AIBU?

Not to wear knickers in bed?

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

Fascinating - and unhygienic.

I don't ever wear knickers, day or night, in bed or outside...I hate them!

I pretty much always wear knickers to bed, I'd feel weird without them. I don't have special bedknickers, I just keep the ones on I've had during the day and change them in the morning. No thrush issues. I'm quite a juicy lady - I find my inner thighs get smeared if I don't have some fabric there to soak it up Grin not from any unusual 'activity', I'm just generally juicy, as I say lol

My mum always said not to wear knickers to bed as it the only time you bum and bits get an airing so never worn knickers in bed. The only time I do is on the blob week but I find it very uncomfortable. I've always told my kids not to wear knickers or pants to bed the same as my mum told me!

Entirely possible, Giggorata. I was inspired by another thread, but can't make any claims to originality. It has brightened up my otherwise rather shitty days, though, and I am grateful to everyone who has posted, just for that!

Didn't we have all this a while back?

He has also been known to wear a dressing gown and/or jumper in bed. No pants, though.

Michael, I nearly did last night. I had no pants on, either, as he was getting up early to go to work. Grin

two duvets and a bedspread! ShockI'd expire.

Michael, it was the way you put it that made me laugh. I cook overnight, too. It's awful. When I share a bed with DP, I end up casting off even the sheet, while he is pleasantly warm under a sheet, two duvets and a bedspread. I blame hormones (mine, not his).

Why are you people so cold in bed? Confused

Vulpius, cooking overnight is a bit unpleasant, TBH. I sometimes wonder if I'm having an early menopause or something!

I don't like an uncovered foof. I worry about insects crawling in Grin

Yep I have a 13.5 tog quilt and a bedspread over the top of that. Sometimes I even sleep in my dressing gown!

I don't wear knickers to bed but I could never sleep naked. I like the feeling of pyjamas, especially the bottoms right up over my abdomen like Simon Cowell Grin never had thrush in my life.

Maybe you need a warmer duvet/more bedclothes, life? I don't know what you use, but I have a down duvet in winter and an assortment of blankets of different weights.

I'm with life - I have a 13.5 down duvet and still wear full pyjamas (plus knickers underneath my bottoms) and socks (plus a jumper when it's really chilly). Don't like the feeling of sleeping naked even in summer, but would freeze my arse off if I were to sleep in the buff, even with a mega thick duvet!

I always wear a pantliner in my knickers both day and night, and I have never once had thrush or any kind of yeast or BV infection. Apparently my fanjo doesn't need scuba equipment to 'breathe' under the duvet!

LakieLady, you're on. I'll gladly share my scrawniness around, if that helps. Grin Grin

Firstime, you have introduced a whole new dimension to this thread. Aren't tights supposed to be worn over knickers? I haven't worn them since I was at school (tights, that is) because of the pressing-on-my-middle phobia (not to mention the old fanjo-breathing thing).

In my book knickers are keeping tights up, shorts with skirts and nothing with trousers or leggings since I started doing this I barely ever get thrush or cysts.

You're welcome to some of my norkage, Vulpius, but only on condition that you take some of my buttage and a bit of spare tyre as well. I'd end up a very funny shape, otherwise.

I can't believe that people aren't freezing cold in bed with nothing on or no bottoms on!

I wear pyjamas every night - fleecy in winter and cotton in summer and always long sleeved, otherwise I'd be shivering all night!

Michael - I love the idea of cooking overnight. That made me laugh. A lot.

@DenPerry You also made me laugh out loud, I totally agree, far sexier to wear something than dangling around in full frontal pose, especially when of a certain age! The slight suggestion of body curves is so much more appealing and sexier. That's what sexy nightwear is for! Anyone old enough to remember Babydoll negligées, goodness, what a sexist name!

As I have said I go pantless at night. I wear an above the knee night shirt.I shower every night before bed. I sleep on my side or back.I wash my bedding at 60c every week. I am not dirty, do not have a dripping fanny or leave skid marks in my bed! Thank you.

Out of interest, is it a man thing to sleep naked, no matter how bloody freezing it is.

My DP sleeps naked now but used to wear clothes in bed before meeting me. If anything, he gets colder than me at night; I often feel cold when I get into bed but sort of cook overnight. I usually wake up feeling too warm.

LakieLady, I think it's only fair that you should share some of your norkage with me.

On the subject of cold... I am the one who is always hot. Yet another symptom of peri-menopause, I reckon. DP suggested that we might invest in an electric blanket. Not a flipping chance.
