To ask how tall you are?

I'm 5'10 (and a half even) and everywhere I go I feel freakishly tall compared to other women around me.

It's alright though, really!

How tall are you? Do you like being your particular height?

OP posts:
Sosog00d · 11/02/2018 19:07

Just shy of 5'9 '
Friends similar height. Work colleagues a LOT smaller (even the men, bar one). I feel like a hugely unattractive linebacker.
Pool of tall men in Belfast is non-existent as far as I can tell, which only contributes to my unease.

Sister 5'0' brothers, same height as me.

I'm the odd one out

stardust18 · 11/02/2018 19:11

5/3 ok but a little short. Can't see a bloody thing at a concert when everyone stands up.

Goldenbug · 11/02/2018 19:11

6'2", but I am a gentleman. There is a customer where I work who is a woman and taller than me. It's a very odd feeling to talk to her.

swapsicles · 11/02/2018 20:12

5'2 and a half, overall I like being this height but pain in the backside having to have a stool available at all times in the kitchen to reach stuff!
Dd is 15 and just shy of 5ft, not grown for ages so think she will likely stay around that mark.

CalleighDoodle · 11/02/2018 20:16

5'8. happy with it.

theSnuffster · 11/02/2018 20:28

5ft 3 and would like to be a couple of inches taller just for practical reasons!

willisurvive3under2 · 11/02/2018 20:30

5'8" and I'm happy with it. I'm from a country where the average woman is much shorter, I felt like a giraffe growing up. It was a welcome change when I moved to the UK and most people are roughly my height.

Maddiemademe · 11/02/2018 20:30

5'7 but I always wear very high heels so closer to 6' in them. Always tower over other women and it used to bother me to the point I wouldn't wear anything other than flats. Now I couldn't give a shiny shit!

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 11/02/2018 20:34

I'm 5'8.5"

I would love to be 5'10" OP!

My DD is 5'9"

I've always liked being tall and feel envious of women who are taller than me

horseknickers · 11/02/2018 20:39

I'm 5'6". My dad is 6'2" and my mum 5'2". I feel fairly average. My sons are all tall with the eldest three at 6'3", 6'4" and 6'5" - they make me feel tiny!!

PickAChew · 11/02/2018 20:41

I go all the way from the soles of my feet to the top of my head.

Klarabing · 11/02/2018 20:47

Im 5ft 2in and love my height. I am size 3 in a shoe too so i can get childrens shoes cheaper. The only downside is if i gain half a stone i go up a dress size.

Maddiemademe · 11/02/2018 20:48

VileyRose: you sound like a dickhead Hmm

VileyRose · 11/02/2018 20:50

Thanks Grin

isthistoonosy · 11/02/2018 20:53

153cm - don't love or hate it. I felt esp short the years I was working with Nordics and Danes and mostly men, but apart from learning you need to shout a bit to talk to the person next to you if they are 40-50 cm taller than you it was never any kind of issue.

DownstairsMixUp · 11/02/2018 20:55

5'5 most of my friends are taller

MrsDesireeCarthorse · 11/02/2018 20:56

5' 2 Most people think I'm taller. I've always been really happy with my height. I never get given short jokes except from DH but he is just under 6'4!

MoHunter · 11/02/2018 20:56

5’11”! I hate shopping for trousers (even “long” ones always come up short) and shoes (size 8/sometimes 9), but other than that I’m not as bothered by it as I used to be when I was younger and fatter.

Want2beme · 11/02/2018 20:56

5ft6. Sister's 5ft8. Nieces are 5ft9, 5ft10 & 5ft11.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 11/02/2018 20:58

I feel more feminine being small

I'd HATE to feel so pathetically inadequate Hmm

franktheskank · 11/02/2018 20:59

5 , 5 but friends seem to be shorter than me , I'm happy with my height Smile

Bodicea · 11/02/2018 21:00

5’2”and a half. I was always the cute little one in school. Played up to it a bit when it got me what I wanted. Quite like being small.
It has given me a wider choice of men to go for I suppose. Their height has never a factor I have taken much into consideration. Dated guys ranging from 5’6” to 6’2” Ended up with someone that is 5’9” which is just pefect for me.
My main gripe is I can’t go over a size 10 without looking dumpy. I am short waisted and have disproportionately long legs. So weight goes straight on my belly.
I am jealous of taller friends who can eat more and pull of being a size 14 and still look great and in proportion.

myidentitymycrisis · 11/02/2018 21:04

5'7' wish I was a bit taller tbh. DS is 6'5 and I hug his tummy when we hug

Bodicea · 11/02/2018 21:04

Also never been a big fan of crowds. Get stressed out at big gigs/concerts etc. I think my height is a big factor in that.

hazeyjane · 11/02/2018 21:09

4'11" would just like to be able to reach stuff really
