I’m 18...Saturday night I would now be listening to Blue and DJ Sammy getting ready to go out to the local.
I’m wearing a two-tone halterneck top, leather look trousers (size 8.. sigh) with a tassle belt. Patent wedges and my hair straightened with my Babyliss steam straighteners! Gold eyeshadow like the one Kylie wears in the “On a Night Like This” video...

Necking a bottle of 20/20 and cheap red wine.

I’ll go out with about £8 in my pocket, dance to Fragma and S Club 7, drink loads of crap (free!) thanks to my school friend who works behind the bar then cadge a couple of Regals to smoke on my way homeGrin

I had a 1yo and was just 3 weeks away from marrying DH.

Chocywockydodahhhhhh · 11/02/2018 02:39

Getting home from a club I should think trying not to wake my mum and dad, I remember I was going out with a complete tit at the time.

TheButterflyOfTheStorms · 11/02/2018 02:51

In Australia, newly divorced, happy as anything.

IAmALeafOnTheWindWatchHowISoar · 11/02/2018 02:55

I’d have been 37 and In hospital with a premature DC1 who was tiny. Trying to establish breast feeding and feeling very emotional as we had been trying for years and years and we never thought it would happen.

He’s just had his 16th birthday and is a gentle giant at 6ft odd and preparing for his GCSEs.

TealStar · 11/02/2018 02:58

Planning our wedding and going out for dinner and drinking in bars every weekend. Working hard, driving a Golf and being a typical footloose and fancy free 26 year old.

dc2 was 6 weeks old and we were living in Canada. 2yo Dc1 had just come out in an all body rash that the gp said was chicken pox and I was freaking out. It completely disappeared the next day, but then the newborn came down with double pneumonia so the whole ‘thanking my lucky stars’ thing was short lived. He’s a strapping 16yo on a basketball team now, with none of the lung scarring they said he would have.
I think I was just waiting for spring.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 11/02/2018 08:09

It was half term and my new boyfriend had gone up North to his parents to tell his beloved mum about me. She was disappointed that he hadn’t chosen “a white girl!” Hmm
He came back a few days later and we took the Eurostar to Paris for the rest of the week. We had an amazing time.
16 years, a shortbreak up and 2 dc later we are still together. His mum has taken tolerance tablets and loves her dgc but I haven’t really forgiven her for that comment.

Tink2007 · 11/02/2018 08:22

I would have been 16, in college doing my A levels. On a Sunday I would have no doubt been already on MSN to one of my best friends, obsessing over the Backstreet Boys.

Also completely oblivious that three weeks from now I would be meeting my now DH.

Hueandcry · 11/02/2018 09:11

In hospital having given birth to ds2 by emergency cs after a very long & exhausting labour. Sore, tired & struggling to bf. It did get better though Smile

vampirethriller · 11/02/2018 09:15

19 years old, at Uni., hating it! Going out in PVC skirts and bodices from Select and drinking Aussie white croc shots from test tubes in Yates.

Kenworthington · 11/02/2018 09:15

I had a three year old. I was 26, one of my best friends was about to die suddenly and unexpectedly from a massive heart attack in a couple of weeks. Dh and I had been trying to conceive ds2 for a year. We would move into our now house in a couple of months where we would find out I was pg with ds2 almost immediately

IShouldGoToBed · 11/02/2018 09:17

Chilling out in New Zealand with awesome mates.(ff to now, and in UK, on a wet day, working long crappy hours Sad) 2002 was good!

FluffyWuffy100 · 11/02/2018 09:21

I was 16.

I’d have been playing snake on my Nokia 3210 and texting friends, maybe at a friends for the evening watching South Park but probably at home with my parents.

The80sweregreat · 11/02/2018 12:01

i was 37 and living in Valencia on an two year assignment with kids and dh ( he was working, i wasn't)
it was too hot for me in the summer months and learning to change gas bottles before they run out was a revelation.
school was nice though, children enjoyed it. i didnt as much for loads of reasons.

MrsLaurac · 11/02/2018 15:08

I would have spent the day in town and doing bits and bobs with my parents then probably wluldnhave spent the night chatting on msn messager with a username of something like mrslaurac and x and x bff idst etc" little did I know how two faced the majority of those friends were and that i wouldn't take them into my adulthood.

ReanimatedSGB · 11/02/2018 15:41

I was 36 and had just started working for a text service company - the job that would eat my life for about a year. (It was 'sex chat' texting, I was running the team of people who worked in shifts 24/7 swapping texts with random blokes - it had to be done from the office and I was always having to cover for staff who CBA to come in, so I was hugely sleep-deprived.)
I was living in London, dating a younger man who lived in Nottingham, had cut my hair very short a couple of months earlier, was just about to get massively into The White Stripes...

Flamencoflamingo · 11/02/2018 15:49

I’m 9, on half term probably spending it between my recently divorced parents

littlemissalwaystired · 11/02/2018 15:55

I'd have been 6 and most likely on half termGrin

mineisacuppa · 11/02/2018 16:05

I am 35. 5 years of infertility treatments had left me desperately low. Taking up running took my mind off it but also made me healthy enough to conceive later in the year 2002 was a year of huge lows ending on a massive high.

ForalltheSaints · 11/02/2018 16:17

My main memory of 2002 is going to a football match and having to witness the pre-match 'entertainment'- Atomic Kitten. I thought we had signed up to conventions against torture!

VodkaLimeSoda27 · 11/02/2018 16:18

I'm 12. My life is one long round of going on MSN, glittery tops from Tammy and baggy skater jeans Grin listening to everything from Blue to Blink 182 and sleeping over with my best friend (who I now don't have anything to do with). We went into town every Saturday to go to our church's coffee morning Confused, bought all the shit from primark and spent the afternoon wandering around our estate with a 70p bag of chips.

Crazyladee · 11/02/2018 16:20

I'm 30 and pregnant with DS2. I'm exhausted and working full time but on count down till my maternity leave.

I'll be spending the summer heavily pregnant watching Wimbledon and then glued to Big Brother (when it was popular) with the housemates being Jade Goody, Alex and Kate Lawler (who won it.)

Now DS2 is getting ready to take his GCSEs, 6ft 2 and I can't believe I gave birth to him!

WickedLazy · 11/02/2018 16:50

I'm 10, and reading right now. My gran lets me pick a few books every Saturday, in the local charity shop (20-50p each), when I go to visit/stay overnight. I might play on my game boy soon for a bit. It's freezing outside, there's nothing on the telly atm, I've watched every vhs tape we own 10 times, and I'm bloody sick of putting one on, only to have to rewind it, because my sister forgets to do it, when the films over. My mum and dad who could never possibly be contemplating divorce, will make our Sunday dinner late, then we'll all watch Roswell High, and eat galaxy ice cream bars, like we do every Sunday.

Emabrmsca · 11/02/2018 17:25

I was 10. Probably being mardy sulking in my room.
