I really don’t think dinosaurs were properly real and I’m not sure that the earth is proper round

It makes my brain hurt so I’m just not going to try.

How do we know that it’s not just theoretical and something new and different is just round the corner?

If you read OP’s posts out in your head in a strong Welsh accent they are even better ( think Ruth Maddoc)

Until a very clever boffing comes up with a Unified Field Theory, everything's up for grabs... even gravity.

Fugitivefrombrusstice · 09/03/2018 21:52

@SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed no they aren't always right. And as we learn more we might discover things that disprove earlier ideas. But the fact that the earth is a sphere has been proven beyond any doubt. I don't want to be rude, but nobody capable of thinking critically could possibly believe otherwise.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 21:52

Strax according to Terry Pratchett, he was messing about with the Pleistocene.

FintyTin · 09/03/2018 21:52

I don't believe in Jools Holland.

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:53

Damn. There’s no room for original thought in a world with advance search options. This makes me sad.

DalekDalekDalek · 09/03/2018 21:53

How do you explain the photos taken of the Earth from space then?

pestilentialboundary · 09/03/2018 21:53

I do have 2 real degrees mind. I think you will find, you need three.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/03/2018 21:53

I’m OK with the earth being (sort of) round but whenever I think about gravity I just want to lie on the floor and cling to the carpet Shock

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:54

Photos are flat.

Most dinosaurs died 65 million years ago when that meteor hit Mexico. Only the bird dinosaurs survived. If birds are that much older than us and we believe in Evolution then why aren't birds smarter than us - they had such a headstart.

AnachronisticCorpse · 09/03/2018 21:55

The earth photos could easily be faked. I mean, does anyone actually KNOW anyone who’s been to space or works at NASA? No? Thought not.

wakemeupbefore · 09/03/2018 21:56

They are, well smarter than most humans. Rarely have wars and suchlike.

DalekDalekDalek · 09/03/2018 21:56

Photos are flat.

You need to send the "certificates" for your "2 real degrees" back.

kinorsam · 09/03/2018 21:56

Hang on... if the Earth is flat, what's on the other side???

Lolimax · 09/03/2018 21:57

I’m Welsh. I was married to a dinosaur. I used to live in Singapore so if the world wasn’t round wouldn’t I have fallen off?
But...2nd degree will start in April so I might change my mind.
Cockin’ great.

wakemeupbefore · 09/03/2018 21:58

I am so glad nobody, well apart from some odd solicitor's office, uses faxes. Now those did my head in...

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/03/2018 21:58

If the Earth was flat, cats and babies would have knocked everything over the edge by now.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 21:58

Hopping I'm hearing Rhod Gilbert in my head.

HermionesRightHook · 09/03/2018 21:58

How do we know that it’s not just theoretical and something new and different is just round the corner?

Because people have literally been to space and seen that the earth is a sphere (ish - it's a bit squished in the middle). And proving the the earth is round is one of the oldest parts of science - you can infer it reliably from all sorts of things. Like, ancient peoples worked it out at least 2,000 years ago. Eratosthenes and Aristotle worked it out - www.bbc.co.uk/earth/story/20160126-how-we-know-earth-is-round.

Twocatsonebaby · 09/03/2018 21:59

...

Pollypudding · 09/03/2018 21:59

Obviously the dinosaur bones were left by aliens who then came back and made some crop circles.Hmm

speakout · 09/03/2018 21:59

Hang on... if the Earth is flat, what's on the other side???

All the other stuff, the dark web, lost things like teaspoons and socks. and everything that goes down the plughole_ bathwater and jobbies.

Fairly obvious.

wakemeupbefore · 09/03/2018 22:00

They did it as a publicity stunt, Aristotele and his gang. It worked.
