I’m having an identity crisis. I think I’m a SAHM but, then again, I sometimes do IT contracts when —I can be bothered— we need a bit of extra income. I do them from home. So am I a SAHM or a WAHM or both? Or neither? And how will this affect my entitlement to a kicking, do I get two? I present my first evidence: currently watching Escape to the country, it’s Northern Ireland with Nicki Chapman.

Chienrouge · 19/02/2018 15:37

I’m here, waiting for my kicking. Lounging around watching crap on TV while spending DH’s hard earned money and looking at other ways I can avoid contributing to society.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 19/02/2018 15:37

Cannae kick me. I'm napping.

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:38

Fox tea party in one post you describe dog pee cat pee and child pee. Am I right in thinking the life of a sahm is all glamour?

We've been to outdoor playgroup in the pissing rain. We were the only people stupid enough to turn up, which was handy as it meant there were lots of spare hands to help when ds tried to jump into the river. 😬 #makingmemories #doublepneumoniaahoy

mustbemad17 · 19/02/2018 15:38

Can I also bring along the SAHD i know for a kicking too? Or do they not count cos they're men so we should be greatful they're 'doing their bit' 😬😂

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 19/02/2018 15:38

I'm currently a Home-Schooling Mum (HSM).

You can schedule my kicking as it suits you, because we're all lentil-weavers with our heads in clouds for whom time has no meaning.

Namaste.

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:39

Ahhhh isn't he just wonderful?

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 19/02/2018 15:39

Oh dear I can’t even do a strike through. Probably done too much SAHMing and my brain is now mush.

Chienrouge · 19/02/2018 15:39

Oh we can’t kick SAHD’s. They’re paragons of virtue, babysitting their children while their wives are gallivanting around with their careers.

altkat · 19/02/2018 15:41

Here for my kicking, I'll take a ticket and continue watching the washing machine (no tv here).

I haven't even dome the washing up.

Camomila · 19/02/2018 15:41

I'm a student...so I leave DS with DM/nursery to faff about and read books and not even earn money. Mwahaha
What day do I get kicked please?

DH is on annual leave, we went to softplay after lunch and he ran about with DS while I drank coffee and ate a muffin. Am I getting double kicked? Shock

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:42

Ooh hone schooling mum, tricky.
Do you hand out worksheets
Do your children sharpen their pencils in SILENCE.
Well if so you're pretty much a teacher surely?

Joining queue for kicking. So keen to remain a SAHM I home educate. Watching Harry Potter and MNing this arvo. (Probably deserve kicking for the word ‘arvo’.)

Velvetbee · 19/02/2018 15:42

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:43

Is this kicking going to interfere with my viewing of homes under the hammer? Grin

Full time parent and proud. Because parent is a noun and a verb, geniuses.

DreamyMcDreamy · 19/02/2018 15:43

What TheOnlyPink said ^

I gave up caring what people think ages ago. No matter what you do, when it comes to being a mum, you're always wrong and some know all knows better/sticks their oar in etc.
I've had it from both sides. When eldest was a baby/toddler and in nursery as I worked, I got "aw, he won't know who you are, will he?"
as well as "he never sees you!"
Become a SAHM, "so when are you going back to work then? Surely you are soon? What do you all day? Don't you get bored?" etc etc
fuckkkkk offfffff--
Can't sodding win! Do what's right for you and your family and ignore everyone else.

TathitiPete · 19/02/2018 15:44

Oi! What about us mums who are carers for children with extra/additional/special /super needs? When's our kicking?

*mumbles into her extra strong coffee about being left out

BigFatFanny · 19/02/2018 15:44

You forgot us childless and not by choice folks too..

According to one of my MiL's Mothers Union friends, my defective lady parts and I should be spending any and all free time doing charity bake sales to keep us occupied... apparently, without said occupations we're likely to go slowly insane and eventually start kidnapping babies from hospitals..

Can we schedule our kicking for 2 weeks on Monday? I'm busy kidnapping other peoples children until then apparently Hmm

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:45

Hmm
Would you class yourself as sahm?
I think youre just trying to trick me

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2018 15:46
