AIBU?

Not to wear knickers in bed?

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

I am astonished at how many sleep without knickers on! Just cannot relate to that. For me it's so uncomfortable and cold with nothing on. Whoever said it was unhygienic with knickers on - if anything it's the other way around surely, you are rubbing your genitals around on the sheets! Nothing wrong with that. But it is not unhygienic to wear a clean pair of pants to bed.

ilostit I know, it only wanted to share our bed and ended up in pieces where no spider ever wants to be!

Funnily enough, my husband wears pants to bed now!

Vulpius I think it was your "very unreasonable" comment that threw me off.
Carry on then (hnar hnar). I can fully understand the paperwork avoidance tactic.

Nope i like to give my vag a good airing overnight Grin. I go to bed naked. I have a good duvet so don't find it cold.

Are people rubbing their genitals around on the sheets though Pippi?
I've never found myself doing that.

I never wear anything in bed, except during my withdrawal bleed, I wear old knickers.
I hate wearing anything in bed.

Michael - i can't understand how anyone could wear jama bottoms with no pants. They are loose and as you roll around get all gathered up and go up the crevices.I can't understand how people wear knickers with seams up the front either. My Mum does and bought me some and i couldn't walk as the seam went right up the front and rubbed. I must have really sensitive labs!

I'd defo need to wash my sheets more if i didn't wear pants. We have dark coloured sheets and it shows if i sit on them sans knicks.

Not only do I usually wear knickers in bed, I also wear thick fleece pyjamas and the last couple of months a dressing gown (even a cardigan too on one or two nights)! Not forgetting the hot water bottle at my feet. It's bloody freezing in my bedroom - biggest room in the house, smallest radiator. I can't abide waking up because my arms or legs are cold.

Never had thrush once in my life, so I'll carry on as I am with my extremely sexy nightwear Grin

MrsKoala I completely agree about knickers with seams like that. Hideously uncomfortable. Also they rub on my c section scars. I chucked a pack away that my mum bought me as I just couldn't wear them (yes, for some bizarre reason I am 41 and my mother still puts new socks and knickers in my Christmas stocking, maybe she thinks I am too young to be buying my own pants from M&S Grin).

I'm laughing still about the idea of knickers worn by one's bed.

why don't you join your little friends on the other forum to discuss that?

After having kids you would not want to see the state of my bed if I didn’t wear knickers, now that would be unhygienic. I wear knickers and a large pad every night. Doesn’t cause any issues health wise, never had a problem in this regard.

I wear something to bed - it started when my babies came along and I had an irrational fear of a fire breaking out overnight and the valuable seconds I would waste putting on clothes instead of rescuing my babies - this fear closely followed by the nightmare thought of having to climb down a ladder with only a t shirt on !! Somehow wearing something on my bottom half made me slightly more rational!

Why does it matter to you what other people wear in bed? Wrap yourself in bacon, for all I care.

To all of the people saying they could never imagine wearing undies to bed etc, what do you do when you have your period? Surely the chance of TSS from a tampon overnight is riskier than whatever you think undies will do to you?

I am another one that needs to wee several times of night if I don't wear knickers. Budge up on the bench @FrissionChips

That and the fear of spiders up my fanny means I have big cotton belly warmers for bed.

ThisIsTheRealMe: no, I am not a troll. Are you? I am someone who should be ringing her accountant and can't face it.

PickAChew, I can't say that it matters immensely. It's just one of those random thoughts that assail me when I should be doing something more useful.

MrsKoala, the perils dark coloured sheets had not crossed my mind. Hmm.
