More Offended by the words from a musical on a tshirt than the right wing voting record of Next's CEO?

I raise your WTF with WTFF

CadyHeron · 18/03/2018 14:16

Not patronising, just pointing out this a HYPOTHETICAL tshirt as the bloody thing doesn't seem to exist.
Some posters are saying girls are always being told to smile so the tshirts must be aimed at them, when it's nothing of the sort.
It's on men's tshirts if anything by the looks, it's literally making a point out of nothing! Confused

"Not patronising, just pointing out this a HYPOTHETICAL tshirt as the bloody thing doesn't seem to exist."

Why are you pointing that out again? You seem to be very (what's that expression? Oh yes.....) "her up" about it and unable to let the conversation move on. Would you like me to say that I know the T shirt doesn't exist in CAPITAL LETTERS? Would that help?

BertrandRussell · 18/03/2018 14:43

"Het up" not "her up" obviously.

CompleteAisling · 18/03/2018 14:50

For the last time.

It doesn't tell little girls that they should smile all the time.
It's not a slogan, its a song lyric.

and IT DOESN'T EXIST.

You know when they say someone could have a fight in an empty room? You people can argue for a week over a non existent tshirt!

NeverTwerkNaked · 18/03/2018 14:59

Is this STILL chuntering along? So many things we could care about yet people are still wringing their hands over a t -shirt sold to boys but that might, hypothetically, also be sold to girls? That references a song about stylish men that was a pretend advert in a musical written over 40 years ago...?

Grin

We're all supposed to talk about how hard done by women are and the non existent tshirt is a slight on us all being told to "cheer up love."

CompleteAisling · 18/03/2018 15:05

We've had that discussion anyway, multiple times! And yet they are so desperate to have it again, they hang it on a completely different and nonexistent slogan that isn't.....jeez, get a hobby!

Thinkingofausername1 · 18/03/2018 15:25

Maybe op is depressed and thinks you can get dressed but you don't need to smile

DioneTheDiabolist · 19/03/2018 00:05

I only joined for the batshit craziness.GrinGrinGrin

NeverTwerkNaked · 22/03/2018 06:40

Ooooh look!!! Another t-shirt for boys telling them to smile - in the current H&M boys section on the website

Girls t shirt from next that says, you are not properly dressed without a smile
NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/03/2018 06:51

Haven't read the tread but my immediate thought other than thats a quote from annie, followed by do kids still watch annie.

was i think the op is offended because shes interprated it as a "sexy smile"
She has a image of it meaning the coy come on smile maybe, and shes also taken it to mean you dont have to wear anything else but a smile

NeverTwerkNaked · 22/03/2018 07:01

Naught no one has found any evidence that the t-shift the op was about even exists... we have found quite a few examples of t-shirts like that for boys/ men though ...

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/03/2018 11:59

Yes i know i was trying to explain the offence rather than wether it was sexy/sexist in appriote

I was explaing the wtf rather than addressing wether the teeshirt exists
