I can’t believe I’m asking this, but I’m really nosey and just wanted to put it out there.

AIBU to ask you about how you met your partner, DH or DW? Insanely curious (although I know it’s none of my business).

Student union bar, I tried to steal an accessory he was wearing. When he wouldn't give it to me I lifted the drink out of his hand and walked off with it. He stalked me on Facebook then his mate invited me to his flat, where me and his best mate had a belching competition... Apparently he knew I was "the one" then, because I wasn't trying to impress anyone and was just happy and confident being me soppy dickhead

Mugshotzforlunch · 13/02/2018 09:38

On a bus to the seaside with some mutual (ex) friends.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 13/02/2018 09:46

In the pub he managed. By coincidence though we went to the same primary & secondary schools (partly for Secondary) & I spent a lot of Saturday's between the age of about 4 & 10 in his Auntie's kitchen as she & my Auntie were friends.

pancakequeenisheretosaveyou · 13/02/2018 09:48

TV show. I was one of the 'experts' and he was the subject of the documentary Grin

TheSconeOfStone · 13/02/2018 09:49

Student union bar. His friend was going out with my friend. He fancied me straight away. I liked him and we had loads in common but he wasn’t what I had decided my type was. Took a couple of months for us to become a couple. The last thing I was looking for in my first term at uni was a husband.

latara23 · 13/02/2018 11:05

I'm single at present but have met past boyfriends at work, on Tinder, on the bus, at nightclubs, through friends...

I've got to get back on it & find s decent man.

RiverRose · 13/02/2018 11:17

Secondary school, same year. He used to fancy me, I wasn't very nice to him thinking he was a geek BlushSad

Met again years later working for the same company. Roles reversed, he was so good looking and confident... i was a haggard single mum!

He took pity on me though Grin a ONS later and I've never shook him off since! Married him, currently pregnant... turns out he is the love of my life... ahhhh Grin

Through co-workers who invited us both for after work drinks (they were dating, we worked at different organisations in the same city). We were both expats working overseas so it was a small expat community. We became friends after that and eventually started dating and the rest is history...10 years and two kids and a few international moves later.

amusedbush · 13/02/2018 11:29

We met on POF in 2011.

NewYearSunshine · 13/02/2018 11:31

Match.com a few months after exdh of 16 years left for ow (luckily we had no kids)
We met in January and married in August, first child born the following June, followed by dc2 two years later!!!
We have been happily married for 13 years

HelgasFlowers · 13/02/2018 11:32

He was a friend of a friend’s friend.

AnyFarrahFowler · 13/02/2018 11:36

At Uni. I heard his gorgeous North-East accent, turned around, saw him and that was it. Got chatting in the student union bar, and then he walked me “home” across campus.
The next day I broke up with my then boyfriend at lunchtime and we got together that night!
That was 2006 and we’re now married with DS and DD.

His accent is still so sexy Grin

SillyLittleBiscuit · 13/02/2018 11:39

On the tube on Christmas eve.

0nTheEdge · 13/02/2018 11:41

At a bus stop after separate nights out with friends, had all missed the last bus so shared a taxi. Now married with three kids.

Foslady · 13/02/2018 11:44

Match date. Date was ok but he hacked me off - twice! - but there was something about him......got back in touch a year later, chatted as mates, went on a night out as mates and everyone asked why we weren’t together!

Lauren83 · 13/02/2018 11:53

Tinder

Pleasegodgotosleep · 13/02/2018 13:10

eHarmony! Only my second ever on line date. Turns out we worked across the road from each other. Met, moved in together after 6 months, married after 16 months first baby following year. My soul mate!

BornInALighthouse · 13/02/2018 13:14

Through my ex, they were in a band together. He wasn't very nice in the end. Dp waited ages after to message me on MySpace saying don't be a stranger.

HildaZelda · 13/02/2018 17:26

Through work. I worked for a retail company. He was area manager for a sales company that supplied to them.

redexpat · 13/02/2018 17:36

Met dh at a girl guide center.

Pob13 · 13/02/2018 17:50

I worked with his mum, she said I should marry her son. So I did.

HeyMicky · 13/02/2018 17:51

My Single Friend. Just after it launched, when it was small and high quality and people were genuinely promoting their lovely friends

Doctroo · 13/02/2018 17:51

On a train. They complained that I was kicking their seat, I said no I''m not, I'm just tall and squashed in. So they complained to the train guard so I moved seats.

Proseccoagain · 13/02/2018 17:53

In Singapore, both working in completely different fields, but lived near each other in expat community. He asked me to the cinema one evening, (day before my birthday), and been together ever since . Married, two children, two grandchildren! Been around the world a bit too, on work postings.
