Apart from house

I would say my laptop cost £800 so probably that.

£50k on IVF. Sadly no baby.

Ofalltheginjoints · 18/03/2018 16:39

If excluding house and something solely mine not a joint purchase probably an item of jewellery that I bought following major surgery, was in the region of 5k, I love it as much now as I did then (owned it for almost 10 years), as shallow as it sounds if simply brings me joy, if on a terrible day of pain due to my disability, I look at it or put it on it does make me feel better so to be it was worth every penny

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 18/03/2018 16:49

Our backpacking honeymoon - £40,000 ish. The wedding barely cost anything though and we were away for 10 months.

Then the kitchen followed by a car.

bimbobaggins · 18/03/2018 16:55

Business class return flights to Australia.

ShakeShakeTheMuffin · 18/03/2018 16:57

Flowers for Bananafish

Justabadwife · 18/03/2018 17:06

Apart from cars (which only cost about 1k) i can't think of anything overly expensive we have bought.
DH bought a laptop for £429 so probably that.

It would have been my living room furniture, it's gorgeous and would have been about 3k. I got it for £150 as it was damaged (there's nothing visibly wrong with it)

Turnocks34 · 18/03/2018 17:10

Car probably which was £20k.

Then probably my computer which was £1500.

After that nothing really exceeds £100 because I’m pretty tight with money normally in terms of clothes etc.

Omgineedanamechange · 18/03/2018 17:20

Discounting house/car/holidays/wedding, then the most expensive thing I own is my engagement ring, but DH paid for that, so I suppose my iPhone.

LakieLady · 18/03/2018 17:37

£4.2k on our motorhome. That was a bargain though, it should have been £6k or so.

We need a new kitchen, will hopefully get it done this year. I doubt if that will come in at less than the motorhome!

LynetteScavo · 18/03/2018 17:56

@bananafish81 that's harsh. Sad I'm so sorry.

I'm intrigued by 40k backpacking...where did you go? Everywhere?

Sparklesocks · 18/03/2018 17:57

Car,

Followed by laptop and games console.

But actually nothing in our house is worth that much, as we realised when we were doing our contents insurance! Smile

Ohyesiam · 18/03/2018 18:02

My degree

LynetteScavo · 18/03/2018 18:02

My most expensive impulse buy was probably a Timberland leather jacket. I went off it soon after and gave it to a charity shop.Confused

tameka · 18/03/2018 18:04

My new sofa

MrsMaxwell · 18/03/2018 18:05

My kitchen was £10,000.

Before we had it done it was hanging massive hole where all the drawers had fallen apart and I love cooking.

Three years on it still feels like new Grin

afreshnewname · 18/03/2018 18:06

Definitely my car, brand new golf with every added extra😍

glueandstick · 18/03/2018 18:08

House, car, musical instruments, pram, laptop, handbag, phone.

Depressing isn’t it.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 18/03/2018 18:08

My car, after that it would be holidays, I live for holidays.

PNGirl · 18/03/2018 18:09

Personal expenditure - Mulberry Bayswater and Burberry coat, both about £5-600.

We've spent a lump of £1k-£2k a few times on the sofa, honeymoon, California holidays, furniture spree for new house x 2.

Car was worth £7k but MiL gave it to us!

chickenowner · 18/03/2018 18:10

After house, £75,000 on a beautiful piece of woodland.

We go camping, walking, have picnics, harvest wood for our wood burner and generally love it!

StorminaBcup · 18/03/2018 18:10

My degree and post grad, £10k and counting 💸💸

soulrider · 18/03/2018 18:12

Car by some considerable margin, followed by mountain bike.

gabsdot · 18/03/2018 18:12

My kids. Adoption fees and travel expenses probably added up to €70,000 for the 2 kids.

19lottie82 · 18/03/2018 18:14

Apart from my house and car, a watch that cost £6700.

A bit of an indulgence but when my DM passed away and I sold her house I treated myself before I invested the rest for my old age.

BonnieF · 18/03/2018 18:15

My car, a BMW M135i. It cost £19k, and it’s worth every penny except when it snows, at which point it becomes entirely useless and is incapable of getting itself off the drive.
