What a stupid boy. Worth 60 million and doesn’t get a taxi. I just don’t know how he’ll come back from this latest fiasco (drink drive car crash hits 3 year old).

I don't understand why his rehab place last year didn't advise or he didn't check whether he was fit to drive.

Alcohol misuse (he admitted he was drinking with the tramadol) would mean he should be written to the dvla to advise of treatment. Licences are then revoked for a year as prentative relapse measure.

And he may not be. Drinking a lot doesn't necessarily mean one is an alcoholic. Nor does driving under the influence.

Although it does indicate a problem. On many levels.

buddhasbelly · 20/03/2018 20:22

But he admitted he was mixing tramadol with alcohol which would be classed as alcohol misuse and would result in a one year licence revoke. It's up to the licence holder to notify the dvla I suppose.

RoseAndRose · 21/03/2018 08:15

How do you know he has admitted that?

WipsGlitter · 21/03/2018 08:31

It's highly possible his "team" decided on the tramadol story as it is more palatable to his family audience than a street drug like cocaine. I read some veiled references to him liking to "party".

Although I though Dec was gay so what do I know!

BishopBrennansArse · 21/03/2018 08:56

@RoseAndRose it was in the interview he gave the sun. Information available in the public domain.

Tralalee · 21/03/2018 09:15

Whenever I hear prescription painkillers I think 'cocaine and booze'

Prescription painkillers sound so much more family friendly

MorningsEleven · 21/03/2018 12:42

He could well be, Elton John married a woman once.

SouthWestmom · 21/03/2018 12:57

Well the last two in the series are going ahead - 'dec' just announced it via 'ant and Dec' on instagram. Wonder how that will be done?

BadTasteFlump · 21/03/2018 13:04

Daily mail are reporting he has not been charged

Mrsfloss · 21/03/2018 14:32

No charge? I can’t understand it

IanRushesInadequateFlushes · 21/03/2018 14:35

I think that refers to the first time he was at the police station.

The metro are reporting he has been "interviewed under caution and released under investigation" - so still nothing definitive on the drink driving point.

italiancortado · 21/03/2018 14:41

He has not yet been charged, the Met Police have confirmed

Has not yet been charged. This is not the same as released without charge. Without charge indicates the matter is over. Not yet been charged indicates the matter is ongoing.

The Police actually investigate before they bring charges, unlike some on Mumsnet who already appear to know what he's guilty of!

CuboidalSlipshoddy · 21/03/2018 15:18

how much 'investigating' is needed?

If they're going to charge him with dangerous driving at the same time (hence the interview under caution) then they need quite a bit more evidence about what happened, which will include statements from witnesses.

Sometimes a breathalyser test is taken at the scene and they are 'only just' over the limit. Then by the time they get to the station to do an 'official' one, they have dropped below. Probably what happened with Ant if he hasn't been charged with anything.

He still caused the accident, but if he was under the limit, and no-one was seriously hurt, then I doubt anything bad will happen to Ant, which will no doubt piss off the torchbearers on their witch hunt.
