anxious2017 Eve's pudding is a layer of stewed apples topped with a light sponge.

I reckon there must be regional differences to what M&S stock because some of this stuff I haven't seen. Or maybe it's because DH whisks me through our food hall with the fear & I just don't have enough time to look thoroughly.

@lilahoftheGreenwood these buggers, have definitely coordinated a raid on Beckenham😃 shelves were practically stripped.

Gizmo2206 · 27/02/2018 17:28

Im so proud of this thread. Loads of my friends argue all supermarkets are the same. Definately not true.

Lying in bed with lurgy - teeth now "watering" (along with eyes & nose) Sad

At christmas in the party food section they had chunks of mac and cheese wrapped in bacon. They were insanely good. And massive long pieces of pork crackling. I spent more money than I want to think about on party food this year.

missyB1 · 27/02/2018 18:33

I made my own Eve’s pudding yesterday, it was bloody lovely! I defy M&S to beat mine! Grin

LadesC · 27/02/2018 18:36

Lemon mousse bars wrapped in dark choc. Nom

Titsywoo · 27/02/2018 18:39

Gastropub need mac and cheese
Gastropub cottage pie
Cauliflower cheese
Yorkshire puddings
Smoked salmon parcels
They do beef short ribs at a great price with loads of meat on. Made the most amazing stew with 2 of them yesterday.
Melt in the middle chocolate puddings
Chinese chicken wings

Percy pigs.

ALemonyPea · 27/02/2018 19:16

The square pizzas are lovely. They did a £10 meal deal a while ago where you got 2 of those and 2 sides, which included dirty fries. Bought them every weekend until they stopped.

I had a fancy flatbread pizza from there’s last week, it had minted pea purée, chicken and asparagus on.

M&s blt is the food of gods

mehhh · 27/02/2018 19:20

TerfsUp · 27/02/2018 19:30

I'm on a diet but am living vicariously through all of you. Grin

MadamMinacious · 27/02/2018 19:32

When they did them the orange eclairs - best.thing.ever.

Also the posh cheese on toast

And since I was a little girl the raspberry buns with pink icing - love them.

MadamMinacious · 27/02/2018 19:33

Oh oh oh I forgot (my M&S stopped doing this but they do them elsewhere - the bastards)

the chilli crab cocktail and their frizzante wine (pink foil top)

SkaterGrrrrl · 27/02/2018 19:35

We have an M&S simply food on a our high street - my god it's good. I like the sliced fruit loaf which is like their apple hot cross buns, but in a loaf. I also love their caramelised onion chutney.

nandaandm · 27/02/2018 19:36

French boule bread (especially still warm)
Chicken Liver parfait

Wartortle88 · 27/02/2018 19:38

The steak lasagne. It's expensive but it's my absolute favourite treat.

I'm also partial to their roast potatoes and mash, I normally try to make my own of both rather than spend but they're never quite as good...

AdaColeman · 27/02/2018 19:45

bastardly The M&S stores are all graded, and what is available in the food hall depends on the grade of that particular store, so smaller stores will stock regular/best sellers, while the exotic/luxury/trial items go to the larger higher grade stores.

Amarriedcatlady · 28/02/2018 11:02

How I wish I wasthere right now, with a trolley ( never used a trolley in there before ) filling it to the top with fatty, sweet, carb overload. Of course, there is just two of us, we couldn’t stuff the entire reccomendation list of the fresh stuff in our mouths, within two days and besides I’d be in hospital in a diabetic coma.

Need to stop looking at this thread!

FoofFighter · 28/02/2018 11:27

I went in to buy the spiced iced buns after reading so many posts on here about them, none in stock. Bought the rhubarb and custard buns instead. Not Nice. Sad the bun itself is delicious, the icing on top was very chemically/artificial tasting, the rhubarb stuff was ok but not very rhubarby, and no idea where the custard was supposed to be?

DeputyBrennan · 28/02/2018 15:15

I was similarly disappointed with the rhubarb and custard buns. I will neve again deviate from the raspberry ones - they are always delicious, and a better size for me.

MsGameandWatching · 28/02/2018 15:19

The fresh soups are the best. I used to make a lot of fresh soup and M&S is the only brand that even comes close to being as good as freshly made. The crab bisque, chicken and veg and smoked haddock chowder are the best.

MsGameandWatching · 28/02/2018 15:36

I think M&S must be a good company to work for because many of the workers at my local store have been there for as long as I have been shopping there, which is around 15 years.

Shmithecat · 28/02/2018 15:38

Their pomegranate molasses baked ham. Delicious.
