I really don’t think dinosaurs were properly real and I’m not sure that the earth is proper round

It makes my brain hurt so I’m just not going to try.

Oh, love it, love it, OP Grin, too tired to get involved but just go on please, we do need some fun around here...

Welsh... and patchy.... [off sniggering merrily, best thing I've read here for ages...]
Grin

Or what anachronistic corpse just said.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 09/03/2018 21:42

Who's Brian?

IpanemaChica · 09/03/2018 21:42

That dinosaur vs Christian thread was hilarious, one of my favourites. Was it EatShitDerek who posted all the funny memes? I’ve never been able to find it again.

RosaDeZoett · 09/03/2018 21:42

Who's poor Brian?

AnachronisticCorpse · 09/03/2018 21:43

Strax, you know they’re not real bones, right? They’re castings. They could make up any old bobbins, really.

elephantoverthehill · 09/03/2018 21:43

I've got a poor Brian too. It's a such a shame but we love him oodles.

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:43

I’ve seens things that someone claims to be dinosaur bones. They looked like bobbly rocks assembled in a certain way.

A bit like that Victorian chap did with the Knossos (most disappointing place ever). Oh look a bathroom. And a bedroom. Bollox they are

Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean it isn’t a fact.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 09/03/2018 21:43

I want a pizza joint.

kalapattar · 09/03/2018 21:44

I'd like to live in a world with Jean Luc Picard being seen as the person to be worshipped.

You could look at each episode and create laws from it. Moral ways to live and treat each other.

Pretty sure the Ferengi would be in there as a lesson.

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:44

Anyway. I digress. Dinosaurs, satsumas, bathrooms in Ancient Greek ruins. All someone else’s imagination.

OP posts:
Branleuse · 09/03/2018 21:44

I dont entirely believe in narwhals

wakemeupbefore · 09/03/2018 21:45

It's only a fact if Brian says it is. He's not always just a naughty boy.....

Fugitivefrombrusstice · 09/03/2018 21:46

It really takes something for a person to trust their vague and uneducated feeling that something is too hard to understand more than the consensus view of thousands of scientists.

That said this thread is obviously a wind up by OP, so I won't let it worry me Wink

caroldecker · 09/03/2018 21:46

The world is actually an oblate spheroid.
If there was no space in atoms between electrons and the nucleus, the earth would be the size of a satsuma.

wakemeupbefore · 09/03/2018 21:47

Oh, bugger.... bees confuse me... who decided what their dances really mean. Whether they actually dance, even, or just wiggle their bottoms because they're itchy?

HermionesRightHook · 09/03/2018 21:47

I mean. They’d possibly be able to argue their case more coherently. So I’m not. But maybe I should be.

This is not a case you can argue coherently. Because it's bollocks. Even other bollocks like astronomy doesn't work if the earth is flat. Excellent run down here: www.popsci.com/10-ways-you-can-prove-earth-is-round

Hint: gravity wouldn't work the way it does if the earth was flat, we'd all be pulled into the middle all the time.

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:48

But scientists aren’t always right are they?

OP posts:
TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 09/03/2018 21:49

I'm not prepared to argue with better-informed posters about the shape of the earth but I'm with you regarding the dinosaurs OP. They're totally implausible.

AnachronisticCorpse · 09/03/2018 21:50

I think the safest position is to assume that I know fuck all (obviously) and the scientists etc are working with the best knowledge and tools they have currently to explain stuff.

And that it’s likely someone will come along with better tools and knowledge to explain it differently.

So in the meantime we should all just nod and smile and bask in the wonder of the unknown. Or something.

Topseyt · 09/03/2018 21:50

Are we talking about a dinosaur named Brian?

SomethingNarstyInTheWoodshed · 09/03/2018 21:50

Hmmm. Gravity. I’m not sure.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2301982-Im-getting-sick-and-tired-of-dinosaurs-being-forced-on-our-children

This has been done before and the OP was much more convincing that time. Actually had arguments for their theory rather than "it makes my brain hurt"!

elephantoverthehill · 09/03/2018 21:51

True words Something I'm not a scientist and I am always right.
