No less than 7 on my active threads?? Is it just me who in real life hasn't encountered any transgender people?? And coming from the professional background that I'm in, I see a pretty varied side of life Confused

Am I missing out on something here??

In the US, which is ahead of the UK on self ID, males competing as females, far from being assessed for an advantage, are allowed to dispense entirely with any kind of gatekeeping.

Andrea Yearwood a teenage athlete, has had no treatment whatsoever. No hormones, nothing.

He has taken two state titles.

"I kind of expected it. I’ve always gotten first, so I expected it to some extent. … I’m really proud of it.”

What's with all these transgender threads?!

“any man will be able to enter any women's space whenever he wants“

Well not quite if it’s a place with strict access. For me this isn’t even about being afraid, getting attacked, rapists etc. It’s about the women at my sports club who was in the showers/ changing room alone when a TW came in. She was shocked, humiliated and upset. She complained but was told to deal with it or make other changing/ showering arrangements. The group also organised a yearly weekend away playing their sport. They didn’t go that year as they didn’t even want to risk having to deal with the TW if they expected to be included. The TW was accepted into the spirts group but no one could take them seriously as a woman. The men got to scoff behind the TW’s back and roll their eyes and watch it play out. The women were scared to use the shoers and changing room and cancelled their weekend away that year.

Patodp · 15/02/2018 10:15

From that article Datun

The Day reported that Yearwood ran the 100-meter final in 12.66 seconds and the 200-meter final in 26.08. According to Northeast Sports Timing, the last-place times in the boys 100-meter and 200-meter Class M finals were 11.73 seconds and 25.59 seconds, respectively.

Wow. So a male who would come worse than last against men, beats all the women.

This is the future of women's sport.

BeyondTerfyCassandra · 15/02/2018 10:17

Francine, I don't know if it's been mentioned already and I missed it, but did you see the woman in the papers recently who was sectioned due to extreme paranoia about male people (to the extent she was scared of her own husband), yet was put on a (women's) ward with a self IDing "burly" male transgender person. She complained and was written off as transphobic. This is not just a regular hospital ward, this is a mh ward where patients are locked in
Long and short of it, his delusion was placed in higher regard than her own.

Patodp

Exactly.

Which makes

"I kind of expected it. I’ve always gotten first, so I expected it to some extent. … I’m really proud of it.”

All the more difficult to swallow.

A man who boasts proudly of cheating.

Where is the censure? Where is the wholesale condemnation? Why is that article not calling for action?

It's like, oops, look what's happened. Perhaps there's something wrong here, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Because women are so fucking dispensable.

Catch any man cheating to beat another man, and the sky falls in.

OvaHere · 15/02/2018 10:38

"I kind of expected it. I’ve always gotten first, so I expected it to some extent. … I’m really proud of it.”

So basically he expected to come first in the mens competition found out he wasn't as good as he thought so decided to take some titles where he could easily grab them.

So brave, so stunning Angry

The entitlement of this man is breathtaking as is the cowardice of the officials who allowed him to get his own way like a pampered toddler.

busyboysmum · 15/02/2018 10:43

It almost feels to me like a lot of men are delighted this is happening and are laughing at the uppity women. Because there is no way anyone actually believes these men are women. But men don't have to deal with it so they can just sit back and watch with amusement.

Yes very much so. Yet another great opportunity to laugh at 'Feminazis' getting so 'hysterical' about something they know who never affect them. Even though actually, they all agree with us.

MadamMinacious · 15/02/2018 10:50

The first few 'don't know what the fuss is about' posts on this thread are just ignorance. These are people who don't actually know what the issues are, have made assumptions about what others believe, haven't bothered to educate themselves and then call people who have 'pearl clutchers' - I'm sure you aren't stupid but you are ignorant and uneducated on this issue. It kind of pisses me off that you are so ignorant, seem to know little of the real problem and then call other people names on that basis.

I know a lot of eloquent people before me will have tried to painstakingly explain the problem (I see Ms Yearwood above me for example competing against girls in school) and I also know that the same people won't read it, will dismiss it as bigotry or something and next time a thread like this rolls round they''ll be right in there signalling away that they are the nice people on the site.

If/when the shit does hit the fan those are the people who will be the first on here complaining bitterly about the problems caused and what can we do, but it will be too late by then.

Wilful ignorance.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 15/02/2018 11:10

@DarthNigel - you clearly didn’t look at the FB page. The top posts are all links to articles about men being jailed for assaulting women and claiming they are not men. It’s not people having hyperbolic arguments about trans rights and women’s rights.

Unless you think all those articles are just fake news?

In case anyone else wants to see the articles, here’s a few samples:

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/notorious-hannibal-lecter-jnr-killer-12007046 - no concern for the women who have to search this man.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5375149/Paedophile-Scout-leader-dressed-girl-jailed.html - claimed to be an 18 year old lesbian online in order to abuse girls

abc13.com/news/prisoner-receives-gender-reassignment-surgery/1692155/ - 57 year old convicted murderer, who will never be released, is given SRS at the cost of the American tax payer.

gendertrender.wordpress.com/2018/02/02/transwoman-who-heckled-rose-mcgowan-is-a-known-sexual-predator-claim-women/ - Andi Dier, trans woman who heckled Rose McGowan, is outed as a sexual predator of girls.

