This is a quote of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon has a number of quotes when Read through the lens of Trump are eerily prescient. Napoleon wasn’t of the same political bent as Trump necessarily, and he was certainly more cerebral, but the lust for power is the same.

The latest bombing is frightening because it appears to be a random placement as opposed to the previous ones appearing to target a specific group. This, IIRC, sort of echoes the Unabomber's early days.

There were recently a few shows on TV about the Unabomber as we are approaching the anniversary of the date of his arrest in April and also the anniversary of his plea deal (January).

The most outrageous thing is that he booted off Facebook? I understand that it betrays facebooks attitude to whistleblowers but wtf. There is so much more that is highly concerning

To be clear: this is @chrisinsilico's work. He gave a dossier of evidence to ICO last month and has been fully co-operating with the authorities...
Facebook has been "co-operative" with ICO says Elizabeth Denham. Cambridge Analytica on the other hand has required them to seek to use their statutory powers to compel evidence....

The headline is provocative but the article itself is interesting and not particularly good for Trump.

I did read it - I know the premise is that his style of leadership is turning people off the ideas they held before such as liking leaders who aren’t accountable and display other authoritarian tendencies but it seems ridiculously risky to play with the framing when he is an authoritarian and the problem is that people are not recognising it. To start introducing the possibility that authoritarianism might not be bad - however obliquely - seems foolish and damaging at this particular point in time.

I didn't get that idea.
More that he's putting off an important section of voters (or potential voters), even though there are entrenched supporters.
Whether it will be reflected on votes come election time, we'll see.

Feeling encouraged by all the exposes, but cynically remain cautious about any important outcome.
