Just would like to say hi to y’all as a happy sex worker, it seems that people here think I’m a bit like a unicorn... I’m a stripper and was a cam girl until I decided I preferred a strip club environment as it was more social than sitting in front of a laptop by myself (or should I say my evil gang criminal pimp made me switch?).
I started when I was at uni, granted it was Exeter, not Oxford. I knew multiple girls engaging in varying forms of sex work, none of them forced or even encouraged, all doing it as a choice. I’m also pretty sure in London and other big city unis the instances are higher simply because of the availability of strip clubs as an additional option.
Now having moved to Texas and started stripping I’ve seen an even broader crossection of us “terrible strippers”. Honestly suggesting the little Chinese man that manages the daytimes is some criminal gang boss is hilarious. There’s tons of girls from local unis, nurses, a bleach blonde using the name Trixie is doing a chemistry PhD. Though of course that’s not everyone, there’s the Mum with 4 kids who looks hot as fuck at 38, there’s a 20 year old that had a baby young but can provide for it sufficiently while only working limited daytime hours when family can provide childcare. It’s a job like any other, you don’t have to have gone to oxford or have some other justification to make you feel all special and different to “the dirty strippers” I’m one of them.
All in all, it’s not something to be disgusted, horrified or saddened by. Honestly, I don’t understand how most of y’all drag yourself to work from 9-5 every day and pick up your few quid an hour. Or how you get by without having the flexibility to decide your own schedule or switch workplaces at the drop of a pen.... Anyway, I may not understand your work situation, I just don’t call you a disgusting anti-feminist because of it.