Riverside2 · 15/02/2018 11:13

@busyboysmum - yes, agree, I think most men are quite pleased actually because they see it as a way of getting "back" at feminists.

Patodp · 15/02/2018 11:16

Oh absolutely that's why there are loads of keyboard warriors out there calling women terfs and telling them to stfu about stupid women's biology, who aren't even trans or LGBT or anything, they're just misogynistic shits.

HandbagKrabby · 15/02/2018 11:17

The thing about the sprinter is the boys placed 4th and below are a lot faster and if all you have to do is say you feel like you’re a girl and you get to be a record breaker rather than 4th place then what might you do? If it’s based on how someone feels I don’t think sports bodies will be able to use testosterone levels as a marker for much longer - surely that’s transphobic?

Likewise if I was a man in the U.K. but all I had to do was sign a piece of paper and I could get my women’s pension early - what’s stopping me after self ID?

Please bear in mind calling someone trans is potentially transphobic as all people are either men or women and this is based on how they feel inside at any given time - to identify someone as trans implies they are different in some way to men and women and they are not. Although can you have transphobia if there are only men and women?

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 15/02/2018 11:18

@Patodp oh yes. Trans women are women but ask a straight man if they’ll fuck them and if they answer it’s a no.

Oh. Women when you want to lord it over women and trans when you need to assess their fuckability. Got it.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 15/02/2018 11:20

@HandbagKrabby re your last point. Sex is a spectrum until you want to be non-binary, then it’s binary. But it can’t be because that invalidates trans beliefs that trans women are women. Therefore sex must be a spectrum.

Round and round it goes, where it stops, nobody knows!

DarthNigel · 15/02/2018 11:40

Diana-I did actually. I didn't say they were fake news. Terrible things that have happened to innocent people. I also don't think they are representative of the experience of the majority of the population necessarily. And I remain optimistic that that will continue to be the case. If Im back here in 5 or 10 years saying I was wrong because society has degraded to such a degree that this has become the norm and I regret being laid back about it then of course you will have every right to say it's my own fault.

TammySwansonTwo · 15/02/2018 11:51

Thank you ladies. After my experience I feel I should spread the word about the reality of these drugs, especially with longterm use.

For endometriosis, it’s only licensed for six months use, and is supposed to be prescribed with HRT to prevent longer term side effects. I was given it for longer because nothing else was working. The thought of giving it to children for years, with no HRT, is so appalling to me I can’t even put it into words. These children are caught up in a political war and paying with their bodies and futures. I would never ever consent to my children having this drug unless they had a significant medical reason and then it would be extremely difficult to agree to.

Patodp · 15/02/2018 11:56

You forgot the evidence.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 15/02/2018 12:22

Well dang it! Grin

I asked if you thought it was fake news because you likened it to other Facebook pages like Britain First and their agenda, and then said you dislike Facebook as a reliable source. The news articles are the source of the examples you literally asked for.

I really, really hope you’re right and ten years from now this shit has imploded and we are back to knowing that trans people are a small population who have specific legislations to protect them that don’t infringe on women’s rights.

Ereshkigal · 15/02/2018 13:07

If any child was being "pushed" into taking any kind of medication then that would constitute highly unethical behaviour from both their clinician and their legal guardians. If it is happening today, people should be prosecuted.

Yes, they should really Francine shouldn't they? Glad to see we're on the same page here.

ShotsFired · 15/02/2018 14:16

@TammySwansonTwo a belated thank you for sharing your story, I am so sorry you have been through so much Flowers

TheGoldenBowl · 15/02/2018 15:35

It's cheering to see how many posters do fully understand the issues and how, ultimately, posters like Francine do slink off because they can't argue any further against actual facts.

But it's worrying that some posters will then claim, following their experience on this thread, that they were 'shouted down' or chased away; they won't see that it's the lack of robust points that saw them off, not us.

The thing is, if you've got a valid case, and it matters, you keep going. Is it any wonder there are so many trans threads when nothing has changed ? The trans threads will only go away when women's rights are assured.

MaisyPops · 15/02/2018 15:38

TheGoldenBowl
Plus most people have no issur with people being trans and transitioning if that's what they feel is best for them.

I'll happily say trans people should be free from discrimination for being trans. I'd happily have trans teams if a 3rd space was needed, but sport is split by sex not gender. I'm not happy with thr denial of basic biological facts and the subsequent erosion of womens rights by men who want to self identify as women but retain all their male privilege.

Houseinthemouse · 15/02/2018 17:23

Neither. I couldn't give a shit about female prisoners or men who want to be female prisoners. Neither are deserving of having a single penny more of tax payers money spent on them then the bare minimum to keep them alive. (Unfashionable opinion I know)

Heartbreaking attitude. Nearly every single woman in prison has been the victim of sexual abuse or domestic violence. They have had traumatic, chaotic lives, and usually at the hands of men. I am horrified that anyone could think its ok that these women may have to share a cell with a man.
There is a saying , "there but for the grace of god go I". You never know what turns your life may take, and it sounds like you have been lucky so far. Shocking poster. Really vile.

Boatsonthewater · 15/02/2018 17:27

Yes, I am sick and tired of them all - boring.
