This is all the snow where I live and everyone’s got their knickers in a twist! Talks of possible school closures and one of the departments in my husbands work have been told to take Friday off because of the “adverse weather” 😂😂😂

Stay strong @mikeyssister!! Hope you've enough chocolate!!

Went for a walk around - several abandoned cars. Had to help out several cars stuck (same man twice - apparently my 'these roads will be impassable to your car' needed testing. He ended up having to abandon too.) It was only a 10 minute walk!!

Main roads not great - only place open was the fuel station.

I'm quite keen for it to stop snowing now.

YourVagesty · 02/03/2018 17:55

I haven't been able to have a bath or shower since Wednesday night as my pipes are frozen up

I WILL NOT CALM DOWN

@Tawdrylocalbroughaha

Unfortunately, dad got there first with the text advising he'd managed to dig out his car with his brand-spanking new snow shovel, which he thought was hilarious. I did listen and buy a sledge back in 2010 after we last had heavy snowfall. We'd been everywhere but they'd all sold out, so once it stopped snowing and Home Bargains had them in, I snapped one up on the old dad advice. He was right last time and was right this time, bless him. It hadn't been used until Wednesday afternoon though after I dug it out of the back of the shed, complete with cobwebs.

Watching the news and thinking oh jeez!!!

mikeyssister · 02/03/2018 18:22

@StripySocksAndDocs I did have plenty of chocolate but for some strange reason my kids thought they were entitled to some too so stocks are now lowAngry but DH keeps saying that low is relativeAngry so I'm seriously thinking I'm NBU to leave the fecker.

We've still very little snow but apparently the towns either side of us have 4 foot drifts on/around the road in and out so we're more or less maroooned, or at least travel is unadvised. I don't fancy testing the roads a la yer man in your town.

aspoonfulofyourownmedicine · 02/03/2018 19:15

@mikeyssister You could just leave him outside. I'm sure his tune would change Grin . Maybe give him a shovel to build himself an igloo :D

mikeyssister · 02/03/2018 19:59

@aspoonfulofyourownmedicine this was when he was trying to convince me to give him some too. I'm definitely NBU to LTB.

I had to scrounge milk and wine off lovely neighbours! One good thing is that in my small town in a valley of steep hills the community has been Fantastic Grin people with 4x4s taking people to docs and hospital, towing cars up hills, handing out tea and coffee to people stuck in cars. Actually hugely heartwarming and encouraging - there are Loads of lovely people out there Grin

liz70 · 02/03/2018 22:48

Shock Hmm

You may tske my milk.
You may take my bread.
But you will never, never take my wine!

Huge five star prizes to all the people whether paid for it or not who have been out and about and looking after people or animals or infrastructure or anything else important today.

AlpacaLypse · 02/03/2018 23:02

This from town that Sky decided would be appropriate to broadcast from. They must have come in from the east as north, south, and west are impassible except by tractor or 4WD.

@mikeyssister hope you got your skinny milk today and didn't run out of chocolate. I'm guessing not because they are no news reports of husbands being skinned alive.

mikeyssister · 05/03/2018 14:41

Thanks Sooty, I eventually got the skinny milk and the chocolate lasted. DH did sneak a bar, and didn't eat his own but I forgave him.
