We are seriously considering using artificial grass to carpet our living room. Are there any possible issues with this that we have not considered?

I actually really like it.

helpfulperson · 10/03/2018 15:23

Do it. If you do and hate it then, guess what, you can take it out and put something else down!

Yes, lovely, you could also paint a giant sun on your walls joke

Dd2 has fake grass in her bedroom. I bought a midrange one intended for outdoors.

It looks great and Hoover's fine. I'm not that keen on the feel of it on my feet, but she doesn't seem to mind.

My brother had his balcony covered in artificial grass but ripped it up as he got fed up with the birds shitting all over it.

Possibly this wouldn't be a problem in a sitting room.

OP - have you ever seen this Ikea rug in the flesh?

I always think it looks like artificial grass, but it's much softer than plastic grass. If you want that sort of look, how about one or two of these down instead, on normal flooring?

Go for it! Why not have a sense of fun?
