To ask how tall you are?

I'm 5'10 (and a half even) and everywhere I go I feel freakishly tall compared to other women around me.

It's alright though, really!

How tall are you? Do you like being your particular height?

OP posts:
amusedbush · 13/02/2018 09:38

Harrumph at all the 5’2” or similar posters who have bagged the 6’ plus men!

I'm just a peep over 5' 4 and DH is 6' 3 - sorry Grin

JustDanceAddict · 13/02/2018 09:40

5ft4. Shorter than my kids now! I’m about average height though.

PorklessPie · 13/02/2018 09:41

My husband is over 6ft and I'm 5ft 2. My sons are massive as well. Youngest was born 65cm and now at just turned 5 has size 1 feet and is as tall as an average 8yr old!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 13/02/2018 09:43

5 ft 4.5 or 164cm.

I’m just completely average all round and kind of wish I was a bit taller or a bit shorter just to have something a little bit unusual about me! Grin

DH is 5 ft 10ish - I exercised the very tall ones in my youth Grin

Lonelynessie · 13/02/2018 09:47

5'9.5 and I hate it. Would love to be around 5'6 or 5'7 max.

Stmoritz · 13/02/2018 09:50

5’5. Ideally I’d like to be 5’7.

Ghanagirl · 13/02/2018 09:53

5’3 I love being petite as being slim with dark skin I get mistaken for a twenty something😊

LemonShark · 13/02/2018 09:55

5ft 9. So glad to read how so many PP are a similar height or taller, as everywhere I go I'm almost always the tallest women around (without heels!). Even in a supermarket I often notice that I'm the tallest person there including most of the men :/ it's really odd as I don't consider 5ft 9 to be especially tall for a woman.

I like it anyway. Clothes seem to fit better than I imagine they might if I were shorter and it's brilliant for seeing at gigs.

Ghanagirl · 13/02/2018 10:00

Another one with tall DH!

Kaybush · 13/02/2018 10:02

I'm 5ft 9 (or 8 + 3/4 inches to be precise). I love being tall, but grew up with a 6ft sister and 6ft 5 dad, plus tall friends so never really felt that tall.

dkb15164 · 13/02/2018 10:04

5"6 aka average in every way - was 5"5 when I was only 12 and used to tower over everyone throughout primary school and then promptly stopped growing. Everyone use to say I was going to be huge like the rest of my family but never happened (heights include 6"4, 6"2, 6"5 and my grandad back in his day was 6"6 apparently). First child (DD1) due in April but DPs family look tiny stood next to mine (DP is tallest at 5"8, rest of family sits at 5"0, 5"2 and 5"2 with his cousin at 5"6 being second tallest) so will have to wait and see what DD1 grows to. Jokes have been made that if she's built like my LB (6"4) she will walk out of me.

BrightonBollock · 13/02/2018 10:05

Five foot four and a fart.

Sarahh2014 · 13/02/2018 10:07

I'm 5.9 and although I'm not keen on it as I love the look of v high heels it does have it's good points:
I can reach high shelves and
If I put weight on it's less obvious
My dream height would be 5.5

LightastheBreeze · 13/02/2018 10:10

Same height as you OP and do feel tall and shop a lot in Next tall as I have long arms

Aria2015 · 13/02/2018 10:12

5.9" I used to hate it but I was nearly my full adult height by 11 so was freakishly tall during those delicate pre pubescent and pubescent years! I used to feel self conscious in my early 20's too - when I'd be the tallest of all my girlfriends on the dance floor and I'd find myself dancing in a squat position to even things out! Since my 30's I've learnt to love being tall. I can put on a stone and still fit in all my clothes (weight gain shows less). I don't shy away from heels now either, although for comfort reasons won't go higher than 3 inches. Most shorter women I know would love to be taller so I'm embracing it!

BlurryFace · 13/02/2018 10:13

5 foot 3 and a half. I feel average, like women a fair bit smaller than me are short and women a fair bit taller than me are tall. The only thing that bugs me about my build is that my leg length seems to hover somewhere between petite trousers and regular trousers.Confused

Heismyopendoor · 13/02/2018 10:13

4ft 11 and a half. I think the half is made up, but I don’t care! I don’t mind being this height, just wish I was a size six again lol

mummyoftvef · 13/02/2018 10:14

4foot 11 all my nieces n nephews are taller than me Smile

fearfultrill · 13/02/2018 10:14

I'm just over 5ft 11. I used to hate it (I've been this height since very young) but now I don't notice it as much as I work with a few tall people and my family are all taller than me.

However I do always say I wish I was this height wearing heels!

DavetheCat2001 · 13/02/2018 10:15

5 foot 7. Always felt a bit gangly as a teenager, but 5, 7 just doesn't seem that tall these days!

IWillSurviveHeyHey · 13/02/2018 10:18

My husband is over 6ft.1 and I'm 5ft 2. I have always liked the way I looked because I am well proportioned. Now in my late 40s I realise being taller would mean less of a struggle with weight, but either than that, I am fine with my height. I have LOTS of really tall female friends and I think they're gorgeous, but it's not their height that make sit so... Still, they all moan about being tall...

iatethepies · 13/02/2018 10:18

6ft it does really bother me anymore, my best friend is around 5ft9 so I don't feel freakishly huge when we go out together. OH is around 6ft2 but muscular to my skinny frame so I still feel protected in a weird way. Being tall has its advantages in that i seem to be able to eat pretty much what i want alot of the time without much weight gain.

HesterShaw · 13/02/2018 10:19

5ft 7 - I used to hate it as a teenager, because all my friends were little and pretty. I felt like the skinny gangling ginger and no one ever fancied me! I've never had that "little being cherished" feeling that everyone yearns for occasionally. DP is only an inch taller. That's fine now though.

notuptoyou · 13/02/2018 10:36

5ft 8.

GoldenWorld · 13/02/2018 10:41

Precisely 5ft 2 and 5/8ths. Grin I like my height, I don't think I'd change it.
