Family get-together this weekend
My parents have found out that my faux-brother-law (they’re not married) is heavily in debt - 40k

They have a beautiful little son. He’s nearly 2.

Their own relationship is shite. No joint account he has Good job always skint

This thread needs subtitles

frumpety · 13/03/2018 21:56

People are leaving Uni with this level of debt right now , should they forgo relationships until they have fully paid off their student debts ?
I guess it depends though where the debt is from , gambling ?

ReasonableLlama · 13/03/2018 21:56

Worra or a diagram but preferably both

suzy2b · 13/03/2018 21:57

he isn't your bil but she is your sil even if they were married she would not be your sil she is nothing to you

BookAngel · 13/03/2018 21:57

Who is Sharon?

ItsBeenAHellofaDay · 13/03/2018 21:57

BookAngel - GrinWine!!

OP, how do you know your sister doesn't know??

TheFishInThePot · 13/03/2018 21:58

If SIL is faux BIL sister, would she not be faux SIL? or is she also married to your brother?

ItsBeenAHellofaDay · 13/03/2018 22:00

I'm with BookAngel - this thread is hilarious and I haven't got a clue anymore what's what as it's making less and less sense!! Popcorn 🍿 and wine 🍷 for me too!!!!!

PerfectlyDone · 13/03/2018 22:00

Confusing posts and legal status of protagonists aside, where is the conflict here? Genuine question Confused

You (or your parents) have been told potentially financially risky information that is of interest to your sister. Tell her. Or tell him to tell her, otherwise you will.

Finderscrispy · 13/03/2018 22:01

Sil Is also a former colleague / flat mate of her brother - the faux bil ?

QueenNefertitty · 13/03/2018 22:01

Phwoah OP have you been on the sauce?!?

This is very good for brain training though!

IllHaveALargeGlassOfRed · 13/03/2018 22:02

I know a Sharon. Is it her? Hmm

MollyWantsACracker · 13/03/2018 22:02

Oh dear god never have I felt so misunderstood 😂

And yes I am pissed

And yes he has concealed the debt

And we now know, but by telling her, (my sister) we will break a family trust (where the teller is married-in family)

OP posts:
PerfectlyDone · 13/03/2018 22:04

Well, surely your loyalty must lie with your sister??

Stop overthinking it, the truth will out Wine

iklboo · 13/03/2018 22:04

Riddle: If Theresa's daughter is my daughter's mother, what am to Theresa?

Answer: Faux BIL's sister in law's flatmate?

DalekDalekDalek · 13/03/2018 22:04

Come back tomorrow when you have sobered up. You must be absolutely fucked to make so little sense.

starryeyed19 · 13/03/2018 22:04

You need to tell your sister. It's not fair that she doesn't know and your loyalty should be to her, not to anyone else or their secrets. Please tell her.

VladmirsPoutine · 13/03/2018 22:04

Have you considered consulting Eastenders with this plot?

It all sounds horrid and none of it makes sense, it sounds like it'd be just their kind of thing.

Riverside2 · 13/03/2018 22:05

I think where money is concerned, it's most important to tell your sister
Sorry you've had so much crap on here Flowers

Omgineedanamechange · 13/03/2018 22:05

How does one act like a BIL? My BIL acts exactly the same now as he did before I was married, are we doing it wrong?

DalekDalekDalek · 13/03/2018 22:05

Nah Vlad this is too unrealistic for Eastenders!

BookAngel · 13/03/2018 22:05

OP give your poor little brain a break from your incoherent bollocks and go to sleep before you implode. Entertaining as this is I fear you will hurt yourself if you have to try to type literately.

MadMags · 13/03/2018 22:06

Sober up. Try again.

ComedyBoobs · 13/03/2018 22:06

Are you sure your sister doesn't know? Are you certain the debt exists?

Sarsparella · 13/03/2018 22:07

If you try and tell her like this she’ll still never know what’s going on?! Grin

How do you 100% know she doesn’t know? Unless you’ve ever had a conversation where she’s said ‘faux bil has no debt whatsoever you know’

If he’s making the repayments & they’re not having their house repossessed its none of your business & tbh your ‘source’ sounds totally muddled anyway!
