Apart from house

I would say my laptop cost £800 so probably that.

The house, I no longer think about the price we paid for it as it has brought us so much happiness.

SleepFreeZone · 18/03/2018 12:18

Former Grin

juddyrockingcloggs · 18/03/2018 12:18

Circa 60k on IVF!

The most we've spent on a single physical purchase though is our touring caravan which was 18k.

SleepFreeZone · 18/03/2018 12:19

LunaTheCat · 18/03/2018 12:19

My car
Then my flute - about 1200 pounds.

Tobebythesea · 18/03/2018 12:20

UpstartCrow · 18/03/2018 12:22

My computer, I built it in bits when I see them on sale. But altogether over £1,000.

Ds and his education, especially the 4 years at uni. Dh's glider and trailer. My cast iron, roll top, claw footed, F&B spray painted bath. Roll on next year when I will back in UK for good and can use it nightly, with a book and a glass of something chilled.

BillyAndTheSillies · 18/03/2018 12:28

Chanel bag nearly 5k.

For DH it'd be his car.

gillybeanz · 18/03/2018 12:30

Mortgage paid off a lump sum to complete
Assorted musical instruments
Car (dh, not me)

Gide · 18/03/2018 12:33

Car
Horse
Dogs
Road trips around America, infrequent but always very expensive.

Permane · 18/03/2018 12:35

Ignoring house/extensions/overall cost of new kitchens and bathrooms and car/motorhome and ongoing costs of children and dogs...

In last year most expensive individual purchases have been a Miele steam combination oven and a Fama sofa.

Most expensive decision was to stay part-time despite all DC being over 12 now, that really costs the most financially.

TheJoyOfSox · 18/03/2018 12:36

Besides house and car my most expensive purchase would be my Louboutan shoes. £425 a few years ago for a pair of glossy Iriza, and I love them. They hurt like buggery but I feel so very glamorous wearing them. They also look great with skinny jeans.

TheJoyOfSox · 18/03/2018 12:38

I should add, that the shoes are my most expensive purchase. Boring things like sofa at £2k I’ve not considered to be my own.

CatLadyToddlerMother · 18/03/2018 12:40

Don't own my own house or my own car

Probably my phone which cost £600 new

Then my bed £500 with mattress (well worth it, it's still very comfy 7 years later)

jollyjester · 18/03/2018 12:42

Car. Think it was about 6k.

Travelling as we've done oz and nz a few times. Each time probably costs around 5k.

House extension cost 16k last year and new kitchen this year is going to be approx 10k.

I shop in primark for clothes though Grin

After car, my teeth: having Invisalign braces to finally sort out by hideously crooked jaw. It is actually costing me almost as much as my car!

TSSDNCOP · 18/03/2018 13:04

My DS. Thank you Investment Bank bonuses.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 18/03/2018 14:02

Apart from the obvious house, car big ticket furniture items I spent 2.5k on having my 4 front teeth veneered last year.

Best 2.5k I've ever spent, my smile is now soooo much better!

Silvercatowner · 18/03/2018 14:04

Apart from house and car - a real oak parquet floor in our dining room. I love it.

Redglitter · 18/03/2018 14:05

After my car it'd be my bureau. I'd always wanted one and bought a beautiful made to order one for over £1k.
