It makes my brain hurt so I’m just not going to try.

It's an oblate spheroid - it bulges at the equator.

If the earth was flat the cats would have shoved everything off it by now.

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/03/2018 22:34

Mexico was invented by the Texans in an effort to trick people into parting with good money in exchange for refried beans.

brownelephant · 09/03/2018 22:36

if you ever needed a good scientifically sound explanation, this is it. ^^

speakout · 09/03/2018 22:36

I like refried beans.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 22:37

opinionated but that wouldn't be any fun! Pissed posts are the most fun!

MrSlant · 09/03/2018 22:37

I was going to come on here and be all Welsh and scientific at the same tim but LittleCandle has it.

Tidy.

MrSlant · 09/03/2018 22:38

The same tim being the Welsh measure of time obviously. But.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 09/03/2018 22:40

mumsnet should not allow inebriated people to post steady on there-you're messing with sacred ground.
Yeah, Mexico-bit like Narnia.

Cfarmer · 09/03/2018 22:41

No human can ever prove the existence of these one way or the other. Quite understandable if anyone struggles to really believe in such crazy concepts.
It's all about our sensory perception of the world, which according to scientists is essentially a series of illusions created in our mind that can never actually represent the true nature of reality.
Our eyes play all kinds of tricks on perspective, and we don't understand much about time and space... and if all of our knowledge is based on common logic, then what if this line of logic is incorrect?
So... who knows?

PirateMemoryGame · 09/03/2018 22:41

I'm Brian and so is my wife!

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/03/2018 22:41

I like refried beans.

That's the craziest thing I've read on this thread so far.

OlennasWimple · 09/03/2018 22:43

Tsk - everyone who is bonkers knows that dinosaurs pulled carts for early humans. That's why we have dinosaur bones and also know that the world is as God created it Wink

OlennasWimple · 09/03/2018 22:44

Personally, I think that narwhals aren't real

Have you seen them? They look like those taxidermy freak animals that the Victorians loved, where someone would stitch a duck's head on a lamb's body

speakout · 09/03/2018 22:44

I will often say to Brian. "Brian, don't forget to get refried beans!"

And he remembers, because he knows I like them.

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/03/2018 22:46

*Personally, I think that narwhals aren't real

So do half the population of Doncaster, but I'm pretty sure they exist.

speakout · 09/03/2018 22:47

Victorians loved, where someone would stitch a duck's head on a lamb's body

It's amazing that the animals survived that. How clever.

Branleuse · 09/03/2018 22:48

@OlennasWimple

Theyre taking the piss arent they. Apparently they only live in areas with hardly any people, like the arctic waters of canada and greenland etc.
Convenient that!

NotACleverName · 09/03/2018 22:48

I don't believe in Finland.

ghostyslovesheets · 09/03/2018 22:49

20 min education

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/03/2018 22:49

I do believe in Finland. Otherwise, where do things with fins come from?

PoorYorick · 09/03/2018 22:50

10/10 would read again.

NotACleverName · 09/03/2018 22:51

There are no living creatures with fins. FFS it's the chemtrails that are just making you think that!

Cfarmer · 09/03/2018 22:51

Monty Python sang a song about Finland therefore it must be real? 100 scientists have joined me and we have written reports, so now it must be true!

RhubarbYoghurt · 09/03/2018 22:52

The world can't possibly be flat..cats would have pushed everything off it by now...

SmilingButClueless · 09/03/2018 22:52

Don’t know about Finland but there’s a town in Germany that the internet claimed didn’t exist.
