What a stupid boy. Worth 60 million and doesn’t get a taxi. I just don’t know how he’ll come back from this latest fiasco (drink drive car crash hits 3 year old).

He didn’t hit a 3 year old 😏

I don’t think his career will be ruined. I think people will get over it. Other celebs have done worse.

He’s had a tough time. I like Ant and Dec.

Bouledeneige · 19/03/2018 00:49

Not entirely sure what his Mum was doing letting him drive!

Not sure really about his career - it also depends if he can get his shit back together - not just whether the the PR machine can revive his cheeky chappie reputation. I'd guess he will need a lot of time to get himself back on track, he looks like he really is in trouble emotionally and mentally.

MsGameandWatching · 19/03/2018 01:02

blimey what a waste of a thread

Are threads a finite thing then? Once they're gone they're gone?

TinDogTavern · 19/03/2018 01:13

It’ll barely scratch his career I reckon. They’re so colossal that, as a PP has said, the PR machine will roll in and it’ll be yesterday’s chip papers before we know it.

I’m not saying it’s right, I’m saying it’s the way it is.

AjasLipstick · 19/03/2018 01:19

I don't think he shoul be on television any more.

EachandEveryone · 19/03/2018 01:20

Im just getting my head around the fact hes worth 60 million. God knows how thats possible and what it must feel like.

WattdeEll · 19/03/2018 02:21

I grew up watching Ant and Dec as PJ and Duncan and have always had a soft spot for them. Feel sorry for Dec though, I know they are insured heavily of one of them dies, wonder if they are insured for the other one going off the rails and damaging their career?

BrendasUmbrella · 19/03/2018 02:22

The 3 yo wasn't injured and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

And that's purely down to luck. That car took quite a hit. This could have been a far worse story, and Ant needs to be treated the same way as anyone else who has done something so stupid and reckless.

It’ll barely scratch his career I reckon.

I don't know about that. Before this the narrative was "poor Ant" who was struggling behind the scenes and was so brave. Now the story has turned a bit darker. He has done something awful and if he isn't made to feel it and is protected from it, what's to stop it happening again?

AjasLipstick · 19/03/2018 02:45

Watt they are both worth millions with vested interests in a range of businesses and properties. I am sure Dec will be just fine.

WattdeEll · 19/03/2018 02:52

That’s true AjasLipstick.

TheSassyAssassin · 19/03/2018 03:19

Like Ant and Dec but have zero sympathy with him for drink-driving. What an idiot Biscuit

HuskyMcClusky · 19/03/2018 03:23

YANBU. And drunk-driving is everyone’s business.

He’s an overpaid tool and I couldn’t care less whether he ‘comes back from it’.

Emily7708 · 19/03/2018 03:33

He’d better pray he’s not charged with drink driving or he’s not going on the end of series jolly to Florida!

Emily7708 · 19/03/2018 03:36

Mind you I’m sure someone with £60m and his contacts can easily make this issue disappear.

sazza76 · 19/03/2018 03:40

Bouledeneige, his mum may not have realised, especially if it was from the night before.

It's a sad situation all round as it would be for anyone. Though I have no sympathy for drink drivers, theres no excuse, I mean it's sad he is in such a bad place. Poor little girl and anyone else he hit, thank goodness it wasn't even worse.

I also don't get what is wrong with the thread. As long as it's not offensive people can post what they like and if others aren't interested they don't have to read it or comment on it.

Andante57 · 19/03/2018 03:49

Obviously his rehab didn't work as I think I'm right in saying if you go to rehab for drugs then you have to give up all mood altering substances including alcohol.
I really like Ant and Dec and I hope he finds help with his addiction problems.

IceBearRocks · 19/03/2018 03:49

I doubt very much that his own mother would condone him driving pissed!!! Quite obviously one if the "had too much the night before moments!"
Seriously this poor guy...who cares how much money he has..it quite clearly can't buy him a pain free exsistance or happiness.
They've lived thier lives out in public since they were children and yes I'm very aware they have made lots of money ...but they have also made lots of sacrifices.
Imagine if you had to play out all your mental health and strength problems to millions of other people!!!!
I hope he gets the opportunity to find himself again.

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 19/03/2018 03:56

It was 4 In the afternoon so if it was from the night before he must have had a shitload to drink. It doesn’t look like his recovery is going well.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/03/2018 05:43

From the thread title, I thought he’d actually driven into a 3 yo. He had a head on collision, which looks as if it was at relatively low speed whilst drink driving. A young child was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. He’s not painting himself in glory and he’s not acting as I would. But this is hardly career changing stuff.

RJnomore1 · 19/03/2018 05:48

Didn't seem to do that twat Rooney any harm. I suspect he will be ok.

Alexkate2468 · 19/03/2018 05:52

You make it sound like he actually hit the child. A bit unfair.

I hope Ant gets the help he needs. Clearly not in a good place. I'm glad nobody actually got hurt.

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2018 05:53

It would be career changing for the average person I think

sweetmonkeys · 19/03/2018 06:01

...but they have also made lots of sacrifices.

^

Aww, diddums.

🙄

HuskyMcClusky · 19/03/2018 06:04

Exactly, sweet!

FGS, plenty of people ‘make lots of sacrifices’ for their jobs, and don’t get paid of millions of pounds for it either. It has fuck-all to do with endangering other people’s lives.

Kitchenbound · 19/03/2018 06:09

@ariesgirl - seriously people get a life its not our business its down to him to sort his problems out! - well by that way of thinking technically MN shouldn't exist because we should all just sort our own problems out and not post online? Why be on MN if thats your attitude?

Ant isn't the first celebrity to be involved in something stupid like this and he won't be the last. Doubt he'll be showing up on tv anytime soon but he'll bounce back from it. Rehab, public apologies etc. Agree though was a stupid reckless thing to do
