Would this make you want to give the person a wide birth? Or would you not be bothered. Asking for friend.

OP posts:
overskyandshire · 25/02/2018 16:41

Well, some 14 year olds don’t know about contraception but they DO know the difference between your and you’re.

And I know that was a cheap shot but it was a knobhead post.

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 16:41

Also Bertrand.

Northern Ireland.

Not Ireland.

Get it fucking right. It’s a totally different country. We didn’t have a marriage vote.

Ffs. You come on and twatsplain at me about a totally irrelevant situation.

overskyandshire · 25/02/2018 16:41

Still illegal.

overskyandshire · 25/02/2018 16:42

Twatsplain Grin

BertrandRussell · 25/02/2018 16:43

“Bertrand really? After you were so bloody rude up there you come on and be flippant?

You are so far out of order you can’t even see it.”

Sorry? Have you got the wrong person?

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 16:47

Oh I haven’t mixed you upBertrand.

You or the other nasty folks on this thread. You stuck out because you’re usually so much less horrid.

And it IS horrid what you said.

And you twatsplained about a vote that didn’t fucking happen in my country. So what the fuck it has to do with me not able to have an abortion in 1992 I have no fucking clue.

VladmirsPoutine · 25/02/2018 16:48

@Pregnant15 Why did you name-change?

overskyandshire · 25/02/2018 16:49

Clearly because she didn’t want everyone knowing she was pregnant at 15 in her normal name, you dingbat.

acornwood · 25/02/2018 16:51

I have a friend that had a baby at 14 she's done extremely well for herself

VladmirsPoutine · 25/02/2018 16:51

@overskyandshire Thanks for the compliment. I'm asking why that is. If you cannot have a respectful discussion then put down your phone or close your laptop.

Kind regards,

Dingbat

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 16:52

Because I felt like it.

Because me being pregnant at 15and the horrible nasty attitudes that are on this thread are not something I want following me all round MN. Or in rl.

Because it’s no one else’s business.

PortiaCastis · 25/02/2018 16:52

Twatsplain is brilliant can I steal it please

RoseWhiteTips · 25/02/2018 16:53

Yes, it is a well-known fact that only unpleasant girls get pregnant. Based on six people.

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 16:55

I wasn’t sleeping around. I got pregnant to my then boyfriend. He was 17. I wasn’t a loud mouth either. I was quiet and shy and really a total mouse. I didn’t smoke or chew gum or wear make up.

RoseWhiteTips · 25/02/2018 16:55

Actually, that is a considerable number of cases based on anecdotal evidence.

PortiaCastis · 25/02/2018 16:56

I hope things worked out well for you Pregnant 15 and that you're happy

Findingross · 25/02/2018 16:57

I wouldn’t judge.
My mum had me when she was 16. She was young and naive. My father (they married when my mum was 16) was older and I suspect he manipulated her.
She was and still is an amazing mum. My parents were both professionals (teaching and social work when we were young) and I had a great upbringing. I’m in no way disadvantaged and I have a Mum with whom I am very close.
Stuff happens. It’s too easy to judge and put people into convenient little boxes.
Maybe I was lucky - especially with it being late 1960s/early 1970s.
I had my own children much later, so the pattern didn’t continue.

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 16:58

I’m happy. Well, as happy as anyone else 🙂 I’ve had other kids but me and DSfather didn’t last and I had a tough few years. DS has done well though and he’s happy and that’s what counts.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 25/02/2018 17:00

I wouldn’t be “twatsplaining” about “laundries” in other countries either 15. Because if you actually knew what you were talking about: 1) almost all laundries had closed by 1992 2) the two that were still open had only elderly long term inmates still in them, not new girls and 3) even back in the height of laundries, most girls were not sent to them but to mother and baby homes (another scandal. But a different one.)

So maybe watch out before you fall off the oul high horse. Hmm

Everyone looks like a knob pretending to know what life in another country is like.

To answer the question of what girls in Ireland do: 1) despite much poorer sex education, rates of teen pregnancy are generally lower than the U.K. in the first place. Age of commencing sexual activity is also higher 2) incomes are higher in Ireland, so the €1000 travel costs, while daunting and unjust, are still within reach of most (80%+) families. It’s also much less than the cost of having the child would be. And 3) there are a couple of excellent charities that support costs, including travel costs, for those who can’t afford it. The HSE pays for underage girls in their care who need to travel also.

overskyandshire · 25/02/2018 17:00

Vlad, trust me, I am not the one being disrespectful here.

But I do not think you deserved me jumping down your throat quite so vigorously, so apologies for biting your head off.

However to rephrase ... Surely it is obvious why she namechanged? Grin

Rachie1973 · 25/02/2018 17:00

YourVagesty
I'd assume she had a useless set of parents

LOL TY kindly

StaplesCorner · 25/02/2018 17:01

I'm really confused now, when I asked what the situation was in Ireland I really meant both NI and Eire. Don't worry I'll google.

Pregnant15 · 25/02/2018 17:02

I have a problem Bertrand with the fact that you would “encourage” anyone to havw an abortion.

Still can’t get over your sheer ignorance. Perhaps the next time you might want to be sure of your facts before you spout crap, huh?

RoseWhiteTips · 25/02/2018 17:02

Frankly, the grammar knowledge would have to take second place to knowledge about how one gets pregnant.
🙄

StaplesCorner · 25/02/2018 17:04

I've googled. That's pretty crap. Sad
