Any job dealing with the public!

TeeniefaeTroon · 26/02/2018 19:48

A carer

frasier · 26/02/2018 19:48

Anything that involves driving
Service industry (people are dicks)

Hairydilemma · 26/02/2018 19:49

Anything to do with poo or other people’s bodily functions

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 26/02/2018 19:54

Yes to nothing involving bodily functions. Or being a carer or anything involving kids. Or abattoirs.

Ethically, I wouldn't want to work in the arms, tobacco or gambling industries.

cygnet12 · 26/02/2018 19:55

Carer
Working with kids
Working with animals
Working with the public
Confused

BakedBeans47 · 26/02/2018 19:56

Anything involving sick people, poor people, the elderly or children. I just don’t have the temperament and I take my hat off to people who do as obviously I appreciate it’s all crucially important work x

Also - retail or catering work. Dealing with arseholes for shit money and unsocial hours. No thanks.

Anything involving art or science because I am shit at both.

TheQueenOfWands · 26/02/2018 19:58

Office work.

WitchesGlove · 26/02/2018 20:03

Fast food worker
Builder
Mechanic
Maintenance Worker
HGV Driver

acornsandnuts · 26/02/2018 20:04

Anything outside in winter. I get anxiety watching workmen or window cleaners when it’s -2 outside.

sinceyouask · 26/02/2018 20:08

Forces, police, prison officer, bailiff, dwp employee, abattoir worker, 'something in the city', sex worker, elderly carer, telesales, doorstep sales... Loads of things really.

TroysMammy · 26/02/2018 20:11

Optician, I can't abide eyes.
Carer.
Cold caller.

lookingforaline18 · 26/02/2018 20:12

A job dealing with the public, especially retail. Customers and supermarket managers just make the perfect recipe for a really dull job.

PuppyMonkey · 26/02/2018 20:14

Soldier

APontypandyPioneer · 26/02/2018 20:14

A fatberg removal operative.
An HMRC/DWP employee.
An immigration officer.

FaFoutis · 26/02/2018 20:15

Anything where I would have to wear a suit.
Selling anything, unless it's in a shop.

LimonViola · 26/02/2018 20:16

Carer or cleaner.

Or abbatoire worker.

frankchickens · 26/02/2018 20:17

Anything involving work

APontypandyPioneer · 26/02/2018 20:17

Optician, I can't abide eyes

Why don't you like eyes TroysMammy? I find them quite useful, you know, for seeing and stuff.

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 26/02/2018 20:18

Anything to do with 'the outdoors'.

God I hate 'the outdoors'.

Tuck me up in an office any day.

cjferg · 26/02/2018 20:19

Anything with kids or old people. Did school work experience in a nursery and only learned that I didn't want to work with kids. Couldn't handle working with old people, especially with dementia or anything like that.

Couldn't work somewhere I had to sit in one place all day or stare at a screen.

Wouldn't (out of principle) work for DWP if it was the only job on the planet. Or the police.

cjferg · 26/02/2018 20:20

Also probably wouldn't like to work somewhere that didn't involve food. I'm too used to getting free food... would hate to have to bring my own shitty lunch.

AngryCrispLady · 26/02/2018 20:21

Think I have a job that no one wants judging by this thread, but I quite like it (sometimes!)
I wouldn’t want a sales job or a job that lined someone else’s pockets, unless I was passionate about the product. I would also hate to work in stand up as I am not very thick skinned so couldn’t take hecklers and not as creative as I think I am. I would probably stand on stage going “sorry, sorry...” for 20 minutes....
Would LOVE to retrain as a hairdresser or beautician if money were no object

OutyMcOutface · 26/02/2018 20:25

Anything involving mess/dirt like cleaning, slaughtering animals, plumber, working with animals etc. And not working with children-i barely have the patience for my own!

UterusUterusGhali · 26/02/2018 20:26

Bin person (scared of maggots)
Maggot farmer
Working with smelly food. (Chips)

There are lots of manual jobs I'd happily do if I wasn't so arthritic.

I do work with bodily fluids etc and love it though.
