To ask how tall you are?

I'm 5'10 (and a half even) and everywhere I go I feel freakishly tall compared to other women around me.

It's alright though, really!

How tall are you? Do you like being your particular height?

OP posts:
usernameunavailable · 11/02/2018 21:10

5'3

BotanicalGin · 11/02/2018 21:11

5’5’’ I love being this height. I was really tiny at school, then got to age 15 and just grew loads in 1 year.

stoplickingthetelly · 11/02/2018 21:14

I'm 5 foot 4.6 inches. Feel I'm neither tall or short. I like my height because I'm neither tall nor short, just very average. I like that I don't stand out and I can usually find trousers that fit without too much trouble.

WishingOnABar · 11/02/2018 21:17

Also in the 5 foot 1 range, and yes in agreement with many other hobbit-sized posters that if I gain just a few pounds my thighs inflate like lower body life jackets

Figgygal · 11/02/2018 21:18

Op I'm 5 foot 10 and a half too

I love it as you can always see at concerts

But sometimes sensibly sized heeled shoes are hard to find and every now and then I will be talking to friends or stood next to colleagues and realise I'm gigantic Next to then

mrsm12 · 11/02/2018 21:19

6ft, hate it, tower over all my friends so always end up hunched in pictures, back problems from years of doing this. Constantly assumed im strong because im tall and broad so get asked to do more manual jobs in work. Used to be hard to get trousers but that's getting easier, ditto shoes for going out. Dh is the same height so don't like wearing massive heels and towering over him too.

phoenix1973 · 11/02/2018 21:22

5'4"

CaptainCardamom · 11/02/2018 21:32

Harrumph at all the 5’2” or similar posters who have bagged the 6’ plus men!

sirlee66 · 11/02/2018 21:32

5'11. If I was short, my BMI would be horrendous. Luckily, because I'm tall... My BMI is okay!!

2pups · 11/02/2018 21:35

5' 8" - and happy Smile

juddyrockingcloggs · 11/02/2018 21:35

I am 5ft 4, I love my height! My older sister who is identical in facial looks to me however is 6ft 1!

wonkylegs · 11/02/2018 21:38

4'11 it suits me
I'm shorter than both my parents and all my siblings - although none of them are particularly tall, mum & my sister who are the next shortest are 3 inches taller than me

DH is 5'11 and I suspect both our sons will be closer to his height than mine

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 11/02/2018 21:40

4’11 - I really could do with being 6 inches taller, so I could reach things without climbing up ladders or asking for help. Additionally, even petite fitting clothes are too big, so I spend my life turning up hems. The only thing this height is useful for is long haul travel.

stevie69 · 11/02/2018 21:41

I'm 5'7" and I think it's perfect Smile

FrozenMargarita17 · 11/02/2018 21:42

5'7 and happy. My mum is 5ft and dad 6'4 so I think I'm bang in the middle 😊

LemonysSnicket · 11/02/2018 21:44

5’4 and hate it.

Wish I could be taller and slimmer and have lovely elegant legs.

AthenaAshton · 11/02/2018 21:48

5 foot, but all my DC, 13 yo girl included, are 6 foot plus. That's the only thing that makes me feel titchy. Their DF is 6'3", which probably explains it. DP said the other day that he likes my smallness. I was a bit surprised, as I had forgotten that I was small.

AthenaAshton · 11/02/2018 21:49

DP is not 6 foot anything, btw. More like 5 foot 10. Works for me, as slightly more reachable without lying down.

Chocachoo · 11/02/2018 21:55

5'9".
Hated it as a teen and can still feel a bit self conscious in a shorter group, but generally very confident about my height now and wouldn't choose to be shorter. Probs an age thing! DH is average male height and I'm really hoping the DCs take after my side!

fadingfast · 11/02/2018 21:58

I'm the same height as you OP and I used to feel quite insecure about it. Less so these days but I'm athletic build with broad shoulders and often feel like a giant next to most other women. Not helped by being referred to as an 'Amazon' by a (male) friend at university. I also remember a particularly sleazy bloke asking me and an equally statuesque friend if we had trouble attracting men because of our height (no, only insecure tossers). DH is about half an inch taller than me, so in heels I tower over him, but I rarely wear them these days (I generally prioritise comfort now). I struggle to find trousers long enough on the high street and arm length is also difficult. I think my posture has suffered because of my insecurities.

We went on holiday to Holland this year and I felt normal for once!

tinyradish · 11/02/2018 22:00

5ft & quite like being small, the only issue I have is with clothes. I wish more places sold proper petite ranges because things never got right.

tinyradish · 11/02/2018 22:03

*fit

5foot5 · 11/02/2018 22:08

Guess.

TheClitterati · 13/02/2018 08:51

5'8" (and a half).

I love my height.

SoftBlocks · 13/02/2018 09:07

Genuinely surprised at the number of people on here who don’t like being tall. IME quite a few ( by no means all) tall people are really into it, in a superiority complex sort of way. Like they expect you to be impressed that they have a big skeleton. I’m 5ft 7 and quite happy with it.
