To think being blonde doesn’t automatically mean you’re attractive?

I see it on here a lot. Because someone is blonde they are automatically gorgeous.

I’m not saying any other colour is better. I’m saying that certain hair colours suit different people.

I look better as a brunette, I wasn’t as attractive when I was blonde. I’m sure others have experienced this the other way around too.

I’m just getting quite tired of the whole everything needs to be light in order for anyone to be considered pretty.

Fair enough. I don’t either.

Bugjune · 10/03/2018 23:04

I don't either really and I am one Grin

TatianaLarina · 10/03/2018 23:21

Hair does not darken as we get older it goes grey! For people with dark hair it gets lighter.

blastomama · 10/03/2018 23:22

Blonde hair in children definitely gets darker as they get older.

TatianaLarina · 10/03/2018 23:26

While they’re still children though.

BeastInView · 10/03/2018 23:26

Very few children with white blonde hair maintain that colour past early childhood.

blastomama · 10/03/2018 23:28

No, not just while they were children. Blonde hair can keep darkening as an adult. You can be much blonder at 20 than you are at 40.

TatianaLarina · 10/03/2018 23:30

Well I’ve been blonde since childhood and I’ve not noticed adults’ hair darkening. It depends how much you’ve been in the sun.

blastomama · 10/03/2018 23:31

not everyone is you. It's a thing that happens whether you have noticed it or not.

TatianaLarina · 10/03/2018 23:33

not everyone is you

No shit.

DarthNigel · 11/03/2018 06:57

I see this a fair bit in real life but not so much on here..
Two DD's-one with brown hair, one with very blonde.Equally pretty girls but the blonde one was always singled out for the 'what a beautiful girl you have' comments. (Until my brunette went a bit edgy and - against my better judgement at the time-had her hair cut in a fairly extreme style but which looks very awesome on her-now she gets stopped in shops by strangers telling her how ace her hair looks so the tables have turned a bit).its great fun with the sibling rivalry in our house Sad.
I do think it's true though that long swishy hair+nice figure and women are viewed as being attractive-facial features then dont matter as much. My friend refers to it as 'the Jennifer Anniston effect'

kaytee87 · 11/03/2018 07:41

.... i thought it was obvious I was talking about fair hair darkening

To think being blonde doesn’t automatically mean you’re attractive?
logicalmum · 11/03/2018 11:40

I personally do not find white people attractive in general.
If this was said about black people it would be considered racist, but really you're just being honest.

MsHarry · 11/03/2018 12:09

You're right logical , this thread would be lifted if that was said about a whole race other than white.

carryondoctor · 11/03/2018 12:11

I suppose it depends if you're the kind of person who only finds looks attractive or if you also go for personality, brains etc. I've had boyfriends of various races, shapes and sizes because the main thing that I'm attracted to is intelligence and humour (oh and until DP, there was usually a twit gene involved too!).

PencilledIn · 11/03/2018 12:15

I don't find white people attractive in general.

I find this surprising but not racist. As a white person I know that I would be less quick to notice more ordinary looking black men but a particularly good looking one would definitely catch my eye, so I'd be surprised that it's not the same in reverse. Of course attraction is different when you're chatting to people. I refer to walking past strangers.

PencilledIn · 11/03/2018 12:17

lol at the Jennifer Aniston effect. I do know what you mean but come on, she has a lovely heart shaped face, regular features, nice teeth etc, she wouldn't look bad with a shaved head.

MsHarry · 11/03/2018 12:19

I was a blonde child. Dark hair when born that went blonde before 6months. Started to go darker around 12 and it settled on a light brown. I highlight now that the greys are coming in but have dyed it warm brown or blonde over the years. It helps being in the middle/mousey range because it means my skin tone can take either light or dark as long as not too extreme. I don't think either colour makes me more or less attractive , it's more what suits your skin tone and style.

DullAndOld · 11/03/2018 12:19

well I have always been blonde and am as attractive as a buffalo.

DaisyInTheChain · 11/03/2018 12:24

I don't get the correlation, I think it all depends on personal taste.

JacquesHammer · 11/03/2018 12:25

I have good hair. It is blonde but I think its the condition and length that makes it interesting. It is definitely my most attractive feature Grin

That said I find long blonde hair + larger boobs gets negative attention. One lovely soul once told me I would be taken more seriously as a business women if I didn't look like a bimbo

haverhill · 11/03/2018 12:26

An old school acquaintance once told me she dyed her long hair blonde because it made her more attractive to men despite what she considered to be her plain face. I’ve no idea if it’s true. I’ve nearly always been blonde so I can’t say if I would be considered more or less attractive with another colour. I look washed out with darker hair though. There are loads of average looking blondes just like any other colour. I think what’s important is that your hair suits you and enhances your features.

logicalmum · 11/03/2018 12:29

pencilledin no i don't find it racist either but i'm certain it would be if it was said about any other race other than white?

LucreziaBoredYa · 11/03/2018 12:36

I can't even consider this. I've seen many many unattractive blondes as I have brunette and red-haired. Maybe the difference is some unnatural blondes think madly that dying their hair = more attractive. It really doesn't.

LucreziaBoredYa · 11/03/2018 12:38

Dyeing even.
