympathy for a non-famous drink driver who'd hit a blamelss family car.

FairNotFair · 24/03/2018 14:53

I have to say, I'm loving the Dance Moms love on this thread!

kimanda · 24/03/2018 14:56

Smile The girls on dance moms are good and talented, (most of them!) Especially a lass called MADDY. But the moms are crazeeeeee. I think some of them are living their dream through their kids.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 24/03/2018 15:00

FairNotFair, you'd be amazed at some of the DanceMom songs I've downloaded and can be heard warbling away to in the car.

  • Mackenzie's 'BatCrazy' dance
  • Chloe's 'I Love Only Silence' (award-winning National routine Wink)
  • The bit mawkish but nevertheless fab - 'A Child's Mind' to counter Abbie's meanness...
  • Sarah Lichtenberg - SUPRSTR
  • Looks Are Everything
  • Swagger (Get Your Swagger On)
