Steak and a blow job night (this isn't unreasonable, right)?

Dh reminds me with a cheeky wink that it's that delightfully thought up day of the year Hmm.

I explain being heavily pregnant and feeling like a cow there's not a chance! He's now going to buy and cook us steak tonight after not getting the steak side of the day out of his head. So... I'm getting a steak dinner cooked for me and nothing else will be happening Grin. AIBU?

Ok to be fair, I now want steak so I can see how that works.

Paie · 14/03/2018 16:52

YANBU-
my DP made quite a fuss about it last year- I kindly reminded him that the more he banged on about it the less likely it was to happen. He didn't get the message-
So I bought and cooked him steak and went about the rest of the evening with an air of innocence.
Don't try to pressure me into doing something, it's not nice!

He learnt his lesson and I haven't heard a peep this year Wink

slug · 14/03/2018 16:53

If I were you I'd smile sweetly and tell him he can give you the blow job later, when you're feeling more like it.

PrettyLittIeThing · 14/03/2018 16:53

Oh gosh I had forgot about this day.

Auspiciouspanda · 14/03/2018 16:53

My partners a veggie 😬😬

Rainatnight · 14/03/2018 16:56

Is this a particular night every year? How bizarre!

Paie · 14/03/2018 16:57

@Auspiciouspanda
Cauliflower steak thing? Wink

3littlemonkeys82 · 14/03/2018 17:01

I'm veggie... no steak,no sausage Grin but it is dp's birthday so might make a late concession 😂

Origamoo · 14/03/2018 17:02

What now? No chance. Wtf. I’ve never heard of this ‘special’ day! Hmm

PrettyLittIeThing · 14/03/2018 17:08

It's the month after valentines day apprently it's the "mens version" of valentines day.

stegosauruslady · 14/03/2018 17:09

We celebrated last night, because of work constraints. Its better than valentines day!

Luckingfovely · 14/03/2018 17:13

God, I don't know what it is about this day or what it does to my sense of humour, but it makes me Boil with Rage. That is all.

Idbemonica1 · 14/03/2018 17:14

Never heard of this, and as DH forgot my Valentine's card this year i don't think I'll alert him to it Smile

KittenBeast · 14/03/2018 17:16

My OH hasn't a clue what day it is, not to my knowledge anyway. Mind you, he's been at work all day with a load of men, so he probably knows by now. Drat.

winglesspegasus · 14/03/2018 17:18

tubesteak?

Glitzyritzy · 14/03/2018 17:18

Yay, my hubby is a vegetarian! Hahaha

cucaracha · 14/03/2018 17:19

never heard of that until I read it on MN, I doubt DH has either, or would do anything else than ignore it if he reads it somewhere.

just pick your day, or make up your own

I wonder if there'll be as many "I only got steak and bj aibu to be disappointed " posts as there were on mother's day!

Whatshallidonowpeople · 14/03/2018 17:21

Also, why are you all behaving as though your oh would be lucky/have no chance etc?

ShowOfHands · 14/03/2018 17:22

DH unfriends people on FB for posting about it. Thinks it's reductive and crass thankfully.

CocoDeMoll · 14/03/2018 17:23

Grin at the replies. Yeah it's definitely a thing. I'm usually more willing but y'know, third trimester and all that!

I’ve been aware of it for a few years, pre being on MN. It’s lighthearted ‘retaliation’ to Valentine’s Day which is generally geared more towards women with the romance, flowers etc. So a month later men get steak and a blow job to even it out (see: gender stereotypes)

I think we jokingly celebrated it for a couple of years, but neither of us eat steak now...

AnyFucker · 14/03/2018 17:23

Nobody I know in RL talks about this. Thankfully.

Rottweilers · 14/03/2018 17:23

To the veggies/vegans on this thread avant garde steak by gas Oakley is wonderful Grin

TheBlindspot · 14/03/2018 17:23

Oh gosh I forgot about this nonsense.... but I did ring OH earlier and ask him to pick up some steak for dinner! I'm pregnant and really fancy a bit of red meat.

Oh well. He'll be getting the steak then but I doubt he'll get anything else 😂
