To think Stephen Mulhern is a serious contender?

Another Ant and Dec thread but I have been saying for ages that I think SM is a great presenter!

I haven’t seen him mentioned as a contender and was surprised to see Phil and Holly or Cat Deely mentioned but not SM.

Am I the only one that thinks he would be really good presenting SNT?

Rather him than than those ubiquitous ITV goons, Willoughby and Schofield - the last thing those smug bastards need is more airtime

I don’t mind SM but only in short bursts.

Its sad to read that about Ant as i always used to prefer him to Dec and i did like SMTV. I suppose i fell for the ' cheekie chappie, salt of the earth' personas and the jungle was funnier with them presenting it ( even if they didnt write the jokes..)
money and fame goes to their heads i suppose. its a shame.

I think if they ever pair Dec up with anyone it'll be a female to avoid the direct comparisons to Ant.

Doubt it would be Cat Deeley though - isn't she quite heavily pregnant at the moment?

I think Holly Willoughby is more likely than Scarlet she's friends with them, experienced and itv love her! Still hoping for the usually team in different roles!

Let Dec stand on his own and if ITV don't shy away from the reality of the situation I'll have some respect for them. The only difference between a common or garden addict and Ant is mainly budget. I appreciate that, like all addicts, he has underlying issues but it's embarrassing watching people fawn all over his behaviour .

I wonder how they will address it on the show, Ant not being there.

I don't think they will say anything on the show everyone knows what is going on. All info will be released in statements before the show will go on like normal I think

dec might have to finish off the series for cont5ractual reasons but he always said if there isnt ant he wont do it

I honestly don't understand how people can find Ant and Dec annoying but then go on to say they love Steven Mulhern! He was annoying as a kids TV presenter and he's even worse now!

Can't stand the bloke and switch off as soon as he's on the telly. He makes me want to punch something!

Oh joy, more of Scarlett . I liked her on Gogglebox and in the Jungle, but it was obvious they were angling it for her to win, then she does and lands loads of TV work and does bizarre things to her face. I don't like her on SNTA. It feels like they were determined to have her on there and shoved her in this role but there isn't any need for it. Stephen's role is fine, they always had someone presenting Ant vs Dec and I'm glad it's him, I feel the 3 have a good chemistry and it shows on BGT as well. Stephen and Dec would have done well presenting it together.

I wonder what they will do with BGT. Obviously it's all filmed, they can't redo it and they can't cut Ant's bits out. Will Dec present the live shows alone? I don't know that he'll want to and if Stephen steps in, then he possibly wouldn't do BGMT, which I love, although it won't be the same as I love it when he has Ant and Dec on there.

I like Stephen Mulhern & Scarlett Moffatt, so a supporting team of those 2 would work fine for me.

Odds have been slashed for Cat returning to host SNT...I knew that would happen! Ticks all the boxes of being totally different from Ant but still has that connection/nostalgia feel about it 😊

I used to like SM until the last BGT (or was it XFactor?? ) More.... He became so cringy and unwatchable (probably due to what he was instructed to say and do).

But would much prefer him to Scarlett - I’ve got my head up my arse and no personality whatsoever - bloody Moffat or The incredibly insufferable Caroline Flack!

As my username states I hate Dec! I have lost all respect for Ant too now. Time for a new user name I think 🧐
