Aibu to think he’ll struggle coming back from this (Ant)

What a stupid boy. Worth 60 million and doesn’t get a taxi. I just don’t know how he’ll come back from this latest fiasco (drink drive car crash hits 3 year old).

See his stance on alcohol in his post rehab interview screams alarm bells. Plus if he’s over at 4pm it could be from the night before. A small bottl of gin can be 24 units. The fact he’s back in rehab kind of speaks volume too.

The two people I know personally who were arrested for drink driving were both alcholics, both who’d normalised drinking so much that they didn’t think about the next day. They didn’t get up and have it for breakfast.

Ok flame me, but I really don't understand the investment some people have WRT celebrities at all.

It is just awful gossip, and the worse it appears, the more the posts and comments appear.

Let them deal with their own demons FGS. Maybe if there wasn't so much press hounding and Daily Mail etc. sensationalism the man would be ok. Just saying.

Real life applies to these people too. Sorry if I sound like I am preaching or something, but honestly.

Next week it will be someone who has lost weight, gained weight, baby fat, body shaming, bikini bodies, and so on. Anything for a picture.

I'd rather be penniless than be these people. But some seem to handle it well.

Interesting comments painkiller vs cocaine. I did wonder the same. I only know two people who’ve been to rehab and I suspected both said alcohol or painkillers when id known there was other substances at play.

Well this proves the point that i made on the other thread.

I posted there that female celebs who dare to be over a size 12 get much more flack in the press and from society than drunk male celebs do. Even drunk male celebs that crash into other cars.

I can get my head round addiction, or anxiety, or depression, I struggle with driving when you can very easily pay for a cab.
I don't think money can cure anything as such, but it really can cure drink driving, and that's what shocks me.
Saying that maybe he's much further into it than we all know and its been covered up.

People who have addictions and are not fully recovered are usually thought to be people with a mental health issue, or mental illness to put it another way.

If as I think most of us believe that mental health should be treated as much as physical health, then someone with certain mental health issues should not be allowed to drive as they are ill.

Regardless of their income or wealth.

This is exactly what I think has happened, it wouldn't surprise me if his been battling these issues for years. I really hope he takes a break from TV and the media for a few years so he can focus on getting himself in a better place.

I feel a bit for Ant, as he is 100% in the public eye, and has already had issues with his dead marriage, his wife trying to take him for everything

Ant's PR team managed to make that all his wife's fault, managed in your case definitely, shame she couldn't hang on in there for a few more months so they could blame the new set of problems on her too...

Watching that footage, I think it's possible that he stumbled in getting out of the car as he was trying to open the door that was buckled due to the impact. It needed a shove.

He acted very stupid and I certainly don't feel sorry for him. He makes dumb choices but I can guarantee he won't lose out here. The media and fans will still love him. Watch this space ... he won't be gone (to rehab) for long.

You know if you have had any help to detox from a substance be it drugs or alcohol, you are supposed to declare this to the dvla and the decision will always be a revoked licence until a year of sobriety has been achieved...

There's a lot of people that are on the roads that shouldn't be.
