AIBU?

Not to wear knickers in bed?

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

LakieLady Grin Grin

I never realised when I wondered about bed-pants that there would be so many other offshoot-problems. I am now thinking about camping (just in the abstract - no chance of doing it in real life), and I might possibly be tempted to switch to the Other Side for that purpose. The idea of insects in my fanjo just doesn't bear thinking about.

I'm now worrying about my sheet situation, too. I am quite sure there are no farticles in my bed, but I would not like to submit it to forensic examination.

I don't wear pyjamas, btw, as I don't like things pressing on my middle. I wear one of DP's shirts, but then I get too hot and throw all the covers off. I really wouldn't like to share a bed with myself.

My Dd aged 5 was horrified when she had a sleepover and her friend had no pants on just a nightie, she was very worried about her friend's bottom wiping habits. I always wear cotton pants and find it more comfy. lf I have sex I wake up in the night and start rummaging about looking for my pants, because I can't sleep without them.

I love the idea of you rummaging around for your pants post-sex, MrsMarigold Grin

I wear boxer shorts and a white vest in bed. So I go to bed looking like an old fella.
But sometimes I do go commando under dresses in the summer. Couldn't sleep with no drawers though!

I ALWAYS wear pants to bed ( big ugly comfy cotton ones, good thing DH doesn't care Grin) it just feels gross not to, and surely you get secretions and dare I say it.. discharge?
It seems I am in the odd minority though!

Now also thinking about going commando in daylight hours, and it's not working for me. It would feel wrong to be riding a bicycle sans undies.

Do whatever suits you but please don't claim you are 'airing' your undercarriage by not wearing knickers when you're underneath a duvet!

I wear cotton pants to bed. I have a lot of mucus during certain phases of the month. No thrush as yet in over 30years.

Wow I wear knickers and pj bottoms every night I’m more comfortable with them than without and I’ve never had warts, thrush, a sweaty fanny or ‘farticles’ lol. I’m obv in the minority by a long shot but I’m comfy.

I wear knickers in bed - always have. I also have probably what could be described as 'bed pants'. I wear all the ones that don't have a matching bra. I have a separate pile of them in a drawer. My drawers drawer, if you like.

What of it? 😬

Anticipate “bluntness and chow* sensed a bit of male troll hunting. It usually happens with threads about underwear or the bodily functions of women - some women can’t seem to accept that other women do find it funny/curious/interesting

After dd1 having the dreaded worms a couple of years ago its a rule in our house to wear underwear to bed. A quick google explains why.

Also I think bedding would surely need washing more often if you don't wear underwear. You wouldn't wear knickers twice so don't see why you'd lay on sheets with nothing on unless washing them each day

I like to air things out at night.

Definitely always wear pants in bed. I would feel more icky if I didn't, thinking of all those bodily secretions and hairs flinging themselves around the sheets! Urgh! I like to keep it all contained.

Cat - ah. That would make sense. The idea of bed-pants just made me laugh.

Worms are a whole can of worms (sorry) that hadn't occurred to me. I am now thinking I ought not to have started this thread, as I am going to be wondering about what's down the bed tonight. Grin

My ex slept naked.

He often left skids in the bed and occasionally followed through when he farted.

Pants all the way is my preference.

Vul I sometimes wear knickers in bed because sometimes when I haven’t, I’ve dreamt I’m naked from the waist down in public and I have to stay very still so no one notices. Bed pants tickles me too.

FreshFigs ok. If I had experienced bed-skids and worse, I might be erring on the side of caution too.

Cat I have never had a nakedness dream. My anxiety dreams are all about being late for things. Grin

I used to get very bad periods so reluctantly wore knickers then. However, monthlies are no more so I've been freed! I do wear PJs, though. Hate nighties with a passion.

I’ve never thought of it as an anxiety dream but bloody hell, it is isn’t it? I also dream of lateness and that I’ve accidentally abandoned my child or pet. I’ve woken up getting dressed in the middle of night to go and retrieve said child or pet before I’ve realised they are in the next room/on my bed. Definitely remember pulling on jeans regardless of knicker wearing on those occasions!

I sleep completely naked.

I hate wearing anything in bed. I do have to wear something when I sleep in at work because if I have to get up for an emergency I don't want to be completely naked and accidentally open the door, forgetting that fact.

Wearing things in bed is just so restrictive.

Oh and yes I do wear knickers when I am on my period.

And it is bliss when I come off and I can keep them off again.

Cat, yes, I'm sure those kind of dreams are anxiety dreams.

Mine don't tend to be about nakedness, come to think of it, but about being late/missing trains/going out somewhere and realising I've forgotten crucial items…

And needing a pee but not being able to find a suitable loo. Although those ones are probably simple 'need a pee' dreams as I always wake up from them and have to stumble to the loo.

I'm always amazed that so many people sleep nude.

I tried really hard to sleep naked when I was young and thought that only old sexless crones wore nighties or pyjamas. I wanted to be wanton and free and ready for a shag any moment. I was bloody freezing.

Nowadays DH and I both wear pyjamas and have an electric blanket, we seem to manage to have sex anyway, probably more often now I'm not freezing my tits off Grin

But I only wear pants when my period is due, as otherwise the mess is horrendous if I start in the middle of the night and don't wake up until morning Shock
